I wrote to customer services 23.6.2006…

I wrote to customer services 23.6.2006 to try and prevent alcohol deliveries to my home as I have a vulnerable adult living with me who could suffer a medical emergency if he consumed alcohol.
The customer services asked for further information which I provided, however to date I have never received a response and have managed to intercept further alcohol deliveries made to my home address.
I am very disappointed in the lack of support from this company.

Absolute scam company

Absolute scam company. Ordered an app deal of two pizzas and get a free ice cream tub for £5. They claimed they had no more ice cream tubs so charged me double for the pizzas which I never would have paid that much for two small frozen pizzas them at turned out to be absolutely terrible quality. They hide their t&cs to scam people who try buy their deals that you will be charged full price if an item is unavailable. I called the store to find out they did have the ice cream so clearly a scam. Got completely ignored by the company so will never trust them again I know they do not care about their customers. Small money or not you cannot scam someone and then ignore them.

Have since found out that this has happened to many people -AVOID

Post Office - Coop Thornbury

Absolutely shockingly rude Post Office manager in Coop Thornbury named Aatika. I was paying in two high value cheques, one for 40k and one for just over 2k. I came in an hour earlier and there was a long queue so I decided to go home as I had two meetings to join. After the meetings I called the shop to ask if they could do a quick check to see how long the queue was at the post office. The store assistant told me it was only a couple of people. I thought, ok grand, I then went back. As I was paying in my two cheques I happened to mention that it had been busier an hour before. This for some odd reason set off the post office manager who kept saying that it was not busy etc. I asked her if I could continue dealing with the young chap who was serving me so I could concentrate on the paying in my cheques. Well she wouldn't let it go. I made a mistake on the sort code because she was harping on in the background about how I was lying that there was never a queue. I then corrected the sort code and she carried on, saying now I was the one causing a hold up as I didn't know my sort code. Well if she could have been quiet for 2 seconds so that I could think it wouldn't have been an issue. The second cheque did not clear the same time as the first cheque so my bank was trying to trace it. Communicating with her was awful, when I called trying to get a confirmation of the second amount all she could do was start shouting that I caused the issue. I said to her I didn't want to argue I just needed the number for Coop Banking to confirm the amount. I told her to stop shouting as I was not going to argue about this queue that she had a bee in her bonnet about that she said I should not have said as there was never a queue - she then proceeded to put the phone down. Great manger there.

CRAP fruit at Co op

The fruit in co op is absolutely TERRIBLE. I bought strawberries and bananas as I was staying at a hotel and bought them for breakfast. Had a few in the evening, they started to brown from being perfectly yellow the daytime of buying them. Next day, they started going BLACK I kid you not. Strawberries went all soggy and gross, so ended up just throwing them both away. Don't and I repeat DONT waste your money on fruit at co op because in the same day, it'll go bad.

Poor excuse for a shop

Co-op Rosehill, Aberdeen.
Poor excuse for a shop. Can literally be standing in the queue away to be served and they just change their mind and deal with the Deliveroo driver who's just walked through the door, no apologies, no excuse me a minute, just point blank walks away from us and deals with them instead. Ignoring in store customers for someone who just waked in the door is ridiculous.Standing waiting in the queue this morning, staff member walks in to the till area and walks right past me and ignores me and serves the person collecting an order who waked in after me. He then proceeds to start scanning lottery stuff and another person in the shop appears out of nowhere and says oh they're mine as he approaches the till. Not in the queue but somehow already getting served and I've been standing waiting.
You also need to teach your staff how cash works. They can't work out change. Several times I've had to explain to them how much change they need to give me cos they can't math!
Absolute shambles of a shop. You shouldn't be putting your in store customers who are already queuing be ignored for someone who just walked in. Get your head out your asses and sort this place out cos it's pathetic how bad this shop is. It's constant!

