The worst airport
The worst airport, staff, and service on earth, period. I had no word for this airport. Stay away if you can. Going through hell will be easier….
Awful experince
Awful experince, never again. I had a connected flight and I was passing border control and security check, as a result I was late for my second flight and plane was gone...I tried to ask a border control assistant if I have enough time, she said yes, also at the security check I told workers that my flight is in 15 min. They did not react so much and then 2 policemens were there for other reasons for some couples check and I started to explain that my flight is in 15 min. They told me "you had to come earlier". Well, I was in pass checking...how could I be there earlier? I cried and shouted my flight is leaving soon, police just ssid if you raise your voice again we will keep you. Moreover my bag stayed there and my sweater and they were not scanned. I just left them there cause my plane was already leaving. I just run.
Very rude airport staff, which says whatever they wish. How I come earlier if I had a connected flight? So, never NEVER ever I choose Frankfurt airport.
Very disappointing experience at the…
Very disappointing experience at the security checkpoint towards Gate A60. A female employee repeatedly raised her voice and used a hostile tone and aggressive gestures instead of communicating her instructions clearly and professionally. We were travelling with two tired young children and remained calm and cooperative throughout. Security rules must be respected, but passengers should also be treated with patience and dignity. I reported the incident and sincerely hope appropriate measures are taken.
No assistance available
I asked for assistance due to a foot problem. On arrival there was no help available. The coordinator was very unfriendly. He just told us we would miss our flight. No help, no alternative, no empathy.
We made it by ourselves to our flight due to a small delay. That was nice but after 2 days I am still in pain.
People don't ask assistance for no reason. It was chaos on that airport and nobody seemed to care.
Next time Air France again. CDG is big as well but the people working there are caring and helpfull.
Worst experience for passport control
Worst experience for passport control. Currently in queue for non EU passport. Have already waited 1 hour and 30 mins. Estimate another 30 minimum. Poorly managed with some queues short and others winding. Absolutely chaos and for a short business trip I won’t be using Frankfurt airport again.
Rude staff member
Incredibly rude staff member in the luggage department.
He volunteered that he was the manager.
I suggest he attends a customer service course and learns how to deal with members of the public.
Absolutely shocking behaviour. Not a good representative for Frankfurt Airport.
I would rate Lufthansa and Frankfurt…a minus 5
I would rate Lufthansa and Frankfurt airport as minus 5. Rude, inefficient and arrogant.
I had booked wheelchair assistance at all the airports on my route. Only Lufthansa and Frankfurt had none available. I almost missed my flight to Alicante due to no assistance to get to gate in time from lounge.
I also almost ended up having to sleep upright on a bench overnight, 3 months after a hip, replacement, as an assistance car I flagged down suddenly decided to dump me at Gate A13 instead of taking me out of the EU security area into the area which was non EU so that I could stay at the MYCLOUD transit hotel overnight located at Z, before my morning flight.
One car I tried to get on took me a few feet. The driver was an extremely large woman wearing a black pant/dress and bright red lipstick - car number was 31. She was the rudest of all the rude people I had to deal with at the airport. She should be fired. We who live in Canada would never talk like that unless extremely and deliberately provoked and even then…….?
I hope,to never have to book Lufthansa again and definitely not if it stops in Frankfurt.
The worst airport experiences…
One of the worst airport experiences I’ve ever had.
I fly overseas almost every month, sometimes even more, and I can honestly say I’ve had better airport experiences in developing countries and even in conflict-affected areas such as Afghanistan, Syria and parts of Africa. I never expected an airport in Germany to leave such a terrible impression.
The worst part was the immigration officer’s behaviour towards my mother and daughter. They mistakenly thought the immigration clearance was already completed and followed me out. Instead of calmly explaining the situation, the officer came out shouting at them, slammed his door, and told them “USE YOUR BRAIN” while circling his finger beside his head in a gesture implying they were crazy.
My mother does not understand English well, and this was clearly an innocent mistake. My daughter was also completely shocked. Watching my mother’s ashamed face after being treated this way was deeply upsetting. There is simply no excuse for speaking to passengers, especially an elderly person, in such a degrading manner.
And unfortunately, the poor service did not stop there. The airport had extremely limited seating, very few cafés/eateries with barely enough seats, self-check-in kiosks that repeatedly redirected us without working properly, long queues with only two assisted check-in counters open, a confusing tax-refund process, and unnecessarily repetitive immigration procedures involving both kiosks and counters.
