As always after 3rd time buying from these crooks I should have learned. Bought 5 th wheel 3 years ago for $47000 and tried to trade today and all of a sudden it ain’t worth $17000 even after I instal... See more

First time buyer negligent and safety related issues
I’m a first-time camper buyer and purchased a unit from the Camping World in Lewisville, Texas. At first, the staff seemed helpful and honest. I asked very direct questions about the condition of the camper — including the tires, brakes, refrigerator, and undercarriage — since I hadn’t crawled underneath it myself.
I was repeatedly told the camper was in “great condition,” and that the only thing needing attention was a small washer for the refrigerator.
Unfortunately, that turned out not to be true.
Shortly after purchase, I found numerous issues that were clearly pre-existing, including:
• refrigerator needed a new parts not a washer
• Hardware corrosion
• Propane line corrosion
• Disintegrating brake pads
• Uneven and worn-out tire tread
• Severe rust under the frame and components
•. Many other issues within the camper inside not dangerous like the above
These are not small items — they are safety-related defects that should have been disclosed or caught before selling the unit.
When I reached out to Camping World for help, I was ignored. My emails have gone unanswered, and the store has relied on the “as is” clause instead of addressing the condition this camper was sold in. They have also refused to provide basic documentation or even confirm conversations in writing.
As a first-time buyer, this has been extremely discouraging. The condition this camper was in should have never left the lot, let alone been represented as “great.”
I strongly recommend that anyone considering Camping World get an independent inspection, take detailed photos, get everything in writing, and never rely solely on what a salesperson says. In my experience, the statements made to me were not accurate, and the lack of response afterward has been even worse.
I’m sharing this to help others avoid what I’m dealing with now. I would never EVER do business with them if I had the choice.
Avoid camping world like the plague
If anyone is looking to purchase a travel trailer or motorhome I strongly advise against purchasing from Camping World. I bought the unit about 10 days ago. I was already working with a sales guy in North Carolina so I stuck it out with him when the first deal fell through, I had him searching for a used unit with pretty specific search details from other camping worlds to which he didn’t find on his own somehow. So I sent him the info myself to a unit located in Illinois. Everything fit, I electronically signed what I could online gave them the $16,800 down payment and paid $1500 to transport it to the Sherman location for pick up which they originally wanted $3000 and I told them I’d split it with them to which they agreed 10 days ago. I’ve called and text and left voicemails, with no call backs emails or text for 3 days. I was originally told the unit would be delivered Monday or Tuesday then Wednesday or Thursday then Today. I called Sherman Yesterday evening since North Carolina ghosted me and they had me an ETA in 2 minutes. They assured me they would handle it from here on out and the unit would get there today. I guess because they already have their full financed amount in hand they don’t care about me anymore. So I called Sherman camping world today in sherman secretary seems lost and not sure what she’s supposed to do, tells me finance guy isn’t there and general manager doesn’t know if it’s been delivered. It’s a 13foot tall 30 foot long $175,000 motorhome you would think they’d know if it arrived the lot isn’t that big. So North Carolina decided to call back after 3 days to say it’s arrived what day NEXT week do I want to schedule for them to do my walk thru? I wasn’t very nice by this point, I said it was supposed to be there Monday and then Tuesday and then Wednesday Thursday and now Friday I want it scheduled for today. You left me hanging for 3 days not even knowing what state it’s in or if it ever even left Illinois. I get the usual of I understand, I’ll see if I can get someone to show it today and I said I’ll figure all that out myself I don’t need anyone to show me what it has in it, I knew before I made the purchase. He said ok I’ll call you right back! That was 3 hours ago. Am I being impatient and expecting too much? I would have bought local but this RV was about $30,000 cheaper with less miles than anything local. They gave me a 3 day window for transport last Wednesday which would have made it arrive Monday IF they don’t drive on Saturday or Sunday. Anyone have thoughts? Also their website says they ship store to store for free but my sales guy said it’s only for small items. This is actually my second bad experience with them. The first time I ordered a camper toilet and it took 3 MONTHS for them to ship it to me. I’ve been patient and calm until today but now my blood is boiling. Another bit of info is I told them my husband has to take time off work to pick it up for me so I needed a 24 hour heads up and then a 3 hour window for pick up. I still know nothing other than the unit is in Sherman now and it’s not detailed, checked over or a special coating I paid extra for put on it yet to preserve the paint longer. Now they are saying after 1pm tomorrow.
