Worst customer service that I ever…

Worst customer service that I ever experienced. Kept me on hold for 2 hours. Redirect me to wrong department. I have never had such bad customer service. I will be cancelling all my business with MBNA.

Terrible setvice

Terrible setvice. Long hold times. 20 mins just to be told to phone back another day. When my disputed charge is finally resolved im cancelling this card. Any problem is a hrs on the phone.

Terrible customer experience and…

Terrible customer experience and service, avoid it at all costs or be ready for long waits.
Their app and website have multiple glitches (one that prevents you to update your mailing address) and haven’t been fixed for more than a year.
Due to the above glitches, my replacement credit card got sent to my old mailing address.

JUST DON'T DO IT!!!

JUST DON'T DO IT!!!! I have been on hold 3x for over 20 minutes each time. like seriously HIRE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
The reason for my call, just waiting for new card, and due to error address wasn't 100 complete. I talked to a wonderful person last nite, and you would think yay a human, they can help me.. but alas no she couldn't, because they aren't open, which means I believe she was a call service? She couldn't even help on initial address update without typing to someone. Again she was wonderful, but this BS system is a joke!!
I have to call the fraud department, which technically doesn't exist because regardless of what number you call it all goes to the same place and you are forever on hold.
When as humans have we let greed run our everyday life and everything is automated and it's just a hurry up and wait useless game now. so mbna a division of td, I won't tell anyone a good thing about you, other than the lady last nite was very kind. Your SYSTEM BLOWS.... HIRE ACTUAL PEOPLE,,,,,

Terrible company policies!!!

Terrible company policies!!!! If i could give them no stars, i would.
-24/7 fraud line is no longer 24/7
-website is not updated to indicate this
-fraud team hours are even shorter than customer service hours
-on hold to fraud line for over 45 minutes
-No way to "freeze" your card yourself on-line*
-3 fraudulent charges occurred before i could talk to anyone

(staff is polite and kind though, when you finally get to talk to one of them, they know they are on a sinking ship, but they have bills to pay like the rest of us, it's certainly not their fault they are short staffed)

Will be cancelling my card with MNBA, as this is unacceptable customer service. (Again, their phone staff is not at fault, it's all company policy)

I have found out MNBA is a division of TD Bank. Which explains a lot to me, as my experiences with TD have been terrible in the past, I cancelled my services with them, too. Again, terrible company policies, staff were generally okay.

Disgusting, considering TD's profit margins. They should re-invest in their own company rather than their own pockets.

*(possibly there is a method to freeze your card if you sign up for mobile banking, but if their on-line and phone service is this terrible, I am certainly not going to risk using their mobile banking app!)

Worst customer service

If I am allowed, I will give it 0!!! My card wad locked and called the customer service to reopen it. Stayed on the line for 2 hours but nobody answered. So disappointed 😞 can you imagine if you lost your card or report a fraud and nobody answered the call?!

Unable to get past the verification…

Unable to get past the verification process.
My card is set to expire 09/23.
I called to deal some rewards points and I spent over 40 minutes with3 different people. They explained to me that the new card was in the mail and the expiry date of 09/23 was not correct so they couldn't help me.
The last girl asked, if at any time during the conversation we get disconnected, can she call me back?
I said yes, she verified the number.
When she said that she had to call the security to release the new expiry date, I told her that she could call me back, she told me they don't call back.
At that point we were disconnected.
She hasn't called back.
They were all extremely limited in their functions and were definitely following procedure.
I can see why credit card companies charge so much. They need to pay 3 people to do the work of none.
Very disappointed.
I have had this card for several years
Cancelling card after I cash in all my points.

This company not even deserve any…

This company not even deserve any single star. I closed my account for like nearly 6 months and I'm still getting charges. I spoke to agent for explanation and the explanation he provided is not even make any sense.

Us as a consumer does not have a protection for all this type of malpractice. A company like this MBNA should not be patronage by the consumer. Not recommended at all. Don't be fool like me.

Never trust MBNA...

I have used their card for 17 years, problem free except for two late payments within a one year period that hiked my rate. My card balances went high when I was preparing a house for sale, so my credit score dropped even though my payment history and all other factors was good. I paid all credit cards to a zero balance, and stopped using them, my credit score was rebounding. Surprised to receive a letter saying the account had been "closed by creditor". When I phoned they said they decided not to renew it, then closed it. I cannot login for statements now, had to request past 12 months by mail.

