BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS. Tried to send me a random Fedex Charge in the post and demanding me to pay with threatening letters. I will be taking further action if any unsolicited communication is made & I suggest you close the case immediately.

My case is as follows
I ordered some items online from a company called tattahome which to all intents and purposes advertise as a UK based company. After making payment and placing the order with tattahome I received the parcel in due course from fedex. I did not choose fedex as the delivery company it was chosen by tattahome but I discovered the items were coming from Italy. I never thought anymore of this at the time and In due course they arrived with absolutely no mention of any import taxes or additional fees were mentioned when the parcel arrived nor was it asked for by the fedex delivery person. In the past I ordered some jeans from America and they were delivered by Royal Mail and the relevant fee for import tax was due to Royal Mail which was paid by me prior to the parcel being delivered however in this instance with tattahome there was no mention whatsoever about any taxes or fees nor with the delivery from FedEx. Anyway subsequently afterwards I received an invoice for such fees from FedEx amounting to around £79
This I tried to contact FedEx but it’s impossible getting through on their numbers if you can ever find one so I emailed their customer service line with all relevant details and received absolutely no reply whatsoever. Thereafter I received written letter from control account stating I owed them the £79
I called their customer line and spoke to a very non understanding person stating it had to be paid or they would increase the amounts owed and take me to court for the amount. Not interested in the story at all I owed it end of as far as they were concerned
Fact I entered no contract with FedEx at all and was totally unaware these fees were payable otherwise I wouldn’t have placed the order in the first place
Today I have received an increased invoice for an amount of £102.78 stating if I don’t pay this amount within seven days they will charge another £25 to pass it on to their litigation department and no doubt just keep on increasing unless you bend to their demands

If anyone wishes to respond from this company please do so but to reiterate I did not have a contract for anything in the first place with FedEx so I suggest you go back to them and or send the supposed charge to tattahome and refund me in full

As a follow on from this I have this evening very reluctantly paid the £102 amount but realistically I shouldn’t have paid a penny. I cannot be bothered to go through the process any further and I hope that the amount chokes as many people as possible at your company. Absolute disgraceful behaviour maybe a refund in full would be good as it’s a totally unjustifiable amount that has been paid in the circumstances as detailed above but to be honest if you are in a similar situation don’t expect these people to understand or even contemplate anything other than taking your money off you
A lesson learned and I advise you to beware of the tactics of both this company, FedEx and Tattahome and avoid them with your largest barge pole

I was contacted by control account again by phone after this review went live. I once again reiterated by experience and AGAIN they were not remotely interested. The only purpose of their call was to ask me if I would change my one star review!! Unbelievable
Why would I do that? I told them the only way this review would be changed was if it was possible to give zero or minus star ratings. Just remember folks they are not interested in any way at all in your experience they just want the money and a five star review!! Absolutely no chance from me. Absolutely disgusting company and I hope they choke on the payment that I made. I sincerely wish I hadn’t have paid a penny now I really do

Agent deeply understood what i've talking and suggested several ways to resolve the problem beneficial to me
Clear communication and without prejudice. John listened as I explained where I was missing information on my dispute and provided assurance when I sought clarification on timeframes.
Looking forward to having the claim fully resolved once the appropriate review is completed.
On Christmas Eve I called up to get a surprise debt that wasn't mine sorted and was helped by agent 520, Sam.
They were polite, friendly, sympathetic and understanding. I was helped and they even investigated all the information I needed for everything. I really appreciated their kindness during my mild frustration and they made the experience so much easier.

The first contact from them was a threatening letter claiming previous attempts at contact that have never been received either from them or the company they say they are working for. They provide no details about the supposed debt on their letter threatening litigation (3 times in 14 lines) or on their online portal. I had to request additional information to even see their invoice, that details what amount is fees and what is debt!
I raised a dispute and they did then provide all the supporting information to prove they were not the scammers it originally appeared. A less threatening and more professional approach would go a long way to inspire confidence that you are not being ripped off.
I am considering a complaint to the actual company the debt is with, as if they had bothered to contact me regarding the fees, they would have been paid straight away and I would be £19.50 to the good as I wouldn't have incurred the collection fee!

Control Account claim to be collecting on behalf of DHL however in my case there is no debt to speak of.
They send threatening emails, texts, letters etc etc. They are offensive and rude.
TOTAL SCAM. Do not succumb to their tactics.
They need to be investigated by the financial conduct authority and have their licenses revoked.
EDIT: Within 24 hours of leaving this review Control Account contacted me to let me know they have closed my file. Please note they did not take account of their error, no apology was given but they would like me to reconsider my review. Absolutely abhorrent company. If you receive contact from them report them to any authority that will listen. They deserve to be shut down.

SCAM contact fedex direct and check if you actually owe what they say u owe 9/10 you will find the invoice from fed ex they are claiming against does not exist

It was a breath of fresh air to be able to talk to somebody and solve a problem. I have been trying to pay this invoice since I receive it . Very hard to deal with the company involved but controlaccount and their staff were so sympathetic and helpful and the matter was resolved in a couple of days.Very grateful
