L&C were brilliant throughout my mortgage application. I would like to thank my mortgage advisor Amelia for her support and work during this process. With L&C I went from a decision in principle to a full mortgage offer within a week!

Extremely disappointing experience with L&C Mortgages. I found them unhelpful and, despite trying to explain my situation, they were unable to connect me with the correct person.

My Redrow appointment was actually cancelled because someone called Richard, who I had never even spoken to, apparently decided that I was no longer interested because I was supposedly looking at part exchange. This was completely untrue.

When I called to clarify what had happened, I eventually spoke to Richard himself. I found his attitude highly condescending and nonchalant, and there was very little effort to resolve the situation or understand what had actually happened.

For something as important as buying a home and arranging a mortgage, I need to feel that I can trust the people handling it. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with absolutely no confidence in L&C.

Having since read through other reviews, I will be taking my business elsewhere and using a local mortgage adviser instead. I would not recommend L&C based on my experience.

Great service throughout. I would highly recommend this firm. Dominic and Laureen were absolutely magnificent, professional, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. Excellent service from start to finish.

Awful, I used L&C mortgages a couple years ago and attempted use again this year to renew my mortgage however the customer service is absolutely appalling and gone extremely down hill! Constantly chasing up a response from Jessica, never get a reply within a reasonable time frame. I have a shared ownership and intended to fully buy but when explained I was fobbed on over the phone and told L&C couldn’t help me find a mortgage to borrow more as they don’t deal with fully stair casing and then selling and I would need to contact the bank myself. I then decided this wasn’t finically feasible so decided to just sell my share a few weeks later, however felt that I was made to feel like I was lying as she kept asking the same question over 3/4 emails which was extremely frustrating repeating myself when I had made it extremely clear why and how my circumstances had changed. Felt integrated and a shift of attitude like she just couldn’t be bothered to deal with the renewal. This whole process / communication was over 3 months long and never got anywhere due to the excessively long replies! They don’t take any accountability for the poor service they provide. Advisors shouldn’t take on multiple cases if they cannot support customers with their mortgage. Caused so much stress for what should have been a simple renewal, decided to go elsewhere and managed to renew with the same week.

Easy and efficient service. Stuart went through everything thoroughly and communications were great throughout. Have used L&C for a few years now and would definitely recommend.

As a single father of two I didnt expect much, yeah i have a decent job that pays well but in my situation (because the children live with me) I didnt think id ever be able to afford my own house, but i just got the keys today... Thankyou L&C, couldn't have done it without you!

I previously used L&C as a first-time buyer in 2016/17 and had a positive experience. Unfortunately, my recent experience was very different.

As my partner is self-employed, the application was more complex. We were repeatedly asked for documents that were not available in the format requested, despite explaining this several times and offering for our accountant to speak directly with the advisor.

We eventually requested a different advisor. Communication improved initially, but when that advisor went on annual leave, our emails and phone calls went unanswered for several days. After our original house purchase fell through, we needed to find a new mortgage product and continue the process.

When I mentioned I had found a potentially better deal elsewhere, I asked L&C to provide their rates in writing so I could compare them properly. Despite requesting this, I never received a response. Having grown tired of constantly chasing for updates, I decided to use Habito instead.

More concerning, I was recently contacted by the lender from our original mortgage application and discovered the case was still active. Despite contacting both L&C advisors for an explanation, I received no response. I eventually spoke to the lender's case manager, who confirmed the application had never been cancelled. This had the potential to affect my credit profile and interfere with my new mortgage application.

Overall, I found communication poor, follow-up lacking, and key administrative tasks were not completed. Very disappointing. ★☆☆☆☆ (1 star)

We recently used L&C for our mortgage and have been extremely impressed with the service throughout.

Brendan Walkes, our Mortgage Adviser, was fantastic from the beginning. He took the time to understand our circumstances, explained everything clearly and helped us find the right mortgage for our purchase.

Layla Boydell, our Case Manager, was equally brilliant throughout the application. She kept us updated at every stage, was always quick to respond to our questions and made what could have been a very stressful process feel much easier.

We were particularly impressed with the communication whenever there was an update from the lender, and we always knew what was happening with our application.

We've now received our formal mortgage offer, so we're delighted with how everything has progressed and are now moving forward with the purchase.

A huge thank you to Brendan and Layla for all their help and support. We'd happily recommend L&C to anyone looking for help with their mortgage.

I have used L&C on 3 occasions now. Both for obtaining best mortgage and re-mortgage.
On all occasions I've been highly satisfied. They have always answered the phone - so real human interactions, always polite, professional, very responsive and have always given me good results.