I purchased an RV about 5 years ago or…
I purchased an RV about 5 years ago or so from Camping World . Last week i was interested in trading it in for a new one. . I put my information on line and gave them the year of my trade in . I was contacted immediately from a internet person who passed my info on to a salesperson who did not contact me back for about a week or so . I then gave the saleman the make model and miles of trade . A little while later a young lady salesmanager contacted me to attempt to put a deal together . I tried to give her info on my motorhome trade , i attempted to tell her all the options that add up to over $10,000 but she did not want to hear about any of the options including the slide or the dual ac units among many others . The only thing she was interested in was the fact that the tires were never replaced after just 13k miles . So infact she did not want to do a proper trade evaluation she was only interested in how much she could deduct for putting new tires on the unit. I completely understand that maybe a 2016 with only 13k miles may need tires but to only want to deduct money avd not add money for all the options that this unit came with and only plug in standard options is rediculous. .She offered me $21k . I plugged the all the options in myself on JD power and came up with a much much higher number .At the end of the day i purchased this RV from camping world and paid over $70k i only put less then 1kiles on it in 5 years and they tried to low ball me and not do a real appraisal .
Worst Customer service experience ever
On my ride home from the dealership the mirrors would not adjust. When I pulled over to try to determine why. The interior light would not come on, and I could not do anything in the dark. So, I called the next morning to tell them about the broken mirror switch and the broken interior light. No response. Not even from the salesperson who said I could contact him about anything. For $60 worth of parts Camping World decided they want to lose my business and create yet another person that doesn't have anything good to say about them. They don't deserve our business.
Camping World Doesn't Care!
We were leaving town, and needed to stop at the Summerfield (The Villages), FL location. We have a 35'5th.wheel, and we have a full bed truck. Because the pking lot was full of RV's, my husband pulled up front, and let me out. He was told to move because he was in the fire lane. He pulled to the back, when I got in and we were leaving, we pulled around to the front and tried to leave using the designated route (which was now blocked by employees moving RV'S around. We sat patiently while they were moving and blocking the lane to go out (totally fire lane into Cammping World). The same man came over and strarted yelling at my husband and repeated that he had been told to move. Mike replied that he had, and now we were trying to leave. via the only straight path for us with the RV. He stood there yelling at us and my husband told hime we were trying to leave but couldn't and we would never be back. He told us he didn't want us back and threatened to call the police. Mike told him to please call the police. This man told us that this was his store, and when I asked him his name, he wouldn't give it. Finally, he went back to the tractor, and moved the RV's (blocking the road out), so we could leave.
I found (not easily) the man's name is Scott McNanara and he was the manager. I contacted Customer Service for Camping World. I told my story, and they told me that the Regional mgr. (Amber Mackie) would be in touch. Not only did they not call back; but, I reached out 3 more times. I was finally told that Ms. Mackie dropped the complaint, stating that it was the customers fault. Ms Mackie made this decision without ever speaking to me.
I will never walk into another Camping World, and I hope you will do the same.
They sold us an RV with only one key
They sold us an RV with only one key. When we asked for a second key, couldn’t find it. Brought it in for service. Failed to fix the awning on brand new vehicle. Rescheduled appointment for service for 8:30 am on the phone to arrive and be told they don’t open until 9. Why schedule appointment for 8:30 then and then tell me you never would have scheduled it at 8:30. I am not stupid and wouldn’t have come at 8:30 if that was not when my appointment was. And it costs lots for gas to keep driving here. Don’t get service here. Don’t buy here!
2 flooded trailers Sewage flooded trailer of my dad's
My Father bought a Trailer from Camping world, the sewage, and fresh water tank labels were wrong, so his trailer got flooded with sewage, had a big insurance hassle, and miss work to get another trailer. Then I bought a trailer from camping world, and the shower pipes were not hooked up underneath the floor, and completely flooded my trailer Day 1, which takes about 5-10 years off the life of travel trailers. Any time a Travel Trailer is flooded it takes 5-10 years off the life because you can never get it completely dry before mold and mildew, starts rotting it.
The employees first of all
The employees first of all, Natasha, Linda, Morgan, and Sam. They work at the camping world in Midway, Florida, and are on top of their game. When we go in there for customer service, it couldn’t be any better and the personnel that worked, there could not be any friendlier.
DON'T LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR UNIT
Travel trailer was dropped off on 10/16 to have brakes checked, wheel bearings packed and 4 new tires. Pickup was planned for the following Monday. We called ahead and when we arrived it was still jacked up after replacing wheels. That wasn't the problem. We noticed a window AND screen open and the door was unlocked. Someone broke in by climbing in the window over the sink, breaking the faucet in the process. Several small containers of "stuff" were dumped out, drawers and cabinets were gone through, cover was removed from the stove, towels and rags were removed from the tub (why??), other windows and roof vent were opened and clothes were removed from two small containers and the containers were taken. Camping World's response, "Wow this has never happened before. Our gates are closed and secure. Would you like a $20 store credit?" Most likely the RV was stored on the unsecured street with several other RVs.
