Phoned with an apparently small problem - which turned out to be a rather larger one - on Friday afternoon and was fitted in to the York service schedule at 0830 on Monday morning. The problem was sorted with courtesy, clarity and without fuss. The warranty on the vehicle was scrupulously respected and therefore there was no charge. I was happily on the road again by 1030 on Monday. That was exemplary service.

I contacted Luke Evans the Sales Person at Kia Burrows about a used Kia Niro Hybrid last week. Within 10 minutes he sent me a really clear video of the car and explained some of its features. I live in Leicester and did not want to travel 77 miles to Barnsley on a wasted journey so seeing the video really helped. The car looked really good so I put down a money back guarantee reservation of £100. I went up to see the car this Friday and was very impressed by its condition. He explained it had one previous owner a regular customer who wanted something smaller. Everyone was very friendly and helpful as you would expect in a family run business.
Luke was very patient as I looked through the car and was happy to run up and down the stairs to get me the information I asked for. He arranged to come with me on the test drive which is a first! Usually my the dealer hands you the keys and off you go working out how everything works, so this was a refreshing change!
He is not your normal type of sales person, never pushy and when I declined several products he never once looked upset or annoyed. Once I made a decision he was able to work with his manager to negotiate on the price. I wanted the paint protection package but was not sure of how well it would be applied. Luke assured me that it was done by fully trained valeters and the work is guaranteed for 5 years. He discounted the product so that helped me to make the decision to go for it!
Anyway needless to say I bought the car and got free delivery too! It arrives next week. In the meantime Luke has been very helpful in trying to get more information for me so everything sounds good upto now. The car is driven down next week by a third party driver and I am hoping everything is okay which Luke has assured me it will be.
Here is hoping for a smooth handover of the car, with it arriving in pristine condition, the protective treatment correctly applied inside and out and with all the bits and bobs needed for the car as promised.
THE FOLLOWING IS AN UPDATE POST DELIVERY OF THE CAR.
The car arrived on Thursday 20th July 2023. The delivery person was excellent and allowed me time to check it through. Everything seemed fine with the car until I did a water test on the Gen 3 protective coating applied by Burrows. I was happy with the paint work since it bubbled and ran off the paintwork and also on the seats. However when I did the test on the carpets it soaked through straight away!
The company have stated its the first time they have had this type of complaint. I suppose most people will trust the dealerships to do a thorough job without testing their workmanship. To be fair to Burrows they did offer a solution for me to coat it myself or to bring it back to be redone. Neither solution is acceptable since I don't think the customer should be asked to finish off their work or me making a 144 mile round trip to face the people who I have made a complaint about, the valetors! My request for a refund has been declined and no partial refund has been offered. Its regrettable that I did not follow my gut instinct and decline the sale of the Gen 3 paint protection when offered!
So I now have to wait for Gen 3 representative to contact me. Fortunately I have photos and a video of the water test on the carpet that I did upon delivery of the car. Since Gen3 also have a sales video showing that liquids should run off surfaces when correctly applied I don't think they will have much they can argue about with my complaint. I wait patiently for Gen 3 to contact me for a resolution.
Burrow sales and delivery of the car I have no issues with. 5 stars. My aftercare experience with them is disappointing.
THIS IS AN UPDATE AFTER LEXUS INCHCAPE STEPPED IN TO HELP
On the 4th August 2023 after Gencare 3 had arranged for the local Lexus garage to finish the application inside the car I took the car into them. I was amazed at how good the service was. Bhavesh the valetor asked what needed to be done and 2 hours later I collected the car. The business manager came out to see me and was happy to help despite this not being their issue to resolve. I am adamant that Gen 3 had not been applied inside the car by Burrows. The difference after Lexus had applied the coating is plain to see.
I'm grateful that Burrows took the initiative to resolve the matter, that Gen3 stepped in to find a local dealership to help and that Lexus did the job to the standard I was expecting.

