Vouchers are nonsense
this company are offering vouchers for our restaurant and we don't accept them and never have. I've never spoken to this website. Please ignore them and please don't use their vouchers as they won't be accepted.
Don’t buy!
Received a voucher as a gift. Initial email response to voucher redemption request but nothing more. No response to phone calls or emails - no voucher received. Complete waste of money - do not buy!
Avoid at all costs
This is a scam. The website will let you buy vouchers but you can’t spend them as the company does not respond to emails and will not book the restaurant as they promise in an automated email. Please please please do not waste your money.
Would give them zero if I could
Would give them zero if I could. We had £100 of vouchers to use at a restaurant so gave one weeks notice and sent various emails - no reply. Then got one saying they’d do it manually for our chosen restaurant in Sheffield. I asked what I’d do next and since had nothing.
The restaurant said they’d dealt with them before and then the next person said they’d had nothing from this company. I bought my son vouchers and he’s given up even attempting to use them. My sister has been able to buy more vouchers. Hope they’re not for us as £180 wasted from last Christmas.
The meal is booked for 23rd at a super restaurant which we will be going to but obviously we are down £100.
Not even worth it
Not even worth it, received a voucher for Christmas last year, wanting to use it this month, booked a table for Sunday st the restaurant and contacted them 2 weeks ago to sort the vouchers as we had 2 to merge, was told that we can just do it on the site, the website is so shit it looks like it was made by some teenager in IT in year 10. Just awful, anyway managed to send them the codes for them to do it manually and said they would sort, we have contacted the restaurant and they have said they haven’t received it, now ignoring mine and my mums email. DO NOT BUY THESE VOUCHERS FOR PEOPLE! So so bad!!
Don’t even get me started on the phone lines that don’t even work, the only email that works is a bookings one all the other bounce back. SHIT SHIT SHIT
Scam
Scam. £180 paid, they told me the restaurant was all confirm, arrived and they had never heard of Gourmet Guide. I've called and emailed every day since (20 September 2025) no reply. shame on you.
Do not buy vouchers from this company!!!
Do not buy vouchers from this company! We received a gift of £100 for a meal out in a nice restaurant. However, we have been unable to use them, as the company are ignoring emails and not answering the phone! We booked using the online system in place, and received an email saying they would contact the restaurant and pay the money in advance. However, they didn’t contact the restaurant at all by phone or email, so we cancelled the reservation. We then emailed Gourmet Guide, but to date, no reply. It is impossible to speak to them on the phone, as the number just has a recorded message. Beware, they still seem to be selling vouchers on the website, but you will never get to use them! I have reported them to BBC Watchdog, so maybe they can find out what’s going on.
Scam
Scam. Do not purchase vouchers from this company. The redemption procedure doesn’t work. They don’t reply to emails. The phone is never answered.
Appalling
Appalling. Avoid. Do not buy these vouchers. Chances are you will be left out of pocket!
It's just a scam
Received a voucher as a gift and followed their procedure to book with a restaurant. Notified them a week ahead of the booking and got an automated "Thanks, we're processing your request" email. The restaurant didn't get the voucher in time, so I am now out of pocket. Gourmet Guide refuse to answer any emails and will never answer their phone. Small claims court beckons. Personally I feel they are one step up from a scam.
SCAM!
Bought vouchers for various family members last Christmas. None were able to use them in restaurants and unable to contact Gourmetguide for answers. Total scam. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!. You will lose your money.
Warning this is a scam
Warning this is a scam! I wouldn’t even rate them 1 star! Tried to redeem online with no luck. Calls not answered by Gourmet Guide. Emailed them to advise we were having problems received a reply asking for details of the booking. Provided booking details but no confirmation email received. Telephoned restaurant to check monies had been credited to our booking the evening before to be advised it hadn’t. The initial restaurant we chose is no longer in business and Gourmet Guide hadn’t updated their website. Do not buy these vouchers.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. Clearly a scam and shouldn't still be selling vouchers through their website. You can't get hold of them via phone, and judging by the other reviews this is a universal experience.
Our daughter bought us vouchers from…
Our daughter bought us vouchers from Gourmet Guide this last 3 years as Xmas presents. First 2 years we used them without an issue.
This year I tried to redeem the voucher at Gaucho Grill the day before we were due to dine there but upon dining Gaucho told us they had not received confirmation from Gourmet Guide. No problem we thought, it was probably not enough time for them to process the request.
However, this month we tried to redeem said Voucher (£60) at a different venue and I received an email from Gourmet Guide stating we had used it in April at Gaucho Grill!!!
I complained this was not the case via email and when I did not receive a reply I emailed them again with the receipt and itemised bill from Gaucho Grill clearly proving that £60 had NOT been knocked off the bill.
No reply and no means to phone of speak to anyone!
We have told our daughter not to go near them again!
I bought 2 x 100 vouchers as birthday…
I bought 2 x 100 vouchers as birthday presents. Neither of the vouchers were honoured and I can’t get hold of the company to get reimbursement. I have sent over 10 emails and called many times. The website is still taking your money but it is a scam. DO NOT BUY
Was bought a Gourmet Guide voucher …
Was bought a Gourmet Guide voucher what a SCAM you can not activate your voucher with the company i have tried calling emailing even a recorded delivery letter which was returned
Failure of Service
Process of obtaining voucher code was very difficult. Restaurant had not received any code from GG so we had to pay full amount. Can’t get any sensible response on email and phone call is simply ignored without any system for leaving voice messages. Given the extremely poor ratings and the numbers of people who appear to have lost significant sums of money we shall be contacting Trading Standards. Picked on the wrong people!
Absolutely awful business
Absolutely awful business, charged me for 2 £100 vouchers when i tried to buy 1, told me they would refund the second then have ignored me for 2 months since. Never received my money back and haven't had a single response to 10 emails. DO NOT BUY
Do not buy from this business
Do not buy from this business. I ordered vouchers which did not arrive in time and they said they would refund me but I never got the money and they ignore all emails.
CON AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
This company will scam you out of money. Tried to redeem a £75 voucher - no way of doing so on their website. Contacted via email and no response. There's no number to call on and no way to get in touch, as seen with many others with similar reviews.
