My Menopause Centre stepped up when I…

My Menopause Centre stepped up when I approached them saying that my current HRT treatment necessitated multiple venous blood tests. I struggle with blood tests due to difficulty in clinicians both finding my veins and my tendency to pass out. I was looking for another method. I felt listened to and understood. We trialled a couple of options before finding the correct dosage which I felt was entirely appropriate. I was also supported when I needed progesterone that the NHS primary provider initially did not wish to supply - I could procure it directly until NHS processes had been met. My Menopause Centre also communicated directly with my GP and the experience was seamless for ongoing dispensary. I now feel back to being me - balanced mood; clear head and no sleeping difficulties. I can thoroughly recommend.

The amazing MMC

I have found MMC online and the professionalism i was dealt with as a new patient by the customer care staff as well as the amazing Dr Tonya, was unexpected. I felt listened and supported throughout the process. The consultation time allowed me to express my concerns and i received medical advice and care which has significantly improved my life quality. 10/10 to the team who helps women that have not been heard or supported before.

Thank you Clare

After my GP suggested I start HRT, they simply told me to go away, read about the different options, and let them know which one I wanted when they called me a few days later. As someone who knew nothing about HRT, I found the whole experience incredibly overwhelming. I made what I thought was the right choice, but within 10 days it felt as though my endometriosis had returned, so I stopped taking it.
After that, life became unbearable. The hot flushes, brain fog, lack of sleep, and so many other symptoms made everyday life really difficult. I then attended a free mini clinic where I met Clare Spencer, and afterwards booked a private consultation with her.
The difference was incredible. Clare took the time to explain everything clearly, listened to my medical history, and helped me find the right treatment. I still question why my GP never explained my options properly or even asked whether I'd previously suffered from endometriosis.
Nearly two years on (it will be two years this September), my life has completely changed. I'm still working on the sleep, but compared to where I was before, I couldn't be happier.
Clare was brilliant, and every penny was worth it. Thank you, Clare!

Hello Mrs D,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for your kind words.

We're sorry to hear how overwhelming your initial experience of starting HRT felt. We know that understanding the different treatment options can be challenging, particularly when you're already coping with symptoms that are having a significant impact on your daily life.

We're delighted that meeting Clare gave you the opportunity to have a more personalised conversation about your symptoms, medical history and treatment options. Ensuring that each person feels listened to, informed and empowered to make decisions about their care is something we care deeply about, so it's wonderful to hear that we provided the support and guidance you needed.

It's especially encouraging to know that, nearly two years on, you're experiencing such a positive improvement in your quality of life.
While we appreciate that sleep remains a work in progress, hearing that you're so much happier compared with where you were before is exactly the outcome we hope for.

Thank you again for placing your trust in us and for taking the time to share your journey. We'll be sure to pass your lovely feedback on.

Warm regards,

Just do it !

Where to start ? Firstly I hope that what I’m about to write is digested well and resonates enough for someone else to take autonomy over their life. I will try to be concise.
I hadn’t realised until reflection and education that the continual reduction of oestrogen had been having a profound effect for so long. As a meditation practitioner I chose to ignore and battle through my symptoms until I no longer recognised myself.
I was flat lining not depressed just felt nothing. A good friend suggested a chat with a private practise to cut out the faff. When I sat and wrote my symptoms which I had been ignoring there were around 20. From tinnitus to joints aching memory loss, and feeling flat to ( and this was the deal breaker )the feeling that I was going to die just as I was about to go to another night of interrupted sleep. The wonderful lady at the menopause center explained how the oestrogen feeds multiple areas of the brain and how the most one of the most recent oestrogen available
works. The progesterone again was explained with options to maximise effectiveness. Make no mistake, as an advocate for clean living it wasn’t a decision I made lightly. The prescription was available to me straight away and as they say the rest is history. All of my symptoms have gone (apart from a little belly) but at 56 I’m so pleased that I took a hold of my life with the help of the learned nurse I was allocated. Ladies I urge you not to suffer. This is YOUR LIFE and My Menopause Center will help you regain your vigour. Sent with love faith and healing to all 💪🏻☺️.

Hello Mrs W,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story.

Reading your review, it's clear what a profound impact menopause symptoms were having on your daily life, and we're honoured that you chose My Menopause Centre to support you on your journey. So many women spend years attributing symptoms to stress, ageing or simply trying to "battle through", so your honest reflection will undoubtedly resonate with others who may be experiencing something similar.

