New Boiler installation

From the initial phone call to installation this company proved to be excellent, every enquiry I made was dealt with promptly, professionaly and courteously.
From Alan's, site survey to Mike in the office, first class.
The day of installation could not have gone better, Dave the engineer was courteous, efficient and clean.
My advice to anyone looking for a great service and experience, look no further than Protech
They certainly deserve all the 5 star reviews they receive

Had a new boiler fitted by Joe from ProTech Boilers. Firstly the new boiler is great, smaller then the old one but very powerful, looks smarter and works with a cordless thermostat so can have it in any room and so easy to use.Secondly young Joe who fitted it, what a pleasant young man and very knowledgeable about the whole process, explained all my questions in full detail, was very polite and cleaned up fully after he finished, even hoovered. Excellent quick service

Called protec on Thursday morning as I had been searching for a reputable gas engineer to fix or replace my boiler as we had been without heat and water since Saturday and called several trades men and left messages with no response. Shawn arrived at 3pm prompt and checked the boiler advising I would be better replacing it. After doing my own research and his advice I opted for a Viessmann. David the engineer was brilliant arrived 7.30 and was friendly, efficient and quick. Boiler was in and working by 1.30pm and I’m extremely pleased with it. From initial phone call to completion an excellent service throughout and I’d definitely recommend protec boilers

Excellent service provided. Gas fitters were Tidy and hardworking. They sited the boiler where we requested very pleased with its efficiency. Would highly recommend this local company.

What a fantastic service!

Matthew from Pro Tech Boilers carried out a gas safety check at my property this week. The customer service and communication was brilliant. I'm very paranoid about the dangers of gas in general but Matthew put my mind totally at rest. The checks were very detailed and completely complied with all the relevant legislation on gas safety.

I would not hesitate to recommend Pro Tech Boilers you will not find a more professional or courteous company as this one : )

Poor service. Poor response when costs queried.

Firstly the Appointment was booked for 15:00 onwards but engineer arrived early AM and called me at work despite me calling on the day (as requested by pro tech) to confirm this was ok.

After receiving the invoice I queried several times why I was being charged 2hrs labour when the repair engineer was onsite at 14:15 and left at 14:42

Depending who I spoke to the answer was different which I have documented on call recording and email.

The final explanation was the engineer had to collect parts however when I approved the repairs following the initial attendance (paid for separately) I was told they could not attend the next day as would not receive parts until.the next day. The heating was functional it was only the hot water that was not working and there's is an electric shower so no emergency certainly no reason why the parts could not of been ordered rather than collected by an engineer at £60 per hour although I can't help feel this was a very poor attempt at justifying the costs.

I was quoted the exact amount I authorised and only queried due to the amount of time the engineer was on site. Moral of the story get a second quote as pro tech will just charge you what they quoted even if it's massively over estimated.

I have already given Pro tech the benefit of the doubt when I had to have them re attend and repair a badly fitted Q/R valve (fitted by pro tech) at the time the website advertised 24 hrs call out. I could not get hold of anyone at the weekend but I had the engineers number that attended. When I called him I was told they do not open weekends and that should not be advertised on the site, to the credit of the engineer he came out and rectified the leaking valve he had fitted.

This is simple if I'am quoted 2 hrs labour to repair my car but am only.waiting in reception 30 min I don't expect to be charged the 2 hrs just because it was quoted. You may be legally speaking squeaky clean but morally it's very wrong to just bill out as quoted.

I have since had another plumber quote me £150 Less than Protect (mainly labour) He was shocked I was being billed 2 hrs for a 30 min job at £60 per hour.

Look forward to the response hopefully it will be more thought out than the 3 differing accounts justifying the costs I have so far received.

Yes Paul tennet has CCTV Times are accurate. Possibly your fitter was filling out paperwork/smoking in his van for the remainder of the time still doesn't explain why you are charging me 2 hrs @ £60 + per hour are you now saying you are charging that just because it was quoted?

You did not have to collect parts as you stated when we spoke.

I will pay your invoice but please keep in mind it was you who took months to respond and you only called when your accounts called for payment and I explained I was still waiting for a response to my query.

Got a much quicker response to this post!

Please can you advise where you received the information regarding how long our engineer was on site, assuming this was your tenant?

The engineer arrived at 14:15 but did not leave site at 14:42. The engineer was on site over an hour which we have timestamped on our job and tracking system. The engineer had also spent time collecting parts from suppliers.

We quoted 2 hours for the job which was accepted by you prior to us carrying out work. We quote and bill (like most companies) in 1 hours increments.

I have personally gone over this with you in our previous telephone conversation when attempting to recover the outstanding money you owe.

To date we still have not received payment for the outstanding invoice, even though works where completed last October.

Less than 48 hours after quoting

Less than 48 hours after quoting, the boiler was fitted, the engineers were, punctual, courteous, tidy and unobtrusive. I will happily recommend Protech in the future.

Excellent service and the guys who fitted the system where very professional and left the house clean and tidy when they'd finished.
Finished the whole job within the 2 days quoted and turned up when they said they would.

Poor communication.

Communication with this company was very poor. Unable to leave a message because mailbox full within an hour of completion of work. Office closed at a weekend. Requests for contact from the surveyor both on his mobile and email ignored. Contact telephone number was that of a third party.

Felt harassed for payment due to a reluctance to provide bank details for me to do a bank transfer.

Not understanding of older generations unfamiliarity and access to modern technology, I had to request hard copies of documentation twice as i do not have the equipment to print off documentation sent by email.

Would not recommend Pro Tech to friends or family

We are shocked and Surprised to see that you have left a 2 Star Review due to the positive feedback left on the engineers job sheet on completion of works.

In answer to the points raised in your review;

We apologise that you where unable to contact the office after the installation was carried out. This was unfortunately due to the building our office is located being temporary closed from 4pm due to building works and can assure you this is a very rare case.

Our office is shut over the weekend, however we do have an option to be transferred to an "Out of hours" engineer in the case of an emergency.

Our surveyor was not on shift to answer your emails or texts on Friday evening, however he did respond to you late on Friday.

Please can you advise on what you mean by the third party as I am unaware of any 3rd party answering any of our calls?

I am sorry you felt "Harassed" as per our "terms & conditions" payment of invoice is due upon delivery of works and this is usually paid by card payment. We did give you the Bank details to be able to pay on BACs.

Documentation is always forwarded on to the email address you give us on application, but can be sent by post if requested (this was done immediately after you responded to our email and requested to do so)

Customer service is at the forefront of what we are all about and we pride ourselves on giving an excellent all round service. So we would welcome the chance to speak in person with you and see what we can do to redress this.
