Considering 105 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people frequently complained that customer service representatives and managers were completely unhelpful, unresponsive, and constantly failed to properly resolve ongoing vehicle problems. Consumers also noted severe mechanical failures, repeated repair issues, and disappointing build quality after purchasing their expensive cars from local dealerships. Very Poor management at Mercedes Benz West London

My car was booked at Mercedes Benz West London more than three weeks ago to replace front air bags and update software. This was supposed to be done same day. Every time I rang I was put on hold and they played all their irrelevant sales promotions. Total deliberate waste of time. When eventually someone answered they ended the call. Tried several times with same result. They have my car for two days and I have no idea when I could pick it up.

Zero customer focus

I have been trying to get a part replaced at Mercedes Benz Bromley After Sales centre. It has taken over 10 calls, and we're still not there. When you do call, you get passed from one department to another (and their telephone system disconnects you half the time along the way), batons get dropped between people regularly, people don't do what they say they will do (call or email you), no one talks with each other there, and no one brings it together for you. You are at the mercy of their bureaucracy. And no one seems to care when you raise the issue or talk about how bad the overall experience is - they only talk about their little part of the bureaucracy. No one seems to are about or be able to do anything about the overall experience. The one person who heard me out (the receptionist who initially took my call just today) said I would get a call from the manager, which was great. I told her please to correspond by email instead as the lack of responsiveness to date left no paper trail and drove no accountability. So she said a manager would email me. In the end, I was called, not emailed, and it wasn't by a manager. (This was already after over 10 calls and 4 weeks of back and forth - simply to book an appointment for a very simple parts replacement.). There is plenty of other frustrating detail I'm leaving out here, but the bottom line is that things are very disorganised there, and no one is focusing on the overall customer service. It's a shambles. And I don't lay this at the feet of the individuals I've interacted with - this is a management problem. In the end, I've decided to order the parts, pick them up myself, and get the work done elsewhere. (They also can't provide any service on a Saturday, which is difficult for folks with 9-5 jobs during the week.) In short, zero customer focus, and I would not recommend using them if you can at all get what you need elsewhere.

Tom Savage Solihull Sales Advisor

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I had an outstanding experience with the Sales Department at Mercedes-Benz Solihull. My advisor, Tom Savage, was absolutely fantastic – extremely knowledgeable, kind, and straight to the point. He made the whole process smooth and stress-free, and his professionalism and attention to detail were second to none. A perfect experience from start to finish

I called mercedes stevenage 2 times…

I called mercedes stevenage 2 times yesterday to ask about cost of brake pad replacement. Left hanging on the phone, which just buzzed with no one picking up. Lady picked up and tried to blame me for not understanding what the first receptionist was saying !!!!! I reminded the cheeky gal that I was paying close to £600 a month and would have expected better customer service and she then backed down. Total disgrace for a luxury car brand

Beware of digital extras from mercedes

I have owned a mercedes for a number of years - over 15 in fact - my local garage has been excellent. However, I purchased a digital extra from mercedes directly - the navigation package. This has been a very poor service with no ownership of the issues. I paid a lot to get the navigation package over three years and after les then 6 months the over the air updates stopped and mercedes have offered no plan B - they refer to digital downloads from their website which is very clunky and expects you to have a usb stick with 50GB capacity?? There has been no empathy and a lot of bland emails trying to avoid owning the issue or working to provide a sensible solution. Part refund - not in mercedes vocab. Very poor service mercedes.

She was a credit to Mercedes but more importantly herself. Excellent customer care and kept me informed throughout. I can not recommend her or Mercedes Benz high enough. Many thanks

I'm sorry I have to change my rating…

I'm sorry I have to change my rating for them. But something happened to me recently that left me very disappointed, they took my car for repair, and when I returned it and found out that they had broken my mirror, I immediately went and told them, and they replied that it wasn't theirs and they wouldn't replace it, they insist that I broke it, and why should I lie to them. If I had done something like that, I wouldn't have gone to tell them at all, but I would have called my insurer.
very incorrect service

Mercedes may know how to build cars but…

Mercedes may know how to build cars but they certainly don’t know how to build a website that works properly. Too clunky, too slow to load graphics, too many irrelevant pop-ups and worst of all: you get the blue circle of death when loading a page. If only they realised how many potential sales they might be losing …

My Mercedes had a daytime running light…

My Mercedes had a daytime running light warning on dash intermittent and we went to Mercedes-Benz of Franborough to check. The staff is very polite and booked an appointment for us immediately. The technician Travis checked our car and advise to keep one more day so as to make sure the problem fixed. The checking is very comprehensive and video and report were provided for us. I think the whole service is excellent.

