The pricing was a major concern, with many feeling they were charged excessive fees, had unclear information about coverage, or were given unsatisfactory trade-in values. Some people were dissatisfied with the service, reporting that repairs were not completed, took an excessive amount of time, or resulted in additional damage to their vehicles. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the staff, describing them as knowledgeable, friendly, and providing excellent customer service.

Beware of the Extended Warranty (SCAM)

I purchased a used Fifth Wheel Camper from the Deforest WI Store. When they excepted my offer on the camper they were going to charge me approx. $ 1,500 to inspect the camper, $305 for a new battery and I forget what the charge for fulling the LP tanks and other charges. I refused to pay for all the extra addon's and the Salesperson did not appreciate that. Then they tell you the Business Manager will right with you to finalize you sale, but his real purpose is to con you into to buying a Extended Warranty Agreement. As for me they told me that because I purchased a used unit I should purchase this Extended Warranty Agreement, because It will give me peace of mind that all mechanical, appliances, seals, slid outs, roof chalking, roof inspections, any delimitations of exterior surfaces and water leaks. Oh buy they way he will say I will throw in Road Side Assistance, all this coverage will be good for 7 years at a great price that you will not get anywhere else, So I believed him was I wrong my coverage was only good for Mechanical coverage, NO WATER DAMAGE COVERAGE, NO SLIDE SEALS REPLACEMENT COVERAGE, NO ROOF COVERAGE AND NO ROADSIDE ASSITANCE COVERAGE. Check you documents before you SIGN! I contacted Assurance Insurance Company who handles all the claims for Good Sam, they told me my Contract was only good for 4 YEARS not 7 and my deductible was $250 NOT $100. I contacted them and they said it was all a mistake and they will correct it, Sent my a fake Extended Warranty Agreement. BE CAREFUL OF NOT BEING SCAMED BY THEM.

They have fixed the same issues two…

They have fixed the same issues two times. This will be the third time. Worst experience I’ve had with any RV dealer I would avoid buying or doing anything with camping world. Especially service. My above dash that sits above my windshield has fallen on me 2 times luckily not when I was driving or I would kill my entire family. They don’t seem to care. I’ve taken my refrigerator in for not working they sold me a different inverter and it still didn’t work. Maybe they scam for a living…

Exceptional emotional stress

Due to a fire in the place I was living I was forced to buy a camper. I went to camping world in Summerset sd. They lied and told me that the unit was a 4 seasons unit, that it had been sealed and that there were no leaks. As soon as water was hooked up it had 2 leaks. They were not willing to do anything to rectify that until I complained to the corporate office. On top of that the lady named Cara had contacted me the day after the sale (she knew I lived more than 100 miles from the dealership and that I had used up every bit of time off and all my money to get the camper) and she said they had messed up the paperwork and we would have to go back to the dealership to fix it or they were going to repossesse the camper. We got that taken care of and now the roof is leaking. It is a 2 year old camper and they had garnteed it was sealed and no leaks!! They are trying to make me give them 10,000 to get a different unit!!

Terrible support

Terrible support, they only want your money.
I purchased a trailer and the very next week after the purchase, I had very basic questions since the owner's manual is worthless, and they wanted to charge me to speak with the service department.
I won't buy anything from them or their store, nor will I take my trailer to them for any service, all they want is your money, no real customer care or service.

If I could give "0" stars I would this…

If I could give "0" stars I would this is the most unorganized business ever. I called back in July to get my one-year warranty set up to repair my RV. They were going to send mobile technician out. Well 3 months went by never heard anything. I called and that person no longer works there granted this happened twice to me in a year span but different dept. This person proceeds to tell me I am now out of the window for my warranty and so my RV will not get fixed. STAY FAR AWAY! Do not buy anything they will screw you over. Constantly new people working they never keep same workers there. Very dysfunctional and unorganized. I never leave reviews, but this one was a must to stop everyone from making a mistake purchasing a product from Camping World. Take your money elsewhere!

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware. This dealership is a total scam. They will sell you anything they can regardless of your tow vehicle’s ability to pull it. They charge $1,000 for some 18 yo that hasn’t quite mastered the english language to ‘try’ to explain the features as fast as humanly possible. Of course, they add that to the invoice without telling you. Then the finance guy, Jason, hard sells an extended warranty by telling you it only adds $50 to the monthly payment, but fails to mention he will add the $13,000 retail price of the coverage to the amount financed so you can have the pleasure of paying an exorbitant interest rate to finance it over 180 months on top of the RV price. You only find out when your first billing statement arrives. Look up Camping Wold disputes online and you’ll see all the customer complaints and class action lawsuits.Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I ordered a $800 RV cover

I ordered a $800 RV cover. The wrong cover was sent by the manufacturer as Camping World is the intermediary. It took over a month to receive return labels and with winter approaching I decided to use the cover to protect the RV. I was informed that since the cover was used they would not be able to refund me for it. They agreed to give me a discounted price for the less expensive cover I received which amounted to $75.00. Instead of crediting my card they issued a gift card for $75. What is it with these companies that are only interested in lining their own pockets and not giving a dam about their customers.

