I have been going to Energie Fitness in Tunstall for a few years and this is not my first review, with previous reviews being negative due to the poor management and treatment we were witnessing of staff and member.

However I felt I needed to update my review following the removal of the area manager as the gym has returned to being the place it was when I first joined with the staff no longer being treated appallingly which has bought the fun and happiness back that sadly dwindled over time, even with staff, we loved and who left returning.

I give a lot of credit to Elliott who is Fitness Manager, but is actually the only manager so acts more in the General Manager capacity. Elliott has been at the gym, through all the good and bad, starting as an apprentice and he really shines in this role. He knows the members, knows what we like and need and goes above and beyond to ensure all the little things that had fell out of sorts have been put back to how they were.

The gym is back to being a community, and I've never been in a gym that makes you feel so welcomed by staff and members. I miss when I don't go as I miss the laughs and chats that comes from the classes.

The staff are fantastic - they do an amazing job at making classes enjoyable and fun (don't tell them this though) and do it with a smile despite us moaning and winging throughout!

The gym has really turned itself around and is once again a place you want to be... the owner should be grateful for the Team that has achieved this as at one point I worried that the gym wouldn't survive with all the unhappiness that was being created by one person, that was allowed to remain in post despite numerous negitive reviews and safety concerns being highlighted and posted.

Well done to the Team for making this gym feel like a community again and somewhere you want to be! Elliott you are smashing it, and I'm really proud of you and how far you've come!

Great and kind people.

I've been a member of this gym for 12 months. There have been so many members of staff. Staff are treated apauley. No motivation bullying behaviour. Lack of leadership. I have no idea why Ravi was ever allowed to be a manager let alone an area manager. He is a convicted criminal fact. Information available on the Internet. Dishonorable discharge from the armed forces fact. Pestering young women in the gym. Fact. Bully staff members not giving enough rest time between shifts. No one in the stoke on trent area wants to work there. The place has a bad reputation with other gyms. The owner needs to take some responsibility. So many good staff have left. Head office need to start to take notice of everyone's comments.

I am adding this, not as a review but in the hope somebody from Corporate will see this review and take immediate urgent action and do a welfare check on staff at Energie Fitness Tunstall.

For months we have witnessed complete incompetent management of staff… all of which are young adults who should be supported and guided - not bullied and intimidated by the area manager who I see has loads of negative reviews on here naming him.

The gym has a high turnover around of staff, which isn’t surprising given the way they are treated.

Over the past month due to a lack of staff we’ve seen the 3 members of staff, one of whom is an apprentice and 2 who are newly qualified all aged 20 and under working long hours with improper breaks and rest periods. The law states workers should have a minimum of 11 hours been shifts, yet here we have staff leaving between 8pm and 10pm and then opening at 5am the next morning with an allowed 15 minute break during their long shift. The staff are clearly tired and exhausted.

They do this, with some working 200 hours a month on a 15 hour contract and are then treated like garbage. One staff member opened the gym at 5:03am and was given a written warning, another opened at 5am and has a disciplinary meeting this week as the gym should be open at 5am and not be being opened, despite staff not being paid until 5am. You want the gym open for 5am then pay staff from 4:45am!!

One member had an hourly rate in their contract which wasn’t forfilled, when they challenged they were told their pay was changing to minimum wage and it was like it or lump it. To date the months of incorrect pay has not been paid.

There is no support, development opportunities and I worry for their welfare.

A young female recently started and Ravi is like a letch around her. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with the way he stares and looks at her if it was me. A man who has a criminal conviction for how they treated a vulnerable female. Where is Energie Fitness’s due diligence???

What these staff are going through is not safe and it’not legal… but who do these young staff speak to when there is no HR or anyone else but the person who is treating them they way they are??? This is not safe and I worry something is going to happen to these young staff in regard to their mental health and this cannot continue….

Simply Ravi is a bully and should not be managing any staff. Why the man remains in a position looking at the dozens of reviews on here from both Tunstall and Wolverhampton members who are witnessing and reporting his disgusting behaviour.

Myself and others have emailed corporate for help but nobody has had a reply and nothing seems to be happening about this situation. If anyone harms themselves as a result of how they are treated, is Energie Fitness happy to have their name associated and connected to this for failing to do anything about the situation despite the numerous reviews that members are leaving at TWO locations???

Tunstall Gym is a huge disappointment. Despite claiming to open at 5am, it’s rarely on time—completely inconsistent opening hours. Staff turnover is constant, and the reliability is nonexistent. It’s in a great location, but that’s about the only positive. The real losers here are the paying members left standing outside, wondering if anyone will show up. Unprofessional and frustrating. Sort it out.

This place is brilliant, the staff are really friendly and this is a the best place to explore opportunity and have an amazing experience with the classes. I would really recommend and it’s cheap as chips 💪

I have a Gympass (Wellhub) membership. That's how I'm using the gym. I didn't get a pass or a code I can go in the door, even though I asked multiple times, and I'm coming to this gym over a months niw. Which means I need to stand outside the door, sonetimes for 10 minutes or longer, waiting for a staff member to open the door, which is never quick, as noone sits by the door or keep an eye on it. I did mention this all the fast affected members, noone is really hwloful about it. Going to change gym!!

Used to love this gym and the staff were fantastic, it’s been absolutely destroyed since the new area manager and assistant manager. Don’t care about the members or listen to their concerns, just happy to take their money.

Classes are cancelled with no notice or completely different than the timetable. Broken and dangerous equipment. No atmosphere. It’s time it was shut down and let someone take it over that cares about their members. Glad to be leaving.

I I had to freeze my account for a month due to medical grounds and wished to cancell my account. You have to give 30 days notice when cancelling(we were not told this when signing up was told could cancell anytime)So this 30 days freezing due to medical grounds covers the 30 days notice period. Money was still taken from my account when freezing.

No where does it say you must pay a month after you cancell you account just says must give a months notice.

Discovered I’d been charged for an extra two months without realising. Called up to ask about a refund, and the person on the phone was unbelievably rude—just kept repeating the terms like a robot instead of listening to what I was saying.

When I asked if other customers had the same issue, they just said, "Of course." So does that mean they just ignore people’s complaints? No matter how many times I tried to explain that I wasn’t told it was a monthly charge and had no idea I needed to give a month’s notice to cancel, they just didn’t care.

I even emailed asking for a copy of the full terms and conditions and the document with my signature, but I’ve had no response. Shocking service—wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Great compact gym with everything you need to get in shape or stay in shape what ever your goals maybe , wether it's bodybuilding or powerlifting weight loss or muscle gain or just to up your fitness levels and keep or get fit , lots of help and advice for newbies or the seasoned gym addict 😁 , very friendly gym and nice and clean with great bits of kit and also if you like classes lots on daily , free car park is a bonus and good opening hours and all welcome ..
Very happy with the gym and great membership prices , highly recommend having a look ok if you're thinking of joining a gym .

My 3rd week staff are lovely the gym is very clean looked after and for real cared for definitely recommend!
