At the point of each renewal the policy details are reviewed and as a result the perceived risk posed by the policy details can change even if the details don't. It may be the case that on this occasion the underwriters of your policy interpreted a higher risk and the increase in price reflected that.
Please note, your policy details are not the only factors considered. Industry trends, rise in claim costs, how many accidents the make and model of your car are involved in throughout the year etc can all have an impact. Customers can help the price by having a clean driving history, however, an industry that runs on a worst-case scenario determines that external factors beyond your control may impact the price.

Works as expected
Professional, polite, clear enough, good app, good phone call support, new policy price was excellent, sub 900 pound for my 3rd year in total, 2nd yesr with hastings. Not had to manage/liase with them in case of a claim/accident etc, not got any points/mods/claims/at faults so I wouldn't be able to give my experience on them fronts. M21, driving a common 1.2l car.