I am scared to drive my car

I am scared to drive my car, Mercedes refuse to help
I honestly don’t know where to start here. I bought a brand new C-Class in August 2024. 2 weeks after I got the car it refused to start. A Mercedes Benz mobile technician was sent and managed to get the vehicle started (6 hour wait). The car flashes every single warning light, and plays a very annoying audible bong, until the battery runs out.
8 weeks later, same thing again, repeat process, car working again.
New Years Eve this time, same thing again, no mobile Mercedes techs available, so RAC are sent, can’t get it working so car is sent to MB Newcastle. They can’t find a fault, but have updated all the software so should all be fine now.
At this point I have lost all trust in the car, I have been waiting for 20+ hours for recovery, so I reject the vehicle with Mercedes Finance. After 8 weeks of waiting, they reject my rejection, because get this. Under UK consumers law they are allowed 1 attempt to fix the vehicle, which they have now done. Supposedly an authorised Mercedes Benz Technician sent by Mercedes Benz does not count as a repair.
Ok you win some, you lose some, but at least I have a working car, and I actually like the car.
15th March, car refuses to start again, I ring for recovery again(11.30am). They cannot get a technician to me until the following day. Andy the technician (really nice guy) who was the first person who ‘fixed’ the car back in August eventually gets my car started. He says to drive the car for a while to charge the battery. Which I do, 45 minutes later on a very busy A1 my car just dies doing 60mph. No power at all, no hazard warning lights, NO HANDBRAKE (it’s electric). I had to ring the police to get me off the road, I honestly thought I was going to die.
RAC eventually get me back to the dealer. I ring Mercedes Benz Finance to reopen my rejection (as it says to do at the bottom of their email)
I have now rang MB finance 12 times and each call has lasted no less than 35 minutes, all I get is sorry your case handler is on holiday, or I’m not a case handler. I have requested a call back from a team leader on 5 separate occasions, I have received no call backs.
On the 12th occasion I am told that they have not reopened my case yet, but she can’t do that because she isn’t a case handler. I request another callback (still waiting after 3 days)
Best thing the dealer cannot find anything wrong with the car, therefore they won’t give me a courtesy car, therefore I am forced to drive a car that nearly ended in my death.
It’s now 11 days since I tried to reopen my case, and I am still not aware if this has been done or not.
I’m paying a lot of money every month for a car that I am actually scared to drive.
Mercedes Benz Finance refuse to communicate with me.

I don’t know what to do, but in all of my 50 years of life, I have never dealt with a ‘customer facing’ department in Mercedes Benz Finance that is so inept, that they make mobile phone and energy companies customer service departments look like the best thing since sliced bread.

An update to this, Mercedes gave me no other option than to contact the Financial Ombudsman, they have found in my favour, and I get to give the car back without penalty, and I get a large proportion of my money back.
I must say it was a pleasure dealing with the Ombudsman, I was very hesitant to do this, but the process was very easy, and the staff were incredibly helpful.

FAILED M.O.T

I first went to Mercedes-Benzes in Swansea two weeks ago, as a Mercedes I had purchased about one year ago failed the M.O.T. due to the sub frame corroded, I HAD A RECALL OUT ON CERTAIN was told by a friend that MERCEDES models so I contacted the garage and took it in they done the job free of charge as a good will gesture, it cost me nothing but if I had the same job done where the M.O.T., was it would have cost me £3000, to put right and get it through the M.O.T. I have used the garage for an M.O.T. and it was reasonably priced, all the staff were friendly, helpful, and the car was washed and hovered out before I picked up. I intend to use them from now on I give them 5 stars.

MERCEDES RIP OFFS .

IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE MERCEDES -0.
THEY DO NOT VALUE CUSTOMERS SAFETY .
THERE BREAKDOWN RECOVERY HAD ME DRIVE ME VEHICLE HOME WITH FAULTY BRAKING SYSTEM .
POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE ABS FAILED ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON AND PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT WORK .
BECAUSE THE LIGHTS HAD GONE OUT WHEN THE BREAKDOWN RECOVERY TURNED UP HE TOOK THE CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE .ON THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST IT SHOWED THEY WAS A FAULT AND HE COULD NOT DELET THE ERROR CODE .BUT HAD ME DRIVE HOME .HE DROVE BEHIND ME TO MAKE SURE I GOT HOME SAFELY .BUT I FAIL TO SEE HOW HE COULD OF STOPPED ME HAD THE BRAKES FAILED .HE PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD .
HE TOLD ME WHEN I GOT HOME NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR AND GET THE FAULT REPAIRED .
I TOLD MERCEDES THIS AND THEY PASS IT ON TO RAC THERE BREAKDOWN RECOVERY .WHICH I HAD NO IDEA THEY USE A 3RD PARTY RECOVERY COMPANY UNTIL THE DAY .
RAC WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND SAID THEY DID EVERYTHING RIGHT .
MERCEDES WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY ALSO AS THEY WERE NO ERROR AT THE TIME OF RECOVERY .MY WARRANTY COVER WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE I DROVE THE CAR AFTER THE BREAKDOWN .WHICH I ACTED ON THERE INSTRUCTIONS . THEY SAID THEY FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO DRIVE A CAR WITH FAULTY BRAKES .
BECAUSE OF MERCEDES I CAN NOT GET MY CAR REPAIRED UNLESS I PAY FOR IT MYSELF .
SO MOTOREASY THE COWBOY COMPANY ARE DODGING A CLAIM AND MERCEDES GAVE MY INSTRUCTIONS WHICH HAS VOIDED MY CLAIM AND WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THERE ACTIONS .
THEY ALL DISGUST ME THEY ARE QUICK OF THE MARK TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THERE INCOMPETENCE .ALL THEY SAY IS GO TO THE MOTOR OMBUDSMAN IF IM NOT HAPPY .THIS IS GOING TO END UP COSTING ME THOUSANDS OF POUNDS IN TIME AND LOSSES AND ALREADY COST ME MY JOB BECAUSE I BUY A CAR FROM MERCEDES THAT DONT GIVE A STUFF ABOUT CUSTOMERS SAFETY AND THE PUBLICS .
OH AND THERE SO CALLED BREAKDOWN SERVICE IS FOR THEM TOO DO THE REPAIRE AND NO OTHER GARAGE .SO THEY GET MONEY FROM YOU FOR SERVICES BREAKDOWN AND REPAIRS .BIGGEST CON EVER .TWO OTHER TOP BRAND CAR COMPANIES GIVE BETTER SERVICE THAN THIS RIPOFF COMPANY .
THEY ALSO REFUSE TO LET YOU STEAK TO ANY KIND OF MANAGMENT AND RELY ON CUSTOMER SERVICE TO PASS ON DETAIL WHICH THEY CONSTANTLY GET THINGS WRONG .
TAKE YOUR MONEY TO THE OTHER TWO COMPANIES .SERIOUSLY .YOU WILL GET A GENUINE HONEST SERVICE FROM THEY .I WAS GOING TO UPGRADE MY CAR TO A HIGHER MODEL BUT MY MONEY IS GOING TO ANOTHER COMPANY NOW .
I WILL BE TAKING THIS FURTHER ASWELL .

Overpriced and overated.

Booked my vehicle a B180 CDi in at Mercedes Colchester for a major service (C) and the engine management light fault on 7/7/25. Prior to dropping vehicle off established the fault code related to the throttle actuator flap and advised the service staff. Later advised that a health checked of my vehicle revealed some faults and they requested authorisation to fix them. Some l authorised but refused to pay the extortionate price of £118.50 for a pair of number plates! However l agreed to have two new front tie rods at a cost of nearly £700. I believe a couple of days later l went to collect my vehicle and on driving home l noticed the steering wheel was not straight, very annoying as l had just paid in total about £1700 for the full service and repairs. I contacted Stratstone Mercedes Essex and Suffolk and explained the situation they booked the car in again at Colchester to have the steering adjusted. The very next day the engine management light came on, yet again l contacted Stratstone and they added this to be investigated. On the next Monday l dropped the vehicle off and was later contacted by the service staff stating the diagnostics showed the DPF sensor switch was faulty. I found that very odd and strange, as not only did it not show on the previous diagnostic check, l only had this replaced new about 7 months ago when l had the particulate filter cleaned by a specialist company. Eventually l agreed to have it replaced at a further cost of £265. However the final bill came to over £460, not quite what l expected. Another service staff member stated Stratstone charged £178.50 per hour labour! The figures still didn't add up and found l was being charged for the courtesy car which previous l was told no charge! I have since contacted other garages about how long it would take them to fit the same sensor switch. I was told about 15 to 20 mins! One would reasonably expect that a main dealership would be quicker yet they took three times longer! Hence the fact l was charged for an hours labour. On picking my car up for the second time l never even exited the customer car park when l noticed the engine management light was still on! I returned to the service dept and spoke with the manager and the fact l was not happy. She stated she would see if my car could be looked at again later that day. For six days l heard nothing then received a call from the service dept again. Apparently the fault now was the throttle actuator flap!! The original fault l told them about on first taking my car in and apparently this is quite labour intensive and the cost to fix it was going to be over £900 more. Having just given them over £2100 l was not going to spend another £900 +. So l arranged to recover my vehicle some fortnight after taking it in still with the same original fault. In conclusion it proves it doesn't pay to take your vehicle to a main dealer, as they rip people off with their overpriced spares and services. I had intended to change my vehicle and update to a newer model but with this and a further experience years ago with Mercedes of Colchester, it has made me change my mind to look for a different make. One good point is that l had a nice courtesy car 3 times but l would not want one.

