GO Outdoors - Barnstaple Reviews 

Our order was delayed by a day, not a problem with the young girl and gentleman working at 14:30 on Saturday 4th July. They both made our experience much better, even with the gentleman helping us refund our order and purchase a different one! We agreed that the staff at Barnstable Go Outdoors are amazing and super friendly!!

Ordered an item online to collect at the store.
Went to collect 45mins later, travel time.
Only to be told that the had not arrived yet 🤔. There was a basket full of them by the entrance, questioned the response, them told the paperwork wasn't ready.
Had order details on my phone, then told they had no proof of payment, showed bank account as payment proof.
Eventually allowed to leave with item.

Kevin was amazing. So helpful. Unfortunately they didn’t have the shelter we wanted, but he tracked one down in the Launceston store which we would have to drive past on our way to Cornwall camping. We can’t praise his customer service enough.
We would also like to say that other members of staff were lovely too, so helpful.

I arrived at around 7.15pm and was greeted immediately by a chap, possibly the eldest one. I then approached two staff who while engaged in their work, both stopped straight away and on asking about the walking shoes, one lad graciously deferred to the other and they were both affable. The lad with an unusual name gave me great guidance and insight into which boots were right for me. The lass at the till Casey I think was chatty and also very personable. I was engaged with every staff member and they all were happy in their roles.

Kevin looked after us. We wanted a new quality blow up mattress. We discussed the options. Kevin’s advice was essential. Good man

Kevin in the Barnstaple store was absolutely brilliant. He was so helpful and had lots of advice for us, as we were looking for a bigger tent and some more accessories for this years camping. We left the store with everything we needed and he was also very friendly and make it a happy experience for us all. Excellent customer service!

I was so pleased to find you now had a store in Barnstable. In the past I drove to Tuanton. Just bought a caravan so was equipping it. The staff were extremely helpful. As always, ended up buying more than I planned. Prices are still competitive and rarely beaten.
Can I make a suggestion. A few trolleys would be useful. As someone who now has to walk with sticks. A trolley is nice to lean on. Also encourages customers to walk more of the store. Not just purchase what they can carry. I would have looked at and purchased more items. Once again. Thank you to two female members of staff who were helpful and good humoured.

We popped in to look at tents and various camping extras. Kevin was super helpful and very informative and understood our needs without trying to sell us items that weren’t necessary. An asset to the Barnstaple store. Great experience, great prices and lots of choice. 10 out of 10.

We wanted to come in and get ourselves set up for camping, we dealt with Kevin, lovely genuine, down to earth guy and he was so much help! Deserves a promotion!

Was welcomed by Kevin, who was very happy to help me out with my purchase of a 12v/240v fridge/cooler. Good advice on which one to buy. I would highly recommend the Barnstaple store

I needed a wide fit and she was accurate in specifying the best ones. Loved the member discount 20% off too.

Kevin was great, very helpful in choosing our rent and floor mat. Great knowledge of the products and guidance on savings. Very kindly carried our bags to the car to load. Overall just a great and efficient shopping experience :) Thanks Kevin!

I was looking for a camping table & chair.
A nice young Man Connor asked if I needed help.
I told him I needed to buy a chair or table as I couldn't afford both.
He showed me a perfect table & then said i get the other one cheaper if I bought both.
He was very professional & polite.

Connor was ultra helpful, with nothing being too much trouble for him. Full of product knowledge and incredibly personable. This experience was like going back to when retail customer relations was practically an art form. Amazing. Great example of why customer-fronting, physical retail presence is still important.

Kevin (kev) in the Barnstable store was very helpful, being an indecisive person he was patient with us scanned multiple items for us for prices and stock levels. Would highly recommend anyone going to the Barnstable store and ask for kev.

Visited Barnstaple branch this morning in search of walking shoes. Great store - and I had it all to myself! Despite being the only customer I waited an inordinate amount of time to be served. When eventually I persuaded a reluctant assistant to help me, she could not have been more sullen and unhelpful. In total I saw four staff members this morning: one walked by en route to the warehouse, telling me that someone would be along shortly. Then the girl who finally served me after having been asked twice. And the the woman on the till (actually, on her phone) to whom I complained as I left, and finally a man who appeared out of nowhere as I was leaving. Customer service is virtually non-existent. The absence of other customers and the non-appearance of willing sales staff does not bode well. I left without buying anything. this is a relatively new store: I give it about a year.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