Recently we purchased a one year old Corolla hybrid from Burrows at Barnsley.
Refreshingly there was no sales pressure when buying the car and although we were offered various ‘extras’ we were not pressured in any way to buy them.
However, like others, we found that the selling ‘procedure’ whereby the sales executive has to consult ‘the manager’ on several occasions, makes the process more time consuming that it could be.
Unfortunately we had a problem with the car but it was sorted out by them without any fuss and in a friendly manner.
We thank Claire Bryan and Steve Davidson for all their help during this transaction and recommend them as a Toyota dealer without hesitation.

Having collected my new Yaris Hybrid earlier this week from Burrows at Worksop, I can honestly say that from ordering the car in January, arranging trade in on my 2019 Yaris Hybrid, completing all the paper work and then driving away in my lovely new car (thankfully the torrential rain had stopped at this point!), the whole experience was brilliant! A huge thank you to Dan of Worksop Burrows too for all his help and advice along the way. ☺🚗

I’ve driven Mazdas’ for years and am on my 6th car from them. Sadly however, due to extremely misleading advertising, I certainly won’t be purchasing from Burrows Sheffield again. The sales side is unprofessional and amateurish at best. I received an ‘event’ invitation which sounded extremely tempting and made an appointment to see a sales advisor. He promised some quotes would be emailed over the following day and nothing appeared. I rang twice the following day and was promised a call back……. I never got the call. Finally after having my current vehicle serviced I got to speak to the salesman. It soon became apparent that the ‘event’ was a simple sales tactic to draw in gullible customers and far better deals are to be had elsewhere. I was offered an embarrassingly poor trade in for my car and the price for the new vehicle didn’t correlate with the ‘event’ invitation. Read it for yourself…….. extremely disappointed long standing customer!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM BURROWS - DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Bought a car from Burrows WORKSOP they are completely DISHONEST and have treated my father appallingly.
He ordered his used car 15th March for collection 3rd April, paid in full on the 31st March. On the way to collect the new car we received a phone call saying they were getting an error on the DVLA web site when trying to transfer ownership (we found out yesterday this was a complete LIE and in fact Burrows had lost the log book and couldn’t transfer the ownership). After waiting 5 weeks my father decided enough was enough and has found a car elsewhere, went into Burrows yesterday only to be told he will not get a full refund, Burrows are withholding £500 until the new log book arrives. They have even been taking the monthly payments for the service plan he took out on a car that he hasn’t even got!!! Today they came to pick up the loan car, my dad is now £500 short of what he paid and without a car, no reason given why they are withholding £500. Absolutely disgusting customer service from start to finish…. BUYER BEWARE!!

Burrows Kia Barnsley: Great customer service up until I bought the car (Kia Niro), then it all went downhill. The car wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be and I had to phone twice to chase up when it would be ready. When I collected my car the spare key wasn’t there, I was told it would be posted out straight away. Three and a half weeks later with several phonecalls from myself and my husband I eventually get the second key. It came within 24hrs after we mentioned Citizens Advice and the Ombudsman to them! Very poor customer service! Got fed up of empty promises and being fobbed off.
Update:
- It took 5 weeks for my vehicle log to arrive!
- During discussions when I was buying the car it was agreed that not only the paint repairs would be done but also the service. Foolishly I didn’t check the service record when I collected the car. I now discover that the service was not done! Absolutely fuming. It’s a shame it makes sense to get my car serviced with them for its warranty as I do not want to deal with them any more! (25th May)
I would like to personally thank Jason for his warmth and professionalism when buying my new vehicle today.
I attended Burrows Mintcars Sheffield on Thursday to view this vehicle. I was unsure if this was something for me personally so decided to look at other options.
Having then decided that this car indeed was for me I contacted Burrows this afternoon and Jason remembered us visiting previously, Myself and Jason arranged a suitable time for my myself to take the vehicle out for an extensive test drive so I could get a real feel for the vehicle before making a decision.
I fell in love with the car and Jason was more than helpful and knowledgeable when it came to extended warranties knowing the issues that I have had with my previous vehicle. He was a great sales person all around, friendly, informative and non pushy making me feel at ease and a pleasant experience.
Would highly recommended.
Very happy with my purchase.

