Unable to redeem

Unable to redeem. I phoned the number given on their site. It just gives you an email address which comes back saying they’re updating their site. Exactly the same message as another reviewer had 6 weeks ago! Yet they are still selling vouchers. You don’t close down a big part of your organisation for 6 weeks to upgrade your system. And if you did you would have someone answering phone calls and responding to emails reassuring people. Why are they still selling vouchers if they are no longer redeeming them

Questionable Name Changes

As of 06/12/24 Gourmet Guide has changed its name with Companies House to Boxing Breaks Limited. Looking at their website, it is nothing like Gourmet Guide at all. The two directors are the same, so they’ve just changed their name and are finding a new way to take people’s money by the looks of it.
My mother in law has bought us vouchers over the last few years but we cannot use this years as we cannot book and are being ignored.

Unable to redeem a voucher

Unable to redeem a voucher - constantly seeing message that they are revamping their web-site. Think the company has gone out of business with a lot of money gained from offering a service they are not providing. Citizen`s advice was no help. I feel that a lot of people will buy vouchers for Christmas gifts and they will be worthless.

I have now called 5 times to try and redeem the balance of my voucher. I then e mailed giving details of the restaurant I’d booked with 5 days notice I received a message saying ‘gourmet guide’ was not available, I’ve messaged again yesterday asking them to look into it, still no reply I can only think they’ve gone out of business.

Think this company is a scam now :(

I am getting very concerned as seeing online that this company is a SCAM now. I bought my bro and his gf a voucher last Christmas to use and they informed me they have been trying to book the past few months to no avail :( This was meant to be a nice gift they could have whilst I babysat my neices and nephew for them so they could have some quality time together so I am extremely upset and annoyed! I spent £125 which is a big amount for me and now it is coming to Christmas and I am going to have to give them this back as well as other presents which isn;t fair!

Can't use voucher

Same as a lot of other reviews.
I received a £40 Gourmet Guide voucher from my sister for Christmas last year and as it was valid for a year, I was looking forward to using it within the next month in the run up to Christmas on a nice meal out.
Nothing can be booked via the website, the phone number just has an automatic message, and an automated response also comes when contacting via email (Thank you for your email. Gourmet Guide is currently unavailable and updates are in progress. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. With kind regards, The Gourmet Guide Team.)
Really upset that my sister spent her money on a thoughtful gift that now seemingly I can't enjoy.

You will lose your money

We've lost our money.
Everybody report this company to the police, we have.
Those two people paid themselves over £700000 per year from stealing your cash.

SAME, SAME, SAME

Unfortunately, my experience is the same as everyone else's ..... No answer on the phone, and only an automated response to email. Would give zero stars, if that was an option ....

I have used in the past twice and had no issues. I echo the below that the website is not accepting bookings however I have emailed them and given them time to respond - which they have and they have arranged for my voucher to be processed. I think they are changing ownership. They don't deserve the low rating but could update the website to show they will still accommodate bookings. Try emailing them at an address which can be easily found.

Gourmet Guide Vouchers

As with many others on this site, I have tried to redeem a £70 voucher, bought my son last Christmas - without success. No phone, email or any other method of contact. The restaurant we intended to use has never heard of Gourmet Guide! This outfit are a sham and are committing fraud.

Sounds as though historically this was a thing but they’ve gone bust. Website, phone calls etc etc are not accepting enquiries. We’ve been done! Or rather my children have that purchased the voucher as a gift for us. I won’t even tell them. Disappointing 🥲

This company is now a scam company, do not use

Have used these several times in the past with no issues, although it does indeed seem on this occasion like they've taken the money and ran!
You cannot speak to anyone on the phone anymore and their email only spawns an automated reply - It appears I've lost my money and my dad can't now go for his meal as there is no way of actually redeeming the vouchers anymore.

DO NOT USE THESE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Unfortunately you will lose 100% of any money you pay to them.

Disgraceful

Followed their instructions after booking restaurant and completed form on restaurant entry on GG website however there was no way of sending completed form. Contacted restaurant who confirmed they had received no instruction or funds from GG. Tried phoning and email but just received messages saying their website is being updated. Their website has indeed changed but mainly consists of blank pages apart from still being able to buy vouchers. GG appears to be uncontactable. It now seems to be a scam. Voucher is for £250.