Garbage service for expensive purchases
Purchased a splendide washer/dryer combo. It died in less than 10 uses. The problem is a door latch sensor that is a common issue. They will only asses it if I bring it in. I have no truck, busy friends, and it's muddy and miserable at the site. Taking it in isn't an option. They don't care and don't send technicians to do warranty work, neither does the manufacturer Westlake. I will never again purchase from either company if they cannot support their products post sale.
If there was only a lower rating than 1…
If there was only a lower rating than 1 star. My wife and I attempted to purchase a motorhome through the Biloxi, Ms. store. Started with in person meet with salesman "Cameron" and a sales manager introduction. Little assistance from sales in finding what we wanted over next couple of weeks. Eventually we found the perfect motorhome online ourselves at the Robertsdale, Al. store. We had been told we could purchase from any Camping World location and have our motorhome brought to Biloxi. We coordinated our purchase through Biloxi sales manager "Daniel". Price and details agreed upon, pre delivery inspection scheduled in Alabama with Cameron from Biloxi to supposedly meet us at the Alabama store so that we "would have someone there we knew". Credit app submitted, with excellent credit history by the way, and we believed everything lined up and ready to go. Two days before inspection I noted Camping World flagged the unit as "deal pending". I called to ensure this was in fact our deal only to be told via text message that nope, the unit was sold to someone else. Oh, they did run our credit report anyway...a day after they had already taken a deposit on my unit from someone else. So there's that.
Incompetance? Lack of integrity? Complete absence of customer care? A business model that seems to include store locations undercutting each other with zero concern for the customer? All the above I believe. We will be taking our RV business somewhere else and strongly recommend you do the same.
Warranty service nightmare
Do not take your camper to Greenwood Indiana Camping World for repairs. Poor communication, if any at all, IT systems seem to be completely disconnected, and no one has any idea what is going on. Escalating to management has absolutely no impact. I don’t typically leave poor reviews, but all of my work was done under warranty and has taken over five months. I still don’t have my camper or an estimated timeframe for when things will be completed. I have continuously called, left emails, and was given false promises and incorrect information. Several personnel promised that they would call me back, never to receive a phone call, email, text or update.
Their service is so bad that my warranty claim had to be extended to provide them more time to get the work done. Simply unacceptable! This is my first time working with camping world, but I do not recommend camping world of Greenwood, Indiana, and highly recommend you find a different place to go for service!
Reading the reviews here it seems this may be a consistent theme with camping world. I’m very disappointed and hopeful my review helps others make a better decision than I did.
The camping world technicians and the…
The camping world technicians and the office staff (Akon, Conner, April, Gonzalo) that helped me in Coburg, OR has been phenomenal! The team including management went above and beyond to fix my problem. Amazing team. Thank you.
Marcus Lemonis and Camping World are Liars
Marcus Lemonis, the CEO of Camping World, is either clueless or complicit in the deceitful scams of his company, Camping World. Apparently honesty and integrity are NOT core values that he promotes. They tell customers one thing and do another. Crook, or incompetent boob? I don't know, but neither is an acceptable title for a guy who claims on his TV show to be such a forthright businessman.
Camping World's corporate office sent no less than 20 emails confirming the deal we had made to sell my Camper. When I arrived at the Camping World store just outside of Birmingham, AL, I was told by the local hillbillies who run that store that they did not have to honor anything from the corporate office...they claimed the authority to make their own decisions. Apparently that part is true, as I spoke with yet another feckless corporate minion claiming authority and power who could do nothing to rectify the situation. I ended up taking my camper to another dealer and sold it there.
Mr Lemonis talks a good game on his TV Show, but perhaps being a "big" star has gone to his head. Perhaps instead of managing his business, he's spending too much time in front of a camera or in the makeup chair. Alternatively perhaps he actually promotes lying to prospective customers and dissension among his troops.
Whichever it is, I will never darken the door of Camping World again and will only laugh at Mr Demonis and his self-proclaimed business acumen. Liars!
Churchville NY location
Churchville NY location, once they sell you something dont count on ever speaking to anyone again. After a month of leaving messages, still no response to the problems we had once we got the trailer home. The preparation for delivery that we paid for was not done. There was overspray on our stairs from lazy spray painter, bugs fell out of the air vent, crumbs in the beds, nothing was cleaned. When we got home, we realized they left the door open on the camper, we are lucky it didnt blow off. Absolutely horrible service!!!!
RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS…
RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CAMPING WORLD of COLFAX , N.C. AND NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I WOULD GIVE THEM A ZERO IF I COULD. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY HOW BAD THIS DEALERSHIP WAS BY TRUSTING THEM AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE/NIGHTMARE. I WAS GOING TO PURCHASE A TRAVEL TRAILER TO RETIRE AT THE LAKE. INSTEAD I GOT THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL, THEY DID NOT CONTACT THE BANK AS REQUESTED TO SEND THE PROPER DOCUMENTS, MISINFORMATION, ALWAYS HAD AN EXCUSE EVERYTIME I CALLED. EXCUSES OF WHY THEY WERE NOT WORKING WITH THE BANK OR ME TO GET THIS RV FINALIZED. NO HELP, NO COMMUNICATION OR MISINFORMATION, NO CONTACT. EACH TIME I HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY CALL THEM. NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME FIRST UNLESS IT WAS SOMETHING THEY WERE GOING TO CHANGE OR WANTED TO DELAY. I HAD TO BE PERSISTENT IN GETTING THEM TO GET THIS RV SOLD. INSTEAD I WAS IGNORED THE ENTIRE TIME OF ALMOST 3 WEEKS UNTIL I FINALLY HAD ENOUGH AND I STARTED CALLING EVERYONE AT THE BANK, CAMPING WORLD, AND CONTINUED TO DO. THEY WERE CHANGING EVERYTHING FROM THE AMOUNT OF THE RV PRICE TO TIME THEY WOULD CALL. I TRIED TO GET THEM TO SEND DOCUMENTS TO THE BANK. EVERYONE INVOLVED AT THIS CAMPING WORLD LOCATION IN COLFAX NC. DID NOT CARE ABOUT HELPING THIS CUSTOMER. EACH TIME I CALLED THE SALES LADY GABBY, SHE WAS ALWAYS BUSY WITH CUSTOMERS OR SICK, AND NEVER CONTACTED ME REGARDING GETTING DOCUMENTS, B ILL OF SALE FOR THE RV TO THE BANK IN ORDER TO GET MY PURCHASE FINALIZED. THE SALES LADY ONLY WANTED ME TO DO A WALK THROUGH, PAY A DOWN PAYMENT ON THE RV WHICH I DID. THEY WANTED 500 DOWN TO HOLD IT, BUT THEY TOOK 100.00. AFTER WEEKS OF TRYING TO GET COLFAX N.C. CAMPING WORLD TO HELP THIS CUSTOMER PURCHASE AN RV IN COLFAX, NC. COMPLETED, WAS IMPOSSIBLE. I CANCELLED THE CONTRACT ON THE RV AND AS FOR THE GENERAL MANAGER JEFF, FINANCE MANAGER BRIAN, SALES MANAGER THEY WERE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I AM SURE THEY WILL HAVE A NEGATIVE COMMENT TO SAY ABOUT ME ON HERE BUT I HAVE TOLD THE TRUTH THAT THIS DEALERSHIP WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER , SALES MANAGER, FINANCE MANAGER I NEVER SEEN ONLY TALKED TO THEM ONE TIME AFTER I HAD TO CALL EVERYONE INVOLVED TO GET THIS MESS DONE BY CANCELLING THIS CONTRACT. I HAD ENOUGH OF THEIR CONTINUING LIEING TO ME.
Service appointment
I met with Todd McGinnis, Service Adviser, to repair my equalizer hitch. He took my hitch into the repair shop and was able to have it repaired within 10 minutes. My spacer bolt had sheared off, service had a spare and was able to repack the washers, and reinstall the new spacer bolt. It was a fantastic experience. When I asked what I owed, he said it was on the house.

1-Star Review for Camping World Dover
1-Star Review for Camping World Dover, Florida
I purchased a 2025 Keystone Sprinter Fifth Wheel, and within just two weeks, we encountered significant air conditioning issues. When I reached out to Camping World in Dover, Florida, the service manager was unhelpful and told me that the repair could take up to six weeks, which was not feasible since we live in it full-time.
They then referred me to ProCare, their mobile service provider, who charged $300 just to come out and inspect the issue. After their assessment, they provided an estimate of over $900 for the repair, and they refused to cover any parts or labor warranty on a brand-new fifth wheel.
It has now been eight weeks, and the problem remains unresolved. The lack of communication, the poor service, and the unhelpful attitude of the general manager have made this experience extremely disappointing. I would not recommend Camping World or ProCare based on my experience.
sketchy at best
sketchy at best. Customer service REALLY SUCKS in the Churchville NY store. we got dicked around on everything. they simply do not care about post sales problems.
