Bought a 6500 w portable generator
Bought a 6500 w portable generator. Ran fine for 9 hours. When it was time to refuel the generator would not run for more than a minute or 2 at a time. never could get it to run normal. put in for a call back many times. Never got one. Finally when I complained to home depot where I bought it they contacted dewalt and the dewalt guy tried to tell me in the instructions you should never let the generator stop with a load, that it could damage the house or generator. Warranty does not address the scenario. In any event I won't ever buy any dewalt product because of their crappy customer support and the fact I can't trust the product.
Not even one star bought portable…
Not even one star bought portable grinder it did not come with tool to change or tighten cutting or grinding disc. I cannot use tool retailer won’t take it back Waited for someone to call me back at desalt customer service at a designated time of day that did not happen. I sent chat with details have not received response. Called again and told receivecustomer service inten minutes stillwaiting1/2 hour. I guess dealt adopted Japanese customer service which is terrible . I’m hanging out all my tools to Ryobi better tools and cheaper.
Dewalt used to have good customer…
Dewalt used to have good customer service, live people who could quickly understand and help identify and solve issues... Now they use automatic service that get stuck in a loop if it does not understand or give valid options to serve what you need.... I guess I switch back to milwaukee tools.
Bad quality drill driver
Bad quality drill driver. The hammer action wouldn’t turn off then the chuck just fell out. DEWALT not interested even tho I have extended warranty. Awful company. Won’t ever buy again.
Tried to order parts for the DCPW1000…
Tried to order parts for the DCPW1000 and they is no availability for several of them. Customer service is overseas which for some reason these large companies think will serve us best. Seriously, never again will I purchase a dewalt product
18v back stabbing dis to customers
I know everybody's frustrated with the 18 volt battery discontinuance. And now everybody's having trouble with the 20 volt drills which I think are a piece of crap compared to the 18 volt. I will never purchase another DeWalt tool again. The cheaper walmart, harbor freight, Ryobi etc was known not to last as long as DeWalt, but what the hell is the difference when you have to buy all new tools and hundreds of dollars if not thousands because they decided to stop making the battery. Bye-bye forever DeWalt
I tried contacting Dewalt re my drill…
I tried contacting Dewalt re my drill wont change torque speeds and a girl gave me a Mississauga number to call. Called it and the girl said she shouldnt have given me this number theyre too busy to talk to me. They are all out back fixing tools. She put me on hold for 10 minutes then the phone went dead. Dewalt is terrible.
Rip fence dw3268
I purchased dewalt battery operated 6 1/2 inch 20v circular saw discovered it did not come with the rip fence and told it was a special order so I order it part #dw3278 got it today…it doesn’t fit the saw I purchased! Very aggravating!! So now I am stuck with a saw that I cannot get a rip fence for!
Have a DWS780 saw and cutline LED died…
Have a DWS780 saw and cutline LED died (seems common). Contacted Dewalt and they confirmed it was a warranty issue (saw is practically unused, mfg a year ago).
Rep said (lied) that unfortunately they don't have the replacement part (power circuit board) so nothing they could do. Said they would just send it if they had it....
Well, the part is available, in-stock for immediate purchase. I pointed this out to the customer care guy....and they completely stopped responding. Sent multiple follow up mails...they refuse to respond.
I bought a DCD471B v1 angle drill and…
I bought a DCD471B v1 angle drill and 60 Flexvolt battery on August 5th 2023 from Home Depot at a cost of $579. I would appreciate DeWalt posting a QR code or link on packaging or on product information about how to release bits and other implements in the QR chuck. I spent two days trying to free an auger when all I had to do was pull the lower knurled collar towards the tool. This also stymied the Home Depot rental personnel as they couldn't free the auger as well and suggested I put in an RMA with DeWalt. If you don't work with these tools on a regular basis you may be led to sending in a tool for service when all that was needed was some proper instructions on the operation.
Unreliable Batteries!
I have been using many Dewalt Products for 5 years. Tools are very good!
CUSTOMER BEWARE!
Dewalt batteries will only last 2-4 years. I have 5 batteries go bad, and only been able to replace one because it was within in the 3 year period. Latest was the 20volt battery for my self propelled lawnmower.