Terrible Sales

This will be lengthy. First off, let it be said that I realize when you purchase a used vehicle, you are getting a USED vehicle. But when it is coming from a supposedly REPUTABLE dealer, that they would sell a Gone Though vehicle. Not in this case! We Purchased a 2009 Winnebago View from Camping World in EauClaire, WI that turned into a total sales and service nightmare. Dale was the salesman and Alesha was the manager of the place. Upon arrival after a previously setup meeting on a Saturday, we met Dale and discovered the motorhome wasn't even ready. Completely filthy inside, but they brought it out for our test drive. We got in and went out on Interstate 94 and as I attempted to accelerate to merge into traffic alongside a semi, I could not go faster than 60mph. It wouldn't downshift, nor did the turbo (3.0 diesel) work. Back to Camping World to have mechanic look at it. Was told they cleared a bunch of codes that showed up and now it should work. Tried again....same thing. Decided to drive further and I took some back roads and appeared to get better! Turbo actually spooled up and it downshifted going up a hill. Actually got better the more we drove it. Motor seems to be ok for now. Back to Camping World again. Asked if it was winterized 3 different times and answer was yes....yes....yes! Asked if they clean up the camper and they acknowledged it was back in the shop being all cleaned up. Several hrs had past trying to complete paperwork, clean camper and us buying components for our new (to us) motorhome. Everyone seems nice while we were there, but it wasn't until we left the parking lot when all the BS started.
On way home in the dark now, I discovered that my headlights seemed really dim. After 2 stops and looking, I discovered only the fog lights worked, and the high beams worked, but No low beams. After getting home I discovered both lowbeam headlights were burnt out. Replaced!
In the driveway I was simply trying to get used to how everything worked on it and noticed the Black Water level showed it to be 2/3 full! WINTERIZED? I looked down the toilet and didn't see any fluid in the tank. I
went out and opened the drain cap and grey water poured out approximately 4 to 5 gallons! WINTERIZED? So now I bought RV antifreeze and attempted to WINTERIZE MYSELF. I have winterized many other campers and am aware of procedures! This one Would Not suck antifreeze from the jug because the pump filter was cracked and sucked air so it Could Not be WINTERIZED until it was replaced. I replaced and WINTERIZED!
Now I don't trust anything Camping World has told me. I looked at the Oil Change sticker they stuck up on the drivers side windshield and noticed it was good for the next 5000miles. Did they just change oil? I pulled the dipstick and found it was 1 quart (or so) low on oil, and was very thin and pitch black! I bought all OEM oil and filter and changed. Drove 340 miles on that oil and was still very clean! No proof....but am guessing and am quite certain.....Camping World in Eau Claire, WI just put a different sticker on the windshield and never changed oil.
I made 3 different attempts to contact Alesha (manager) to discuss these things, and left messages for her to return my calls, and never did she call me back! Manager?
I read other horrible customer reviews from this place and thought we'd still try them. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM CAMPING WORLD! Never! They lied to us, they took our money, and they separated from us. We still HAVE NOT received license plates, title, or anything pertinent for driving it. Just recently got pulled over during deer hunting for no plates, but managed to show the officer our paperwork that we had purchased it 3 weeks prior. Keep getting told from Camping World that it's the WI DMV holding everything up! Believe it or Not!
Save yourself some headaches and do your homework using reviews and ask yourself if it's really a good deal for YOU!

The worst experience ever!!

We ordered our fifth wheel. It arrived in 12/24, but before taking it we hired an inspector. She found 17 things wrong that needed to be fixed. We had to wait until 5/25 for everything to be fixed. Then we discovered the TV wasn’t working. So we took it back in 11/25 to get fixed. Steve (in service) was terrible to deal with. He first told us “it will take sometime. “ Are you in a hurry?”. My husband said no not at all. The camping season is over. That was on Saturday. Monday my husband’s truck went in the shop for a few recalls. It is taking longer than we thought due to parts. In the meantime, Steve calls us up and tells us the fifth wheel is ready and we need to pick it up because they don’t want it to get damaged! He continued to tell me if we don’t pick it up in 3 or 5 days they will Charge us for storage! I explained to him that we can’t pick it up until he gets his truck back. He continued stating we would have to pay storage. Now, keep in mind “We had to wait patiently 5 months to get our brand new RV because it came in with multiple problems, but now we have to pay a storage fee because we can’t pick it up until we get our truck back. He called us again and was absolutely the most unprofessional with no customer service I’ve ever dealt with. He made me feel like I’m the bad guy because we can’t pick it up right now! I even told him he can call the dealership where the truck is to confirm it’s there. He went to hang up on me and said, “If it not picked up you will be paying the storage fee!” I was appalled by his language, his ignorance, and the lack of customer service. Stay away from Camping World, Harrisburg PA!!