Inferior Basic Salad

I bought one of COOP’s mild & crispy salads on my way home as couldn’t get to Tesco. My goodness what a difference! The COOP version is just 80% just cheap lettuce and frankly the Tesco version is actually cheaper and much better.
Well I’ve learned my lesson and only go to the COOP in an absolute emergency. Most of their products are cheap and inferior!!!

Worryingly Dismal Accountability When Informed of Serially Abusive Security Guard

Absolutely appalling customer care. I’ve had to stop using my local branch because the aggressive security guard abuses me calling me a crackhwad whenever I try to use it. I’m sight impaired, he is a disgrace. I attempted bringing this to the attention of someone in customer relations over the course of several months via the Resolver website and after one cursory reply stating that they’d received my complaint I literally never heard another word from them.

So, to recap: the Co-op acknowledged receipt of an email of compliant about a disabled person being regularly abused and humiliated by a member of their security staff and then promptly went on to ignore me.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but this IS the supermarket that tries selling itself on that whole everyman image?

Snodland store removing bags from self checkouts

Store in Snodland has taken bags away from self checkouts. Understand this is to prevent stealing them for but for the sake of a 20p bag you have completely ruined the convenience of a self checkout. Now by this new procedure, I must queue, scan, then leave the self checkout whilst everyone is still waiting, to then queue for the till to then collect a bag. Absolutely ridiculous system and causes so much backlog.

Sick of the Co op membership offers…

Sick of the Co op membership offers scam. The one where you get a product money off reward for certain items each week. 5 times the price reduction hasn't come off at check out in the last few months. The till operative can't help you, they just tell you to contact their ridiculously complicated Customer Service joke. Trust me, you'll give up & hang up.

Awful

Awful. Constantly disappointed. Irresistible luxury dip selection was last night "treat". Ugh. Just some times the co op do promotions..they can be great. The following week never to be seen again.
Salt and chardonnay vinegar crisps are still the best.

The caring sharing Co-oP

The caring sharing Co-oP, What a joke! A couple of years ago my son slipped on the wet floor in a co-op store and broke his leg, we also got video evidence from in store cameras, did they care, NO could not even send him a get well card, today 21/7 we were woken at 5.40 pm by their alarm going off, did any one come round and say sorry, NO. the same evening we are unable to sit out in our garden because of the refridgerator system making such a racket,
complained several time by email to there head office and have not had any replies.
So really you should drop the caring sharing slogan and change it to (we dont give a monkeys) just give your money for all you over priced plastic wrapped gut bloating fat building crap food

Poor experience and I suspect I'm just a fraction of it all

Keep reading local news reports about trouble of one sort or another in the local co op convenience store.drunks kicking off, damage to the frontage, etc.the local shop is densely packed with booze newsstands.fags.plus a long queue for a tiny post office.all in all it's a pretty low class experience.end to end wall to wall freezer cabinets shelves full of unhealthy junk products for peep who don't cook.the staff are miserable and unfriendly.in fact downright personality disorders imho.ive just about had it going in there.not my circus not my monkeys.update.bumped into the town gossip yesterday.told him about the staff challenges.he knew instantly what and who it was.apparently the staff member in question is unfit for purpose and has been the subject of multiple complaints apart from their alleged conduct outside of work hours.itd the main store in the town so awkward.

Don't bother ordering as the driver…

Don't bother ordering as the driver will refuse to enter any buildings because they won't leave their bikes therefore if your a vulnerable service user your order will be cancelled and 3-5 days before you get any sort of refund. It's a very poor approach to customers and won't waste my time ordering again

Went to the coop in long lane…

Went to the coop in long lane Hillingdon, bought strawberries saying British Sweet Pioneer Strawberries. Origin Hertfordshire. Very misleading title. They were sour and not quite ripe in my opinion. Not cheap either. Use by date is tomorrow. Had plenty of time to ripen. Certainly NOT the pick of the crop, as it says on the packet. Will not buy this brand in future.
