Nothing but praise - Isabel helped with my issue - it was a mistake on my part and they were very responsive and efficient and were able to help me reinstate my pet insurance asap after noticing my mistake! - thank you! We now have both of our pets on this insurance and have no plans to switch! We also have them insured through the PitPatPet tracker and app which means if we keep our dogs activity above their daily minimum our excess fees are waived - this is amazing! We have nothing but praise and would encourage this provider if you were struggling to find the right insurance. (Previously with Purley Pets who were good but just slightly more expensive for a little less quality in my opinion! - although we had nothing bad with them just customer experience in general) 10/10 for pet protect! Unfortunately in common with a lot of insurance companies you insist on increasing your cost year on year despite being loyal for 11 years the price had exceeded all of the other prices on the market (for the same service) by over 133%, basically you were as good as telling me to bugger off with the prices for my renewal. Such a shame I am a loyal person at Heart and enjoy relationships with companies where we can both prosper however for some reason Insurance just doesn’t follow that model and you are a prime example.

My dog has recently had treatment of his toe and this eventually required the toe removing. My vets did an amazing job of looking after him and my insurance with Pet Protect sorted the bill for his treatment directly with the practice taking away all the worry of first paying and then claiming back, so we could give all our time and care to our beautiful spaniel and getting him back to full health again.

Anyone considering a pet should think carefully as the pet insurance industry ensures switching is likely not an option after a few years, and know you have little choice but to pay their huge rates.

Expect large annual increases even before paying excesses and 20% vet contributions, and despite the call centre staff being nice, expect to be told to take it or leave it.

Explained that my other dog of the same breed and slightly older, with a number of ongoing conditions, was insured with a different provider and was cheaper, and it made no difference.

Fully expect a copy/paste reply to this saying something along the lines of "we could not find your account. Please contact us to discuss" so that they look proactive, but know that they are not.

I have had my dog insurance with pet protect since she was 4 months, she will be 13 next year. I have just received my latest policy and after an increase last year of nearly double, they have now increased it again to 145.00 per month plus £150 excess fee for each condition claimed for and 25% of the bill for each claim made. They thanked me for my years of custom and understand if I needed to look else where for a cheaper policy outlining that most companies won’t cover existing conditions. Gracie is shitzu with on going allergy problems that she has to have medication for. So I would like to thank Pet Protect for making my policy unaffordable, knowing full well no other insurance company will cover her. Just beware as your dogs reach the time in their life when you are going to need to claim.

Astronomical and unjustified increases in premiums, despite having 3 pets insured with company and only making 3 small claims over the past 7 years. When you cancel they helpfully remind you that pre existing conditions won’t be covered by new insurers. We all know this and that this is why these companies know
they can get away with it. This is shocking treatment of loyal customers.

Our Maine Coone has been insured by Pet Protect since 2021. She underwent surgery for legge perthe in 2022 and 2023 and 2 claims were made. Our policy in the first year went up from around £12 per month to £13 per month, the following year increased to £33 a month. Our renewal this year has jumped to £57 a month. Like other comments they blame the underwriters, inflation costs, all that nonsense, complaints then contact you to tell you there is nothing they can do so are also absolutely useless. They offered me a £25 Amazon voucher to justify my policy increasing nearly 100% knowing that if I move my insurance elsewhere, my cat won't be covered for pre existing conditions. You may get a decent deal for the first year, but take my advice they won't stay loyal, take your policy elsewhere if you want a company that actually cares about the wellbeing of your pet and not how much they can profit off your unfortunate situation should you ever have to claim!
