Zero Stars

This company should not be allowed to run as a solicitor firm. They lie to their customers, cannot be contacted and are causing huge financial loss to their clients. The way they have dealt with our case is awful. Imagine holding the key to completing a customer's mortgage but not even picking up the phone to them or answering an email.

A horrible company who is causing stress and anxiety to its customers when it should be helping them.

Hi Sarah.
Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns with us. We do acknowledge that the recent surge of instructions from one of our lender clients has impacted on our ability to communicate efficiently with customers and for this we apologise. We're working around the clock to process the vast number of cases we have received from our lender client and invariably this is tying up many of our case workers meaning we can't always respond as quickly as we would like.
We do appreciate it is frustrating from a borrower's perspective and we have taken a number of significant steps in terms of IT and personnel investment to increase our capacity but these do take time to implement.
We have sent you a private message.

This company is an absolute disgrace…

This company is an absolute disgrace and should not be dealing with other peoples money. They told me twice this week I would complete on my mortgage on 6th December. On 5th and 6th December they were not available to communicate, I spent 2 hours on hold and no answer to phone or emails. Nat west have made a huge mistake using them..... do not go anywhere near this solicitor. They are costing me a fortune.

This company is completely out of their depth

UPDATE: IF anyone else is ringing this company and then getting the answer machine, if you hold on after leaving your message you can press 8 to badge it as urgent and then 0 to go through to an Operator. The operator can put you back on the call (not much else though). After 2 hours and 35 mins on hold, I finally got through to them.

This company has never responded to any emails. I have held on for numerous hours waiting to get through to someone to discuss my simple remortgage completion.
The very few times I have managed to get through they make promises that are not carried out.
Every day I log into their portal to find they have simply pushed back the completion date.
There is no conceivable reason for such poor performance. Please try and go elsewhere rather than endure the total frustration that this company can inflict

Hi Simon

I'm very sorry to hear you've had difficulty contacting us and we appreciate it's frustrating when you can't get through on our phone lines.

Please rest assured we are in constant communication with the lender and working hand-in-hand to ensure cases are progressed as quickly as possible, and all parties are better prepared for major fluctuations in case loads in future.

What an absolute joke of a company

What an absolute joke of a company. Couldn't organise a stag party in a brothel!!!
I have been emailing them for 3 months and trying to contact them by phone is impossible!!
Even left a one star review on Google!! I have informed them that i am no longer going with Natwest for a remortgage but they still insist on sending me and my wife letters for information or to sign documents!! Having read the other reviews on here i expect i will get the same response as everyone else has that they are very busy and have processed over 35000 mortgages (where are their reviews then?)
You, Involegal are a joke and probably a major embarrassment to Natwest and the rest of the Legal profession!!!
Still waiting on the phone for someone to answer 21 minutes and counting!!

Unacceptable wait for mortgage

It has now been 9 weeks since we have applied for our mortgage with NatWest. We have spoken to NatWest on several occasions to be told that they are escalating our mortgage and someone will get back to us within 48 hours and infolegal will be in touch. Surprise surprise no one has got back to us. We have left 5 messages on infolegal’s answer phone and told them that it is urgent. We are at our wits end and don’t know what to do next. They just don’t answer the phones!! Any ideas ??

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Zero stars would have been more suitable.
I have never dealt with a legal team like this. My mortgage offer with NatWest was 8 weeks ago.
Why it’s taking this long is beyond me.
Called them twice. First time it took me ONE hour. The chap I spoke to was extremely unhelpful.
The second time I called, it took 30mins, then it went straight to voice mail. I left a message but no one has called back as yet.
I’ve sent an email of complaint to the partner. Says someone will be in touch in 14 days. Surprise surprise I’ve heard nothing.
It honestly feels as though it’s a scam!!!
Nothing professional, above board or reasonable throughout the whole experience!!
Feel totally stuck with building work all on hold due to their massive mess

Complain to your lender involegal are rubbish

Hannah at Involegal. This what I received by text last Friday? Update:NAT00400/32705 We are pleased to confirm that completion has taken place today. You do not need to contact us. Your completion statement will follow in the post together with any surplus monies due to you where you did not elect to receive the monies electronically.
My original message
If you read this I would give up on trying to contact involegal and make a complaint to your lender. You did not instruct involegal so you should just complain to the company using them.
I’m 2 weeks in and completed last fridsyv still waiting for additional funds to reach my account. I’m considering reporting Hugh James for fraud

The worst company ever.

The worst company ever.
To get through you wait minimum 40 mins if you are lucky, they will answer. Otherwise you get cut off automatically. Sent papers on time. Keep receiving letters about incomplete application. Once got through and it was confirmed all was good. 5 days later another letter. Today mortgage went out and wrong much higher amount.
Mess, mess and mess! Can't believe they are in business.

Awful. Use your own solicitor instead.