What should have been a straightforward departure became an unnecessarily stressful experience.
I did encounter two staff members who were genuinely friendly and helpful. That was the only part of this entire experience that was worthy of the one star.

Only Terminal 3
Only Terminal 3. The smaller non Lufthansa airlines have poorly trained ground handling persons who open Check-in counters late and do not factor delays in customs and immigration. We showed up to the boarding gate running after numerous delays at immigration. The bus taking passengers to the aircraft was full and would not take another pass. The gate agents were incompetent and did not direct customers where to go afterwards, only to call.a number only works on German phones (or not at all) poorly customer service skills and poor management at Check-in. Why check us in to deny us boarding?? Makes no sense when we are running from one place to another There were helpful people we did find who could assist with telling us where to go but it came too little too late. Skip this airport for a few years until they fix the problem.
I would give this review a 0 if I could.
This airport is absolutely disgraceful. Once we reached passport control a huge mob had formed. It took over a hour to reach the booth where all the hallways were already filled with only 2 booths open. Once we finally had fished that process, our flight was long gone-( the plane left earlier than schedule, regardless of the early departure there is no way we would have made the original flight) So we headed to the service center where they were closed with no workers. So we had to rush to the service center floors above.Avoid this airport if you can!!
Parody on customer service
I have a decades long history of traveling through Frankfurt from the US. I was always content with the speedy passport control.
But now since terminal 3 was opened Frankfurt changed into a Parody on customer service. When I left the country my friend had no eu passport and had to wait for 1.5h in line to get a stamp into her passport by German border police. What’s going on? What is the border police doing there that is so important that people have to miss their flights??? I thought they have a problem w too many people illegally entering the country not leaving it???
Then we eventually arrived at the gate where staff explained in broken English and/or German the tedious processes. Can they not train people to learn the language properly??? Are there not enough people in Germany to hire appropriate staff??? What is going on ? why since April is none fixing the obvious problems?
Insane queue
Insane queue, zero communication, zero support. Must be 600 people to get through security. Staff are not engaging or helping at all
Terminal 3
Terminal 3
For 11 years in the making they could have at least provided decent services, Gate H has 3 coffee bars and all the same food choices and all great if you are not gluten free.
The only place to get any decent food was after accidentally going through border control to the main shopping area but then when you tried to get to gate H from there you had to go all the way out of the terminal to come back in and back through security again, which then took you down a poor range of food outlets.
Pretty disgraceful
Pretty disgraceful. Staff seemingly indifferent to distress of passengers with flights due to board, mo facilities for older people to rest, etc. The queue for a12.5 hour international flight was just under 2 hours. Bad service.
The new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport and waiting times
We used the new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport. We stayed at a hotel near Terminal 1 the night before, as we had a morning flight. Based on reviews from travellers and the introduction of the entry–exit system (biometrics for non‑EU travellers), I can confirm it is prudent to allow two-and-a-half to three hours to check in baggage, go through security, complete biometric scans, and clear passport control for non‑EU nationals. The train between Terminals 1 and 3 was not running, so we had to take a bus. I would budget the entire bus transfer between terminals plus an extra 20 minutes; if the shuttle train operates, it should take no more than 10 minutes. Signage to bus or hotel locations at the airport is not entirely clear, which may be related to the new terminal. For long-haul travellers wishing to connect through Frankfurt, it might be easier to avoid this airport and connect via London Heathrow instead. London has good connections into Europe. You would still need to complete entry and exit procedures when you arrive in the EU, but your overall journey from your home country into Europe (the U.K.) may be smoother. Most nationals can use e‑passport gates in the UK.
Terrible service!!
Terrible service!!! The queues are ridiculous and it takes forever to get through passport control.
The service for passport and security…
The service for passport and security was shocking. Really long queues unhelpful rude security staff - we had to change flights there. Avoid if you can we only just made the connecting plane
Shockingly bad
Shockingly bad. We had to wait over an hour to collect our luggage on a flight that landed from LHR at 3pm on a weekday. We were the only flight in the entire baggage reclaim area. Just totally unacceptable for a major European airport. Thank goodness we decided to overnight rather than transit the same afternoon
Worst airport and terrible customer…
Worst airport and terrible customer services in their shops. They are so rude and one lady was racist tries to serve the white people before us when we were clearly there first. Germans are really not beating the racist allegations
This is the rudest security staff and…
This is the rudest security staff and airport staff you will ever see. Worst airport of all time. The security staff bullied me during the search. Will NEVER have a connection by FRA again.