used 2016 Thor Vegas from Camping World Atlanta, do not recommend

We bought a used 2016 Thor Vegas from Camping World in Atlanta. I knew I was buying a 9 year old RV and I expected it needed some work. Where my experience went bad was negotiated online and I said X price and I’ll take it. The sales person agreed but never passed it to the finance person. I made the mistake and was trusting (which I never do) and ended up paying more than the list and didn’t realize it until it was too late. Now come the other issues, I bought it knowing the seating had the dreaded vinyl issues of many RV’s. However, within two uses our couch completely disintegrated and was a pile of flakes on the floor. They supposedly did a crazy detailed inspection per the sales person, we had issues with the house batteries (they were original), screws missing from under the dash making it rattle like crazy when driving, they removed some things we liked that were in the pictures without asking (phone holder on the dash) and left giant globs of old glue. We had noticed the drawers didn’t close right and asked to have them adjusted, they didn’t know how to fix them and said they fixed them but the paper says they couldn’t. They said they detailed the RV but the bathroom had mold and soap scum all over the walls, the windows still had bugs and years of dust in them. In summary it was like everything I asked about they said sure one of our techs can take care of that but then didn’t. That leads us to the registration, we bought it in Georgia and live in Maryland, they said it was no issue to do the registration, it’s been over a month and we don’t have our plates yet, our temp tag is expired. When calling we got the run around of “we outsource this go call them”. I ended up saying I don’t care who you outsource to, I’m not calling your vendors for you, go find my registration and plates please.

Beware of Camping World

It appears that Camping World and its corporate offers believes they can act without impunity free from consequences. They transported my camper, causing damage to both the interior and exterior and then refused me, their insurance carrier information. I have had communications with the CEO Marcus Lemonis of Camping World who offered me a settlement of $2000, stating that I was fortunate to receive even that amount. In my case, Camping World has misleading sales tactics, demonstrating a lack of communication and providing inadequate repairs. Throughout 2025 was unable to use my camper incurring expenses for lot rent, insurance payment, loan payments and damages.

First time buyer negligent and safety related issues

I’m a first-time camper buyer and purchased a unit from the Camping World in Lewisville, Texas. At first, the staff seemed helpful and honest. I asked very direct questions about the condition of the camper — including the tires, brakes, refrigerator, and undercarriage — since I hadn’t crawled underneath it myself.

I was repeatedly told the camper was in “great condition,” and that the only thing needing attention was a small washer for the refrigerator.

Unfortunately, that turned out not to be true.

Shortly after purchase, I found numerous issues that were clearly pre-existing, including:
• refrigerator needed a new parts not a washer
• Hardware corrosion
• Propane line corrosion
• Disintegrating brake pads
• Uneven and worn-out tire tread
• Severe rust under the frame and components
•. Many other issues within the camper inside not dangerous like the above

These are not small items — they are safety-related defects that should have been disclosed or caught before selling the unit.

When I reached out to Camping World for help, I was ignored. My emails have gone unanswered, and the store has relied on the “as is” clause instead of addressing the condition this camper was sold in. They have also refused to provide basic documentation or even confirm conversations in writing.

As a first-time buyer, this has been extremely discouraging. The condition this camper was in should have never left the lot, let alone been represented as “great.”

I strongly recommend that anyone considering Camping World get an independent inspection, take detailed photos, get everything in writing, and never rely solely on what a salesperson says. In my experience, the statements made to me were not accurate, and the lack of response afterward has been even worse.

I’m sharing this to help others avoid what I’m dealing with now. I would never EVER do business with them if I had the choice.