Re: NAT00400/39417
Awful.
They had all my documents signed and delivered for a straightforward remortgage on 22nd October. Legal sign off completed only 3 weeks later and now stuck a month down the line, no completion date set despite everything being ready.
Multiple messages and emails unanswered. Over 35 minutes on hold before any phone answer, also fruitless.
I complained to Hugh James' head of compliance who replied :
"I am sorry that you have been dissatisfied with the service provided by Involegal in relation to your remortgage. I have passed your email on to the management team of Involegal." I have also complained to my broker and Natwest also who apparently are "aware of the problem". No answer.
The unnecessary delay is costing me thousands as I am now on a standard variable rate with my own lender.
So:
Failure to provide a reasonably timely service
Failure to respond to communication
Failure to have an adequate complaints process
Unethical to take on more business when unable to cope with current work
I would never have agreed to use them if it had been explained what a poor service they provide.
I will be reporting them to the Legal Ombudsman as from what I understand the Solicitor's Regulation Agency does not deal with issues of poor service.

Cant contact them

I am remortgaging with Natwest : NAT00400/40401
I have emailed - no response, left messages via their website - no response and tried phoning - on hold for ever and phone not answered. . Today I held for 30 minutes before getting a recorded message to say they couldn’t take my call. They are asking me to upload a document - but as the only name assigned to the document is # I have no idea what they want.

It seems a shambles....and am trying to work out how to switch to an alternative...

Avoid!

Totally agree with every negative comment left so far. Cannot get through on the phone, 30 minutes to leave a message that is ignored, unanswered emails and mortgage that has been agreed and should have completed but hasn’t due to their incompetence. Like others have said this will now cost us money as we will be switched to a higher repayment rate. Due to no fault of our own! Agree they should be investigated and dropped by NATWEST.
Appalling!

Absolute joke

Absolute joke. My concerns echo that of others on here and if things get sorted I will edit this review.. but so far absolute joke. If you are struggling with levels of work why do I have to find this out by looking at your poor reviews?

We are due to change over mortgage from Virgin to Natwest on 31st December, this has been going on since September.. we even have the DD set up from Natwest but nothing from Involegal.

Think a call to Watchdog may be in order? Imagine going onto variable rate in a new year... plenty of people are going to face financial hardship.

Sort it out Involegal.. or subcontract it!!

And please, spare me the cut and paste response - it does you more harm than good

Worst law firm I have ever used.. never again

It seems we are not alone with those shower of S. Received a text 3 weeks ago saying a done and a completion date is imminent and nothing since. Now concerned that when it completes they will not transfer the money so the property we are buying overseas will be lost as we have a deadline looming before it goes back on the market
My local solicitor said he would have this done a month ago but I wasn't given a choice and told I had to use Hugh James. I am escalating twice a day but nothing... adding my voice, DO NOT USE THESE CLOWNS

Update as of just now. I finally got through after 34 minutes on hold Then spent 45 mins with a sympathetic agent who said there was no reason that this should not have completed 3 weeks ago. All the senior team had gone home so again I am left with an agent sending an email and asking a senior team member to call me tomorrow to set a completion date. Apparently it will be sometime next week now as it is Wednesday night... whatever that means

IF I COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY ZERO STARS…

IF I COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY ZERO STARS I WOULD.

They were instructed by NatWest for a remortgage for us back in October (a simple remortgage). We would normally use our own solicitor but "free legal" came with the mortgage we were applying for.

It's December now and in the past 3 months we just cannot get in contact with this company. They do not respond to emails. If you try to call them you will wait on hold for at least 45 minutes and then if you are lucky you can leave a message, if you are not they will just cut you off. If you get the opportunity to leave a message, it doesn't matter anyway as they will not call you back anyway.....

We are now incurring significant costs (hundreds of pounds) as our mortgage has reverted to a variable rate so will be persuing compensation. We have also complained to the highest level with NatWest (who instructed these cowboys) in the hope that they never pass them business again.

Please, please, please do not use this company.

I just wish we had just remortgaged with our existing lender and saved ourselves a load of grief.....

NAT00400/42394

Update 20/12/19 - so I was given a mortgage Completion for today and it actually happened. Over the last week things have moved very quickly. So to give you all of you a bit of hope, keep getting onto them via email and phone as eventually it will happen. Took 2 months for my remortgage to take place so not as long as some of you have been waiting. Hopefully they are now getting upto date and on top of things. Everything crossed for you and merry Christmas. X Update 12/12/19 - The private message started "Hi Samanta" so not a good start! and states they have asked their team to provide me with an update. Still nothing!! I have received one read receipt to one of my emails and guess what? still NO response! I have escallated this with Nat West in the hope they can sort something out. If you are thinking of using this company, think again. Left hand clearly has no idea what the right one is doing. I had no choice as it was who Nat West provided me with. Please read the other reviews before proceeding. If you have just started your remortgage with them i would seriously consider changing and using another provider. NAT00400/42394 - I have supplied my reference number in the hope that someone will look into it for me. I, like the rest of the people before me have tried on numerous occasions, both by email and phone and had no response/reply. I am currently also paying the SVR now which is a crippling 4.9%.
Please can someone look into this for me and advise? This has been going on since October. Whilst I appreciate you may be busy, leaving your customers in limbo is disgraceful especially this time of year which is supossed to be the season of goodwill.
Regards
Laura