We're delighted to hear that your clinician took the time to listen, explain the role of hormones in the body and discuss the options available to you, enabling you to make a fully informed decision about your care. Most importantly, we're thrilled to hear that you're feeling like yourself again and that the symptoms which were affecting your quality of life have improved so significantly. Helping women regain their confidence, vitality and sense of wellbeing is exactly why we do what we do.

Satisfied client

We were offered the My Menopause Centre at work and I jumped at the opportunity to talk to someone with proper knowledge about menopause. I had a TA a few years ago and they stopped my HRT, which was really working for me. After when i was speaking to my GP he could not really tell me why this was, just that I could no longer take HRT. so talking to someone at the Centre allowed me to find out the information and talk to a doctor who knew about HRT and alternative products I could try instead of HRT. This is not a service a would have normally had access to so was so grateful it was available through my employer. The information was helpful and I have tried other things but just have to face I'm going through menopause and these symptoms are better than having another stroke.
On this occasion talking to someone who listened and explained was really helpful and informative.

I'd highly recommend a MyMenopause…

I'd highly recommend a MyMenopause consultation. My personal health is slightly obscure and I felt as though the assessment really gave me practical information around options and the risks associated. My symptoms have improved purely based on lifestyle choices I have implemented as a result of the assessment. I felt informed, psychologically safe and prepared to tackle my symptoms.

Kate saved my sanity

I came to My Menopause Clinic earlier this year feeling like I was at my absolute limit and questioning my own sanity because I was repeatedly told I was too young for perimenopause. Kate was the first person to actually listen to me and validate what I was going through. We put an HRT plan in place that would work for me, and while it's been a long 6 month journey, my state of mind is completely changed compared to last year. I cannot thank them enough.

Hello Shelley-Ann,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience.

We're incredibly pleased to hear that Kate made you feel listened to, understood and supported at a time when you needed it most. Being told that your symptoms couldn't be related to perimenopause can be both frustrating and isolating, so it's wonderful to know that Kate was able to provide the validation and guidance you deserved.

We know that finding the right HRT plan can sometimes take time, and we're delighted to hear that your perseverance has paid off and that you're feeling so much better than you were a year ago.

Your feedback means a great deal to Kate and the whole team.

Thank you for trusting My Menopause Centre with your care, and we wish you continued health and wellbeing on your journey.

I would definitely recommend!

After not receiving the help I wanted at my GP surgery, I went online to find a gynaecologist. In the course of my search I found my menopause centre which was basically what I wanted! To discuss my problems with a female who would understand where I was coming from! Dr Clare Spencer was charming sympathetic knowledgeable- gave me some great advice and helped significantly to improve my condition. I would definitely recommend the centre to anyone with female problems who wants to be heard!

Unrelated symptoms may be your hormones!

I started have heart palpitations 2 years ago and it was during the reading of my ECG results that the consultant mentioned that sometimes these things happen during perimenopause. It was as if the penny dropped for me: I had been experiencing a bunch of different symptoms that I considered unrelated to each other (digestion issues, skin issues, sleep issues, mental well being) and I suddenly thought, “what if all of this is hormone related?”. I tried to see my GP, but was told I was too young (which isn’t true - perimenopause can start way earlier than people think). I decided I needed to take matters into my own hands. I reached out to My Menopause Center and had such an amazing experience: doctors who listened to me, offered real practical advice and solutions and helped me to understand what was actually going on. I can’t say enough good stuff about them: worth every penny and I’m now living a much happier healthier life.

Would not recommend

Sadly I was desperate to try to find some help and support around my surgical menopause after breast cancer. We decided to invest in a private consultation. Sadly I was left feeling completely lost. I was told nothing I hadn't been already. I Fed back my disappoinment to the clinic. My clinic letter had incorrect information and someone else's name on it. They offered me a second phone consult which really was no better. I was promised they would come back to me following a letter to me previous oncologist. 12 months on after chasing I have still heard nothing back. Complete waste of money and time and this only gave me further disappointment and heartache.

Menopause life savers!!

I can not recommend the clinic & service they offer enough!! Literally life changing.

After not knowing if my symptoms were menopause related, booking a consultation & having all the symptoms explained in detail, myths put to rest & a very reassuring conversation that I definitely wasn’t loosing my mind, my only regret is not booking the appointment sooner!!

What a lovely, reassuring conversation, for something that can be so life changing for every woman who experiences it to what ever extreme.

Worth it financially & time spent.
