Great experience!
An overall great experience, building independence, confidence and maths with fun and enjoyment!

e recently visited PGL for a residential trip and overall had a great experience. It was much more cost-effective than other residential trips we’ve done previously, which was a big plus.
Most of the activities were outdoors, and we were very lucky with the weather, which made the experience even better. The children really enjoyed the activities and there was plenty to keep them engaged.
There were a few periods of waiting between sessions, and some of the children became a bit bored during those times. A little more structure or additional small activities during the gaps would have helped.
The food options were great and the centre did a good job accommodating the children’s different needs and preferences.
The staff were generally good—some were absolutely amazing and really brought energy and enthusiasm to the activities. However, a few staff members seemed to lack the same level of enthusiasm.
PGL @ Dearne Valley
Good choice of inclusive activities for all ages including the adults. Great team of staff who took care of our needs from start to finish. Ideally situated just off train station platform. The children had a great time and can't wait to return.
Great first visit to PGL
This was our first visit to PGL Baschurch and I cannot fault the staff, facilities and overall experience. Our pupils came away brimming with confidence from all the experiences they wouldn't normally have, new skills and memories that will stay with them for a long time.
Amazing First PGL Experience
The entire team were so welcoming - it really felt like they were happy in their jobs and happy to be with us.
Great Organisation for reduced stress…
Great Organisation for reduced stress school trips. Well organised and supportive staff. Knowledgeable and support staff who are not used to the location. Safe Centre with everything you need. Accommodation great for the pupils and staff are well looked after.
Safeguarding concerns
Our child attended a residential stay at PGL Marchants Hill. What should have been a positive experience instead resulted in significant distress and serious concerns about safeguarding, staff competence, and organisational transparency.
During the stay, an allegation was made involving threatening language between children. This was handled extremely poorly. No proper investigation took place, accounts were inconsistent, and responsibility for the alleged comments was unclear. Despite this, our child was reprimanded and issued with a behaviour warning without being clearly told what they had done or being given an opportunity to respond. Staff intervention late at night was inappropriate and intimidating.
The situation escalated unnecessarily and had a profound impact on our child’s emotional wellbeing. When we spoke to them, they were extremely distressed, overwhelmed, and tearful. We felt we had no choice but to remove our child early because the environment no longer felt safe or supportive.
What has been equally concerning is how PGL handled matters afterwards. The official curtailment records are inaccurate and minimise the seriousness of the situation. Requests to correct this were refused, with PGL stating their system does not allow free text input. Safeguarding concerns were repeatedly reframed as “behaviour management”, despite the involvement of alleged threats and multiple children leaving the same room early.
Communication throughout was vague and defensive, with repeated attempts to justify actions rather than reflect on failures. Requests for transparency, safeguarding explanations, and basic accountability were met with generic responses and the assertion that the matter was “closed”. There was no meaningful acknowledgement of the distress caused and no evidence of reflection or learning. I have no confidence that similar situations would be handled differently in future.
Due to the seriousness of the concerns raised, safeguarding and data protection matters have been escalated to the appropriate authorities.
Based on our experience, I would strongly caution parents and organisations considering PGL to seek clear reassurance that safeguarding procedures have been reviewed and improved, and that appropriate staff retraining has taken place, before committing to sending children into this environment. The lack of appropriate investigation, poor communication, inaccurate records, and unwillingness to reflect accurately and engage constructively raise serious questions about safeguarding culture and standards of care.

worst trip ever, I will find you moe.
it was so horrible, there was a wee stain on the bed, the toilet wouldnt flush, the meat wasn't actually meat and no one knew till they tried it, I felt sick to my stomach, some of the harnesses were ripped, not to mention a weird staff member who was rude to me and my friends and said if there was a fire drill he would come to our girls dorm and stick his head into our dorm without knocking, a bit weird if you ask me anyways I hope makka pakka haunts you moe.
PGL Liddington what a fantastic Trip
PGL Liddington Was fantastic and its a few small things that stopped me giving the 5 stars.
Liddington, was Clean & Tidy, Staff were very friendly, and activities were well looked after. Instructors were interactive and knowledgeable. we just felt catering need a little attention to detail and be less officious over the portion control.
Amazing staff
Some incredible staff that made a lasting impression on the children. Huge support in the planning stage to help children with SEN.
School Trip Weekend!
We had a great weekend at PGL Liddington. Playing netball and taking part in adventurous activities. The food was fab, you will never go hungry at PGL. The girls enjoyed every minute and the staff were very attentive and kind throughout the weekend! We will be back next year!

French trip with PGL
I would definitely recommend using PGL if you plan to take some pupils on a school trip. Staff is kind, patient and competent and the accommodation is clean and safe. There is also a range of different food for pupils to choose from and PGL is very accommodating regarding pupils' dietary needs.
Excellent trip with PGL
Excellent trip with PGL. Action packed and variety of activities planned. Great staff who make it fun and safe for adults and children. Food great and plentiful. Accommodation basic but met expectations (we didn’t book PGL for 5* rooms). We will definitely be returning
Great family adventure!
Great family adventure with my son at Caythorpe Court. PGL make half term easy as everything is planned. We had a fantastic range of activities with very enthusiastic and supportive instructors. My son also particularly enjoyed the plentiful food! Thank you PGL - we'll be back...
Just back from a really good trip
Just back from a really good trip. Excursions ran like clockwork. Food and accommodation were good.
Family weekend trip
Attended a family weekend during a school holiday and had a fantastic time! We all loved the activities we took part in, staff were all great, I loved not having to plan mealtimes and all at an amazingly low price (used a 40% off promo code).
My daughter wants to go back for longer!
My daughter had an amazing time. I was concerned that she wouldn't like it or mix with others, but she had an amazing time. I already had confidence in the safety etc and now I have also been impressed by the care taken of the children as individuals as well as the organisation & systems in place. Definitely recommend.
