Not worth the price
Not worth the price – disappointing experience with the Istanbul Tourist Pass
I used the Istanbul Tourist Pass for 3 days and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I visited Dolmabahce Palace, Ortaköy Mosque, the Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia – but entry to half of these places is free anyway, and for the others, the ticket prices were lower than the value of the pass.
I had issues at Topkapi Palace – although I arrived just slightly late, they refused to let us in, and the staff said they do not work with Istanbul Tourist Pass. The same happened at Galata Tower.
In the end, it’s not worth paying almost €200 for a pass that doesn’t cover all the major attractions. It’s more of a scam than a real value. I strongly recommend calculating the entrance fees separately before buying the pass.

Shorter than advertised but excellent
Martin was excellent and very informative. The ticket said 1.5 hrs tour but after 40 mins he helped us pass the huge queue for Ayasophia. Although short bypassing the queue was worth the tour being shorter

AVOID! Stressful, Confusing, and poor customer service
I strongly advise against buying the Istanbul Tourist Pass!
Firstly, it was not made clear before paying that the pass works with a credit system. With the 2-day pass, we could only do about 5-6 attractions. Once credits ran out, we were left to either miss out or pay extra. This was very disappointing and added unnecessary stress to our trip. The marketing makes it seem like you can visit as many attractions as you want within the duration of the pass which is simply not true. At the very least, be transparent about the credit system before people spend their money. We were also left with around 50 credits at the end of the trip which we couldn't use for anything, it would be nice to at least offer these credits as a discount towards a final attraction instead of wasting them.
I booked a pass for two people, but after paying, we were only given one login code, and our credits were combined into one account. This meant we couldn’t book attractions separately if we wanted to, luckily we didn’t plan to do different activities, but if we had, it would’ve been a problem.
Our experience on the first day stated off really bad. We tried to visit the Hagia Sophia at 9 AM to avoid the tourist rush. We arrived early but couldn’t activate our tickets on the app, it kept saying I wasn't within the location to load the ticket even though we were at the entrance. Staff at the mosque couldn’t help because they don’t work for Istanbul Tourist Pass, and their so-called “information point” turned out to be a shed used for storage with no staff around.
Customer service on WhatsApp only starts at 9 AM. I called around 9 and no one answered. Eventually, someone picked up and simply told me to "try again now" after which the tickets magically appeared. By then, the queue was long and our mood already down.
The same issue happened again at the Basilica Cistern. This time, customer service blamed it on my phone, claiming I didn’t allow location access and was using a VPN — both of which were false. I was then told to use the website instead of the app, which did work better, but again, this should have been communicated clearly before we had problems. The customer service trying to blame me for the issues caused by their poor app is just wrong, ridiculous and no one apologised for this.
Later that afternoon, we had a tour at Topkapi Palace, but the ticket didn’t mention any meeting point. I had to contact customer service again, only to be directed to a random page on their website for details. This kind of information should be printed clearly on the ticket itself.
I’ve never had to contact customer service so many times on a trip. I usually consider myself independent and I manage to figure things out, but this pass made everything unnecessarily complicated and stressful.
You're better off buying tickets directly from the attractions, the price difference isn’t that high, and if you arrive early (at least in April), the queues are very manageable. It doesn't make any sense that your ticket only becomes available when you're in close proximity to the attraction you're visiting, people who don't have access to internet outside their hotel would have a big problem, just make the ticket available in advance to prevent all these issues. From looking at other reviews, we were definitely not the only ones with this problem.
Save yourself the hassle. I wouldn’t recommend this pass to anyone.

False Advertising: Not All-Inclusive, Bad User Experience
The Istanbul Tourist Pass is a sham. Their all-inclusive claim is completely false. The program is basically a nominal discount to various attractions in exchange for a stressful and terrible user experience on an app that barely works.
The pass works on a credit system. I booked a two-day pass, which gave me enough credits for 5 activities. Considering that some activities took ~30 minutes, this really didn't amount to much. You have no idea how many credits each activity requires until you buy the pass. Unsurprisingly, the more popular activities require a huge number of credits: The Topkapi Palace took up ~1/3 of my credits.
You do not skip the actual line at the attractions. You only skip the line to purchase tickets. In the case of the Haga Sophia, I skipped a 5min ticket line but still had to wait in the 30min general admission line. But because the ticket wouldn't load (see below), I had to spend an extra 10min retrieving my ticket for the staff member to scan.
You can 'reserve' activities, but the confirmation emails provide no information whatsoever. To see details on where to meet for tours, etc. you need to go back into the event listing page. The app logs you out after every use, and it takes ~5min to log back in. It takes forever for pages to load. Nobody working at any the attractions knows what do do with your QR code. You need to navigate a maze of staff members to actually get into most places.
The 'discounts' they offer for other attractions don't require you to purchase the pass. These places will just match whatever price you show them on the pass's public event listing page.
Also unsurprisingly, their offerings are always the lowest-quality of the bunch. The Bosphorous Dinner Cruise featured food straight from the freezer.
Did I spend less than I would've by purchasing each activity a la carte? Probably by a little bit? Did I get my money's worth? Absolutely not.

Lots of saving and brilliant customer care.
I thoroughly recommend purchasing Istanbul Tourist Pass (ITP) for any one visiting Istanbul and wanting to see many attractions at a reasonable cost and save money by not purchasing tickets individually. For one price, IST includes many attractions, including skip the line fast track for popular sites. You can buy 1,2,3,4,5, 7 and 10 day passes therefore it caters for most holiday durations. I had only 2 days in Istanbul and covered most of the popular attractions. I purchased the ITP from UK and immediately, I received additional information by WhatsApp messaging including a contact phone number. I contacted by messaging and by voice call whenever I had a query and received immediate responses by the brilliant team at ITP.
