Lemington, Newcastle- Not 7 day per week access as advertised!
Unable to gain access to storage unit facility (Lemington, Newcastle upon Tyne) today (Sunday 5.30pm) to unload into the container. There is a set of gates before the Pink Storage gates that are padlocked shut. Called the contact number but after 4pm on a Sunday, no one available. Advised to contact via Whats App message, and did so, however, message unread and no reply. This is advertised as 7 days per week access up to 11.30pm. Having secured a friend to help with the items that need to go into the container, we will now need to go back, unload 2 cars, store the contents outside, only to have to repack both cars and return tomorrow when 🤞 we can gain access!

We’re really sorry for the inconvenience this caused, particularly after you had arranged help and travelled to the site with two cars of belongings.
The padlock on the external gate was not put there by Pink Storage and unfortunately was completely outside of our control. As soon as we became aware of the issue, we went straight to the site and had the unauthorised lock cut off to restore access.
We have since attempted to call you and have also been in contact via text as we genuinely want to get this resolved for you.
We do feel the review is a little harsh towards Pink Storage given the circumstances and how quickly we acted once we were made aware, but we completely appreciate the frustration it caused you on the day.
Hopefully we can get this resolved with you directly.

Good for short term, terrible for long term
If you want short term storage (like 8 to 12 weeks) they'll do fine. If you want long term storage, AVOID this company. They will pull you in with a nice cheap offer (and I'm not talking about the introductory price) and then increase the price slowly over the course of months. After the introductory offer was over, I was paying about £92 a month for a upper level unit. About 2 months later, they increased it to £139, then about 4 months passed and another increase to £163 and then again, another increase to £203.
Now, these prices are competitive, a lot of other self storage places have similar prices. What annoys me, and what made me move out of my unit and go to another company, was the lack of price transparency. Its like they are relying on how difficult and a faff it would be to move out. Proper dodgy business practice and quite sh*tty of them.

We’re also always happy to review pricing with customers who contact us about an increase, and where possible we will work with them to find a suitable rate.
We certainly don’t increase prices because we believe customers will find it difficult to move their belongings, and we’re disappointed that this was the impression you were left with.

Claimed I had not made payment however, this had been done just they had tried to charge an old card originally.
They proceeded to email me saying that they were going to auction all night belongings and I know how to speak to the agent in regards this. They disposed of priceless sentimental items and were impossible to get hold of to try resolve the issue.
They had also started charging weekly what my monthly rental charge was without any notification.

We’re sorry to see this review; however, we do need to clarify the circumstances.
Your account had been in arrears since February, with multiple weekly invoices remaining unpaid. We made repeated attempts to contact you by email, telephone and text regarding the outstanding balance but unfortunately received no response.
As per our terms and conditions, due to the continued non-payment, the unit was eventually passed to our auction partners. They also attempted to contact you through multiple channels before proceeding with the auction process.
We would also like to clarify that Pink Storage operates on a weekly payment basis and has never offered monthly payments, so your account has always been billed weekly.
Importantly, our auction partners have been attempting to contact you for several weeks regarding sentimental and personal items that were identified and can be returned to you. Unfortunately, they have also been unable to obtain a response.
The unit was therefore not auctioned because of a single payment attempt on an old card. This followed a prolonged period of arrears and repeated unsuccessful attempts to make contact.
We appreciate that this is an upsetting situation; however, the process was followed in accordance with our terms and conditions, and the account remains in arrears.

Excellent service and so convenient to use. The unit was v clean and smelled lovely too, a good start. Easy to get to and pull the car up right outside. Very cheap for first six weeks on £15 a week. Used the site in Pontprennau, Cardiff. Using it for storage when moving house.
