I'm still waiting to get an offer or my phone back. I sent my phone via Special Delivery and when I hadn't even been told it had been received yet despite knowing it had been signed for days before they informed me that it will be "at least" 5 more working days before they even inspect it. Wish I'd come on here before using them for my sale. They are disgrace and shouldn't be allowed to trade.
BEWAR Probably a scam. PLEASE USE SOMEONE ELSE.
What a surprise. Wish I had properly read these reviews before using. Took my phone, havent given me the money.
Customer service chap was sarcastic and unhelpful. "[Name]". Theres only "[Name]" who answers the phone despite claiming to be part of a multi billion pound organisation. Not prepared to follow the so called order through to conclusion so i've lost my blackberry now as they have it and wont pay out.
WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE SCAMMING IDIOTS
Send my blackberry in after being quoted £25. The first excuse was that it was blocked on the CheckMEND database. It took me 2 weeks to get that sorted with the provider without issue. Confirmed the status as cleared with MPX and they revised my £25 quote down to £6 claiming the home button did not work. This was blatant lies. they obviously have chimps as phone testers as the phone was fully functioning and in excellent condition.
Do not under any circumstances use this company. they are SCAMMING IDIOTS.
1 star is too generous
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!
If you look at the FAQ's on the website, Why is the original price different to the price offered on receipt of handset? This should be the first warning sign. Yes they will offer you a good first price but by the time the phone arrives they will have found a non existent problem with it.
I was quoted £104 in vouchers to sell my blackberry torch. On the receipt of my phone my quote was changed for £104 to £3. The reason that was given is that the screen was scratched and needed to be replaced. Having sent the phone well packed and unscratched. I was very unhappy with this NEW quote . I rang customer services to ask if I could have my phone back as the original and revised quotes were very different. I spoke to a very miserable sounding employee, who told me the phone would arrive within 5 working days which it did. I will never use this company again what a bunch of scam artists. I am now going to sell my phone to a reputable company mazuma as they have never let me down.
Good experience
I was a customer of this company through Vodafone, as Vodafone use them for their buyback scheme. I was offered £73 for my Blackberry Bold 9900 on upgrading my handset, packaged it all up extra carefully using the original box and sent it off Special Delivery. Having done this, I started to see the negative reviews of this company online and really started to panic! Review sites such as this are excellent, but it is such a shame that people are more inclined to post about negative experiences, rather than positive ones they have had in dealing with a company. After a day of completely unnecessay worrying, I received confirmation my phone had been tested and that it qualified for the full payment of £73 which will be credited to my Vodafone account. I would certainly use this company again!
Excellent Service and got the money that was offered!
A Class Service, took 2 days to process my iphone 5 and got £302 and clear funds into my bank account, not sure why there is so many bad reviews, but this is a top company and will use again, and again.!
Horrible bunch of scammers
Sent off a blackberry curve which they offered £58 for. On receipt they said it was damaged and offered £20 odd less. I said no and they increased by about £10. Again, I said no and they sent the phone back. There was nothing wrong with it, it's just clearly a scam! Sent on to Fone Hub who were the next highest bidder and they sent the payment as agreed within 2 days! That's how it should be done!
Can't complain too much
Got a quote online for £109 for my Galaxy SII (the highest I could get on the web). Sent my phone in via their free post option, paying a little extra to have it tracked. They sent me an email 2 days later, when it was received, to say that due to the phone being on a different network, it is only worth £90. I still can't complain though, as £90 was still a fair amount for my phone, other quotes were around this price as well. I don't think it's right that they have no notes on what network they prefer, yet deduct money for your phone being on the wrong network....I think this is probably just a marketing ploy as you cannot truly argue this point. They did however give me the opportunity to have the phone returned if I preferred to sell it through someone else.
Scam scam scam!
I sent my Samsung galaxy s2 to them recently as they quoted £108 for the handset and stated that they would pay more for unlocked phones. I have just received an email to say they are going to give me £25 as the phone had a pin lock and was locked to a network different to the one declared. No where in the selling process or in the confirmation email did they ask which network my phone was registered to, in fact it stated I may receive more as my handset is unlocked. They also stated that they are giving me a reduced rate as the phone was locked; this is not the case, it was the sim that had a pass code not the handset itself. Lastly, they did not state anywhere that I had to send the handset within a set time frame. I understand that quotes may change dependent upon the time frame but I posted the handset within 10 working days at least. If I had known they would have paid me so little I would never have sent them the handset, let alone paid £6 for the privilege! If anything, I will be steering clear and telling others to do the same as I feel I have been robbed! Do not send them your phones! I have contacted them and they have agreed to send my phone back to me but after reading the reviews I am not holding my breath that I will even receive my original phone back. My phone was in perfect working order with no scratches or marks at all. I am absolutely angry and disgusted with these con artists!
must read my story! very bad and cheating company. they even broke my handset.
i sent my new refurbished blackberry 9320 to the them. it should be 57 pounds, but they reduced to 43 pounds as they say my phone is lock to 3 network. but i haven't found anywhere they write down that could be a reason to reduce price. so i emailed them and ask free refund (they normally charge 10 pound if you reject the reduced price). as they know they are cheating. so they agree to refund my handset with free of charge. after that, i sent my handset to another company which said they dont reduce price out of the reason my phone lock to 3 network. but when the new company received my phone, they found my keypad, scroll and volume buttons does not work properly. But I haven't used my phone since i got it. i only sent it to Mobile Phone Xchange, but when Mobile Phone Xchange received my phone, they didnt say my phone has problem, they only said my phone is lock to 3 network. but after MPX returned my phone, it doesn't work now. so I am sure they broke my phone and returned to me. maybe they are unhappy with me. cos i said they are cheating and i might complain them, and they refund my phone free. so they just broke my phone and made me lose money in any company. How ridicules they are!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOREVER!!!
disgusting staff very rude and unwilling!