Account was probably closed by software, so nobody would have looked at it, but somebody could have phoned to get my explanation. My call was a complete waste of time, except to be able to see how badly they disregarded the reality of the situation. They provide an unreliable service, that can be pulled at any time without a valid reason. I have replaced it with a prime rate card on my wife's account at half my previous interest rate, and keeping another card, also at a lower rate. I would never consider applying for their poor service and products again.

Never trust MBNA

So, mbna quietly disabled my wife's card because they said her credit score went below the threshold. She found out about it only when her card got expired and she didn't get a new card. No any notifications about it either. Always paid on time, started paying off the balance and here we go, I can't use it anymore. Good to know how MBNA can backstab you. It's funny because in her card profile she still has some money available to use.

Agent Name Sophie the worst customer service at all. Called on June 16, 2023 talking with here and lack of knowledge she hang up twice my call because she can't answer or help me. So disrespectful. I am so disappointed client here!

Totally incompetent service provider!!!

My wife reported my card to be missing so, it was cancelled. It turned up at home later that day. I called MBNA to request a new card and was told it would be couriered. Couple of weeks later, still no card recieved so, called again and after all the security questions, on hold for a long time and much frustration, I was told it will be couriered out again! Now, week and a half later, still no card. Called again...all the security questions and was told a card will be sent out a week ago and to call back if I don't receive it by mid next week! Approx one month with no card and always worried about trying to pay for something...I work in London. Absolutely redicuous!!! It time to switch to a different credit card company.

raccomend it to your enemies

everytime asking a thousand time to type the verification code sent to your phone, for then not going anywhere and you need to do that again over and over and over until at some point, if you have the time to waste in this kind of service and luck, finally will work.
it's insane ! Unfortunately i got stuck with MBNA but i would definately NEVER raccomand it to anyone unless my goal would be to drive them crazy.
I don't even know how thigs like that could exist, this situation is going on for years as far as my experience goes.

Totally crazy lending policies

I've had an MBNA credit card for 26 years and this week out of the blue nI get a letter saying they are going to close my card with no real explanation.

Admittedly I haven't used my card for quite a time so they aren't making any money out of me.

When I phoned them for an explanation the girl had no idea why and had to keep going back to another department. I eventually had to raise a complaint with them to try to get the situation resolved. I was on the phone for 48 minutes by this time.

I got a call from their complains department a couple of days later. Again she had no idea exactly why they wanted to close my account.

The only way they would let me keep my card was by drastically reducing my credit limit.

This company's lending policy is nuts.
I have a great credit rating, I have 26 years credit history with MBNA what else do they want for Christ's sake ?

They will spend a fortune trying to attract new customers but are willing to lose financially secure existing customers who have a proven financial history. UTTER MADNESS !!

I used to really rate MBNA - now I view them as totally commercially inept

long time customer ... too many bad experiences

I've been a long time customer. I got a low interest credit card and then they doubled the rate for an entire year because of one payment that was a day or two late. When I asked them to change it they refused to make an exception and don't care at all about keeping me as a customer. They also increased the rate on a balance transfer from 0% to 19% without informing me at one point. I'm not sure why they care so little about customer retention.

Stay Well Away!

We have been with MBNA for many years, and took advantage of their balance transfer offers during this period. All completed with basically no hassle. That unfortunately has all changed in the past 6 months.

NOW, getting reps on the phone who are basically useless. Don't know how to do their jobs properly and leave long- time, good customers like us "holding the bag" afterwards, due to their incompetence and lack of training.

A LONG story, but suffice to say that an issue with their e-statements not showing up on time (repeatedly) has resulted in hundreds of excess $$$ in interest being charged to our account. This should have never happened.

Emails from us are now being ignored. Reps are lying about attempting to call back, hours of time wasted....but this is too much $$ lost to ignore so not giving up.

Be forewarned and do yourself a favor, stay away from this company. When things go wrong, they are unwilling to take responsibility for THEIR errors.

Impossible to speak to anyone

Impossible to speak to anyone. I been trying to contact them for a fraudulent charge for weeks. By phone or chat and all I gert a a run-around. The fraudulent charge of $800+ still on my account. And the card they said would be cancelled to prevent further charges is still active.