In less than a year of ownership and worst experience with manufacturing default problems

In less than a year of ownership, I’ve already encountered problems with my Mercedes, something you don’t expect from a so called premium brand. I paid extra for the Star Warranty, trusting that I’d be fully covered. Yet, I was asked to pay for several repairs that are clearly outlined in the warranty coverage. These weren’t damages caused by misuse they were manufacturing defects.
The most serious issue was a failure in the seat sensor system. This isn’t something a customer can damage or interfere with; it's a clear manufacturer defect, which the Star Warranty explicitly states is covered. Still, I was told to pay over $1,600 for the repair in the Mississauga branch in Ontario, Canada. How does that make any sense?
The experience dealing with the dealership and Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre has been incredibly frustrating. The problem keeps getting passed from one department to another, and you end up stuck in a loop with no resolution. It’s emotionally draining and a complete waste of time.
When I contacted Mercedes-Benz Canada for help, the response from their supervisor was frankly unacceptable:
“The dealership has offered you a discount as a goodwill gesture towards the repairs.
Please continue working with your Mercedes-Benz dealership to reach an amicable solution.
Mercedes-Benz Canada will not be able to further assist in this matter.”
How is this a goodwill gesture when the repair should already be fully covered under warranty? It’s disappointing and insulting to receive such a response when your warranty rights are being ignored.
Now imagine how much worse this would be for a customer who isn’t fully aware of their warranty coverage. It’s extremely concerning.
To be clear, I’m not talking about some outdated model, this is a 2020 GLE 350. If you're buying a Mercedes for company image or branding, maybe it still makes sense. But for personal use, I strongly advise against it. The misleading information and lack of accountability from Mercedes-Benz are simply not worth it.
I sincerely hope I can sell this vehicle for a decent price and return to Audi because after less than a year, I’m completely done with Mercedes-Benz and their disappointing customer service not once but twice in less than a year.

Horror story

However over the past 7 months we have been treated miserably by your prestigious mark.
We have a service contract with Mercedes and pay £45 per month for 4 years.
On Thursday 3rd July 2025 we suffered a burst tyre. Rang the RAC for assistance under the current contract and were denied service.
Our car has continually been serviced at Chelmsford Mercedes.
The current contract includes a ‘FREE’ MOT alongside the basic service covered by our Service Agreement.
We have spoken with numerous personnel at Mercedes Chelmsford, Mercedes Customer Service and are no further forward.
We were promised that the fee we paid for the Emergency Call out would be refunded.
As of today Saturday 5th July 2025 our basic service remains missing for 2023 and 2024.
We have a spare tyre provided with our Mercedes and need your urgent help. The computer within our car keeps alerting us to tyre pressure.
We are both in our 70’s and expect the service we have paid for.
I implore you for your help as nothing is being done for us within your organisation. There are loads of words but NO ACTION.
UPDATE HAVE JUST DISCOVERED THE INEPTITUDE OF MERCEDES BENZ. OUR 4 year Service & FREE ANNUAL MOT were completed 2 days apart in January 2024. Yet MERCEDES AT CHELMSFORD PROVIDED THE FREE MOT WITH A CERTIFICATE BUT WAS IT CORRECTLY SERVICED AS PER OUR CONTRACT AGREEMENT. SINCE STRATHSTONE REPLACED JARDINE IN 2023 THINGS ARE SO BAD BAD BAD.

Edit 10th July 2025. Confirmed our car was never serviced. Our car has an inbuilt computer and when each service takes place this returns to ZERO ie 0000
Today we have travelled 4214 miles since December 2022. Not serviced December 2023, December 2024 now at July 2025 over 900 DAYS OF MOTORING WHITHOUT BRAKE FLUID AND OIL CHECK. WE PAY ON CONTRACT FOR THIS BASIC BUT SAFETY CRUCIAL SERVICE. STILL NO NEWS FROM MERCEDES CHELMSFORD. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOWER!!!!!!

Mercedes A200D

Mercedes A200D
Purchased a Mercedes A200d 16 months ago from Mercedes Bedford and have had constant problems with the rear camera making a loud clonking noise every time it comes out and goes back in. We have been in 3 times to rectify this but we have been told this is a known problem and it is what it is.
We have had passengers in the car and have said what on earth is that noise.
We are very disappointed that Mercedes Bedford have not sorted this out as it is quite obvious it is a mechanism problem.
After sales service is very disappointing.
In hindsight we would have purchased a different make.

My car broke down and the RAC took it…

My car broke down and the RAC took it to Marshalls Southampton. It was engine no start and the roof not working.I paid £1000 to have it repaired. The car was returned supposedly repaired. I had to call them within minutes of delivery to advise engine warning light on and roof still not working. They finally took it back in after some delay and again returned it with roof still not working. They are now saying that there are other problems costing approx £2700+ reduced to £1900+ to efect repairs. Roof is still not repaired and I refuse to deal with them anymore.