Sent a phone via special delivery in the hope they would receive it the day after and process and pay the following day! Granted the phone arrived the following day however was told it can take up to 72 hours for it even to be checked!! After reading the reviews on here I should of gone elsewhere! I suggest everyone reads these reviews before sending a phone to them!! AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE!!!!
DISGRACE - Apple iphone 4s FULL working order - quoted £200 offered £41 !!!!!!
Cannot believe this. apparently it had water damage. which it defiantly didnt. When upon ringing them - the chap said that even if its been in your pocket in the rain or condensation on it, it displays as water damage ... even though it was in full working order, they will only give me £41 ... and when i said no, send it back, he said, oh well we can give you £30 on top... and i laughed... wtf? -- DISGRACE seriously!
Don't go with these. TIMEWASTERS!
Scam company!!!! Please stay away ppl
I sent my iPhone 3s in full working order off to these ROBBERS in good faith and was promised £41 only to find a week later they put £7 in my bank with no txt or email to confirm what they were doing?!
What a joke company please stay away from them as they put a really good price online to get the customers then once they have ur phone they give u much less for it than what they said!!!!
Don't use these con merchants
New iPhone 4S 3 months old, perfect working order they quote 216, then say it has severe scratches and needs a new screen so can only pay 126!!! Heard this before if not read a couple of comments below....if my property is not back with me in 48 hours I will be taking this further, does anyone else want to?
Disgraceful experience. I wish I had not done it!
I have sold my phone to Mobile Phone EXchange in March 2013, after being promised to be paid GBP 62 pounds. To my surprise, as soon as they received my phone, which was in full working order, they sent me an email with a final price of GBP 10. They sent me lots of pictures that did not look like my phone and mentioned several faults which my phone did not have before it left my residence. After receiving their email, I replied and demanded my phone back. After a few weeks of waiting, nothing happened. When I called, they informed me that they had sent me my phone via UPS.
I contacted UPS and they informed me that my phone was going to be dispatched within a couple of days. To my surprise, I received an adulterated package with nothing in it. I immediately reported it to both companies who then told me that an investigation would be taking place. UPS informed that someone was going to collect the empty envelope to help with the investigation. A person came in and collected an envelope. A few days later, I called UPS again to chase up for the resolution and they informed me that a reimbursement has been approved and that I should take that up with Mobile Phone Exchange as they had to send out all the paperwork. Since then, it has been a nightmare. Several months have now passed and I still haven't received my phone or a replacement for it. After several phone calls made and emails that I sent to them, nothing has been done and the customer services doesn't seem to have a clue of what is going on.
I feel frustrated and violated as I was expecting that an smooth transaction would be easy to be completed; however, the problem seems to be getting out of hand.
Nothing but a scam
Quoted £67 for a Nokia N8. Finally got an e-mail three days after I sent the phone quoting £10 due to "severe scratching" on the screen. There were a few minor scraches at the edge of the screen when I sent the phone (I read the description of full working order and "minor scratching' was not mentioned at all), but mpx kindly attached a photo of the "severe scratching" to reassure me that they are right and I am wrong. Unfortunately for them, the photo they sent me was not even a picture of a phone. In fact, I've spent a sizeable proportion of my evening trying to ascertain what it actually is. No luck so far. Needless to say, I have requested the return of my phone. Ignore the good reviews; I very much doubt that they are even real.
My phone has now been returned and sold to Envirofone for the full working order price of £50.06.
Great!!!!
Excellent company gave me the price as intimated and money in my account the same day. I would highly recommend them. Have used them more than once.
Rip offs, lying company - dont use!
This company quoted me £123 for a full working order iphone. I had the back of the phone fixed as it was broken (costing me £25) and sent it off special delivery (£6). I recieved an email from them a few days later stating the phone had scrates and a broken back, which made it now worth £26 - less than what I had spent sending it to them! The email had no contact, address, phone number or email address on (was a 'noreply email address') so I had to dig around the website to find an email address. I wrote to them explaining my issues, the photos were definatley not of my phone as far as I was concerned and saying how could these now equate to the phone being worth so little! I read all of the T&C's before sending the phone, and although it does have light scrating, this doesnt make it non working. Anyhow, they then offered me £56! Doubled the amount with just an email! This proves that the phone was worth more & they wanted it, but are just prepared to 'low ball' to get phones cheaply. I then rang up, had the phone reinspected, which they say does have a crack on the back. Currently I am waiting for the phone back, what a useless company and I dont appreciate the opportunities they take to rip people off. I will sell this phone for more than they offer, or ill claim back from royal mail if theyve damaged it, but one suspects Mobile Phone Exchange are a devious bunch of rip off merchants!
Do not use this site.
We used a compare site and MPX were offering the highest price for our Blackberry (£68). We sent off the handset and a couple of days later we received an email offering us £11 as the 'phone was damaged' this was not the case, and when I called to complain they immediately offered me £32, this company are con men and should be avoided at all costs. We have since sent it to another site (Mazuma) got £58 with no hassle, first class service. To sum up, do not use MPX as they tried to rip us off!