Avoid camping world like the plague

If anyone is looking to purchase a travel trailer or motorhome I strongly advise against purchasing from Camping World. I bought the unit about 10 days ago. I was already working with a sales guy in North Carolina so I stuck it out with him when the first deal fell through, I had him searching for a used unit with pretty specific search details from other camping worlds to which he didn’t find on his own somehow. So I sent him the info myself to a unit located in Illinois. Everything fit, I electronically signed what I could online gave them the $16,800 down payment and paid $1500 to transport it to the Sherman location for pick up which they originally wanted $3000 and I told them I’d split it with them to which they agreed 10 days ago. I’ve called and text and left voicemails, with no call backs emails or text for 3 days. I was originally told the unit would be delivered Monday or Tuesday then Wednesday or Thursday then Today. I called Sherman Yesterday evening since North Carolina ghosted me and they had me an ETA in 2 minutes. They assured me they would handle it from here on out and the unit would get there today. I guess because they already have their full financed amount in hand they don’t care about me anymore. So I called Sherman camping world today in sherman secretary seems lost and not sure what she’s supposed to do, tells me finance guy isn’t there and general manager doesn’t know if it’s been delivered. It’s a 13foot tall 30 foot long $175,000 motorhome you would think they’d know if it arrived the lot isn’t that big. So North Carolina decided to call back after 3 days to say it’s arrived what day NEXT week do I want to schedule for them to do my walk thru? I wasn’t very nice by this point, I said it was supposed to be there Monday and then Tuesday and then Wednesday Thursday and now Friday I want it scheduled for today. You left me hanging for 3 days not even knowing what state it’s in or if it ever even left Illinois. I get the usual of I understand, I’ll see if I can get someone to show it today and I said I’ll figure all that out myself I don’t need anyone to show me what it has in it, I knew before I made the purchase. He said ok I’ll call you right back! That was 3 hours ago. Am I being impatient and expecting too much? I would have bought local but this RV was about $30,000 cheaper with less miles than anything local. They gave me a 3 day window for transport last Wednesday which would have made it arrive Monday IF they don’t drive on Saturday or Sunday. Anyone have thoughts? Also their website says they ship store to store for free but my sales guy said it’s only for small items. This is actually my second bad experience with them. The first time I ordered a camper toilet and it took 3 MONTHS for them to ship it to me. I’ve been patient and calm until today but now my blood is boiling. Another bit of info is I told them my husband has to take time off work to pick it up for me so I needed a 24 hour heads up and then a 3 hour window for pick up. I still know nothing other than the unit is in Sherman now and it’s not detailed, checked over or a special coating I paid extra for put on it yet to preserve the paint longer. Now they are saying after 1pm tomorrow.

I purchased an RV about 5 years ago or…

I purchased an RV about 5 years ago or so from Camping World . Last week i was interested in trading it in for a new one. . I put my information on line and gave them the year of my trade in . I was contacted immediately from a internet person who passed my info on to a salesperson who did not contact me back for about a week or so . I then gave the saleman the make model and miles of trade . A little while later a young lady salesmanager contacted me to attempt to put a deal together . I tried to give her info on my motorhome trade , i attempted to tell her all the options that add up to over $10,000 but she did not want to hear about any of the options including the slide or the dual ac units among many others . The only thing she was interested in was the fact that the tires were never replaced after just 13k miles . So infact she did not want to do a proper trade evaluation she was only interested in how much she could deduct for putting new tires on the unit. I completely understand that maybe a 2016 with only 13k miles may need tires but to only want to deduct money avd not add money for all the options that this unit came with and only plug in standard options is rediculous. .She offered me $21k . I plugged the all the options in myself on JD power and came up with a much much higher number .At the end of the day i purchased this RV from camping world and paid over $70k i only put less then 1kiles on it in 5 years and they tried to low ball me and not do a real appraisal .

Worst Customer service experience ever

On my ride home from the dealership the mirrors would not adjust. When I pulled over to try to determine why. The interior light would not come on, and I could not do anything in the dark. So, I called the next morning to tell them about the broken mirror switch and the broken interior light. No response. Not even from the salesperson who said I could contact him about anything. For $60 worth of parts Camping World decided they want to lose my business and create yet another person that doesn't have anything good to say about them. They don't deserve our business.

Camping World Doesn't Care!

We were leaving town, and needed to stop at the Summerfield (The Villages), FL location. We have a 35'5th.wheel, and we have a full bed truck. Because the pking lot was full of RV's, my husband pulled up front, and let me out. He was told to move because he was in the fire lane. He pulled to the back, when I got in and we were leaving, we pulled around to the front and tried to leave using the designated route (which was now blocked by employees moving RV'S around. We sat patiently while they were moving and blocking the lane to go out (totally fire lane into Cammping World). The same man came over and strarted yelling at my husband and repeated that he had been told to move. Mike replied that he had, and now we were trying to leave. via the only straight path for us with the RV. He stood there yelling at us and my husband told hime we were trying to leave but couldn't and we would never be back. He told us he didn't want us back and threatened to call the police. Mike told him to please call the police. This man told us that this was his store, and when I asked him his name, he wouldn't give it. Finally, he went back to the tractor, and moved the RV's (blocking the road out), so we could leave.
I found (not easily) the man's name is Scott McNanara and he was the manager. I contacted Customer Service for Camping World. I told my story, and they told me that the Regional mgr. (Amber Mackie) would be in touch. Not only did they not call back; but, I reached out 3 more times. I was finally told that Ms. Mackie dropped the complaint, stating that it was the customers fault. Ms Mackie made this decision without ever speaking to me.
I will never walk into another Camping World, and I hope you will do the same.
