I moved house in 2024, Equifax had the right street name and house number, but in a different town in a different county, but at least it was in Wales. They tried blaming organisations that supply information to them despite those same organisations confirming to me that they supplied the correct information. Took Equifax about 3 months to sort, after asking for proof of address on multiple occasions, and ignoring each one, before asking me to prove I didn't live at the wrong address. They eventually rectified everything, but not before I threatened them with the Information Commissioner.
Jump forward 2 years and I check my credit report, only to find they've linked me with a different address, this time in Plymouth, a city in which I've spent all of maybe 5-6 hours, back in about 1998. I raise a support ticket over the wrong address and two days later I receive a response. Which details the credit history of someone completely different.
This company have serious data protection issues, especially given they are one of the principal credit reference agencies in the UK, and the information they provide to their customers has such an impact on ordinary people. And yes, I have reported them to the Information Commissioner (again), and will be contacting the resident at the Plymouth address informing them that Equifax are sharing personal data with random people off the internet.

Diabolical. Doesn't use the official Royal Mail address system, then refuses to verify my address because it doesn't match my bank statements... which are naturally addressed to the official Royal Mail format.
Point this out to them, and they cite "system limitations" and repeatedly close the ticket. Customer service is a complete echo chamber.
How a company can run a service so ineffectually is beyond me. I would recommend going elsewhere, but regrettably, options are heavily limited.

Downloading the statutory credit report should work. I've been trying for days and nothing. I submitted a ticket and still waiting...

I started with Equifax in April trying to find my late husband finance details. It has taken over 3 months. What a merry go round, I knew they had to verify me but what a performance, rang (don’t bothered call centre abroad) so couldn’t really understand the caller, was asked to send various documents, so did, ( couldn’t scan them) so posted them, was given insufficient information needed more documents, that although ‘tracked’ they lost!! Sent more documents, sorry they weren’t in date, needed more upto date documents, this they finally told me three weeks ago, If this information was given on the first phone call or email this would have been sorted quickly. Only give them three stars because I finally got the details I needed.

I took out an Equifax subscription on 8 July while comparing my credit score with other agencies and cancelled it on the same day. Despite this, Equifax still charged me £14.95 a month later.
I called customer service, but they couldn't explain why I had been charged. I was then told they would refund me as a “goodwill gesture”, even though the subscription had clearly been cancelled before the charge was taken. No apology was offered either.
Refunding money that should never have been taken in the first place is not a goodwill gesture.
Very disappointing customer service and experience. This says a lot about Equifax.

Terrible communication and no correction was made. They used a connecter to get information on my bank accounts then refused to add it to my credit report after 2 weeks of back and forth.

Raised a request to have my mortgage on my account and it was handled by Angelika. She stated she couldn’t update the record as apparently the address my mortgage is registered to is not the address they have on file for me even though it’s the exact same address, made no sense whatsoever. She then immediately closed the ticket. Shocking experience and now I remain worse off for it.

I’ve got to be honest I wanted to get a credit score from Equifax because I wanted to see how much it differs from my Experian score.
Went to the website and started the process name address etc, went to the security checks, allowed bank checks etc thought I was all good to go. You then get sent back to the home page to register again? Thought that being odd I went to the home page and to log in. A message came up, further security checks needed. I phone the call Center and the young man said they wanted photo identification and other security checks. I thought Equifax were asking for a huge amount of identification, I don’t know what would happen if they had a data breach. I said to the helpful young man not to worry and delete my application which he said he couldn’t do and then hung up.
I appreciate security is a vital part of a business like this but I’ll be honest how much security do you need for a credit score?

Not a lot going on clickbait emails saying something changed in your report while nothing has changed maybe dates but nothing of note and the website is like built on some ancient technology tbh regardless it's a good way of keeping track of your credit score hence three stars also because you can get free updates as well but they take longer

The problem is, the amount of completely incorrect information you hold about me, your customer, which is used by HMRC and has caused immense problems when trying to access HMRC's services, particularly signing up for MTD. I am getting nowhere with attempts to get your information corrected. I am willing to send you a detailed list of the things that are incorrect, but speaking to your people on the phone suggests that this is simply not possible.