Customer Rep Ivan took my report and said he would replace it for free. When he went to write it up, came back and said they were all out. He also told me that his supervisor would not replace it being out of the 3 year warranty. I ask to speak to his supervisor to no avail. This battery cost $265.00 new. This left me totally disgusted after Ivan all ready guaranteed me a free replacement.
Trying to get a replacement battery for…
Trying to get a replacement battery for one that died in less than a year. I have had a frustrating time getting a response or be able to contact to anyone. After reading other people's experiences with the same problems, I have to agree this company does not value it's customers who buy their tools. I have many Dewalt tools but I am ready to change brands. Shocking what a terrible customer protocol they have.

It took them two weeks to get back to me and advise that a product (stainless coil nails) on their website had been discontinued. However the product remains on their website. I cant see what they gain by this.
Horrendous warranty service
The warranty service is horrendous at the least. To start with, I needed to exchange multiple emails to have the repair arranged. My thicknesser DW733 was collected and I hoped all is good. Then, I received the email from repairs that stated that work has been completed and tool is to be returned today. No tracking, carrier name or information what repair was done mentioned. So, I waited in vain. They advised to contact after 72 hours. I contacted them via email but each email returned back. Today, I contacted them via phone and surprise surprise …I was given another email and have to wait another 24 hours for response then call again. I was told they cannot give me any more information. It’s so annoying. If I knew that earlier, I would have never sent my tool to the service. My advice is to avoid the warranty service at all costs. It’s not worth. Now, I don’t even know where is my £530 worth tool and if it was repaired or not
An absolute shocker of a company
An absolute shocker of a company, a warranty that isnt worth the name , i sent a mitre saw back for repair it was returned without being repaired but now had a damaged saw blade which looked to have been bent with pliers, i sent it back again, once more it was returned in worse condition than they received it with the nut on the pivot having been tightened up so much it couldn't pivot and the key for changing the blade was missing . Disgusting company
Dewalt lies to it's customers
I purchased a 12 ah battery on ebay brand new, it lasted approximately a year, when I contacted dewalt customer service I was told ebay was not an authorized dealer and was not covered, however I was told I would be given a complementary battery and I never received it, when I inquired about it I was told I would have go back through ebay several months later. I have purchased many batteries and tools from from dewalt. DAMN POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I WON'T BE PURCHASING ANYMORE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND
I have called the Service Center FIVE…
I have called the Service Center FIVE times, on different days, asking for help selecting tools. I owe DeWalt tools, but it seems I'll have to change to something else with a company that values service and customers.
Really poor tool labelling & warranty recording system.
Having bought 2 Dewalt tools on different days this week WHICH ARE PROBABLY VERY GOOD, I tried to avail myself of the extended 3 year warranty. What a palaver. The badges holding the data are inconsistent non-informative and do not ahem all the required information. Process should be simple. Enter Product code, serial number and date of manufacture. The product code on labels of my tools do not FULLY match any of the products listed on registration web page. There are other numbers on the "label" none of which suggest they are the serial number. One tool has the right quoted format for a date, difficult to see, NOT on the label but cast in the plastic. However I would not recognise it (2024 15-47), as a date without having to search the web for information. The other tool doesn't even have a visible date number! No idea whether the information I have provided is accurate or adequate or whether my warranty has been allocated. Registering for the warranty could not be more difficult!!
Defective mower, zero customer support
Bought a brand new lawn mower and used it less than 5 times in 2.5 months. It won't start up. Dewalt has offered zero customer support and puts the burden on the customer instead of standing by their product. It's on us to drag the machinery around to Dewalt approved shops that can evaluate and possibly repair the machinery. The closest shops are hours away from my home. Why is the customer punished because Dewalt is selling defective products? Bad business all around. I wouldn't buy a pencil from Dewalt.
I purchased a lawnmower from Home depot
I purchased a lawnmower from Home Depot. I used it twice and now it’s not working. I purchased it in May and Home depot says I have to contact Dewalt. I have tried to contact them and file the claim at least five times and I’m not getting any help at all. I paid the extra $75 for coverage and they are just giving me the runaround!