Burrows Sheffield enjoy taking your money for new vehicles and servicing, but beyond that appear to have little regard. I have nothing positive to say about them.
Edit: Thank you Burrows for your reply, insinuating I am not a customer. Maybe you should extend your thinking to realise that sometimes co-habiting partners share cars, if not last names.

Went to buy a CHR. Young salesman just waffled for an hr even though we said we didn't want to be there all day. When we asked about negotiating a price he did the obligatory "i'll just go see my manager". This happened 3 times and each time we were just left sitting for 10 mins. Sales manager eventually came to see us and said they were a family owned business and are told to set competitive prices so don't negotiate. If they had by even £200 they'd have sold the car. We left after 90 mins of wasted time. Went the next day to Motorpoint and had a far far different experience and bought a car. Why do garages continue with their archaic practices ?
I've bought my 2nd Yaris Cross from Alice. Alice always goes above & beyond to keep me updated when my car is due for delivery. I wouldn't buy a car from anywhere else in Doncaster.

Well done to staff at Burrows Motor Company Wickersley
Just traded in my Toyota 18 plate CH-R for a 22 plate. We have traded with Burrows for over 20 years and never been disappointed with the cars or the service before and after sale. Today we were served by Jamie at Rotherham Wickersley branch. Jamie went over and above to meet our needs making sure we were 100% happy with the deal. I also have to congratulate the greeting staff Lorraine and Ruth who made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The purchase of my second hand Toyota from the Doncaster Burrows Garage has turned into an extremely stressful experience. The salesman lied about the car full service history, which I discovered didn’t exist, when I noticed that there was no service book in my glove box, after I purchased the car! They said that their newly done service brought it all up to scratch. The manager was very apologetic. Then my car tyre pressure light went on. The service team discovered a puncture in one of the front tyres! Minutes before that I was ensured that the car had a thorough service. Never ever again will I ever go to Burrows again. And I will warn all my friends to stay away. Dishonest and unprofessional.

I recently purchased a nearly new Mazda online from the above dealership and I wish to compliment them on the service I received. Simon A. was very helpful and completed the transaction/handover in a kind and profession way. A very small issue was resolved to my complete satisfaction.
I am very happy with my new car, definitely a 5 star purchase (& part-exchange deal), a credit to Mazda.

Collected my 2019 plate Aygo X Play today from Burrows Toyota at Worksop. I saw the car on their website on Monday 29.08.2022. Went to the showroom on Tuesday 30.08.2022 and collected today, Thursday 01.09.2022. Salesman, Dan Holmes, was absolutely fantastic. He showed me the vehicle, offered a test drive and told me everything I needed to know. Very friendly and not pushy. When I collected the car all staff were friendly and helpful. Dan went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and before we left I was given a bouquet of flowers. I was treated with lots of respect. If you want a car I recommend a Toyota(fabulous to drive) and I recommend Burrows Toyota Dealership at Worksop. Thankyou Dan Holmes for making this a smooth and fabulous buying experience for a great used car.

Absolutely appalling service from Burrows Toyota Sheffield unless they’re trying to flog you something. I’ve paid for the monthly service plan for three years yet this year for the first time they failed to notify me that my MOT and service was due (like they usually do) and my MOT elapsed. They then tried to blame me saying I’d opted out of notifications when what I’d actually done was ask them not to bombard me with sales and marketing pitches. As a peace offering they said they’d valet my car as well as reducing the price of the MOT but this wasn’t passed onto the servicing team and yes, you guessed it, after an hour and a half sitting in the worlds hottest waiting area, it was MOT’d but was as dusty as it went in. To add insult to injury the servicing team said they don’t valet cars during MOT’s…I pointed out a number of times that I was in a hurry as I was on nights and had been assured that it would be done speedily so I could get home and go back to sleep. Lo and behold today I’ve had a call from Burrows, waking me from my night shift, trying to flog me a car. There’s as much chance of me becoming the next Pope. If you want 5/5 for miscommunication and being called a liar in public, these are the guys for you! This is just the latest in a LONG line of communication problems and the result of an entrenched culture of over promising and in delivering from this “organisation”
I recently acquired a motability car from Burrows Toyota , Barnsley, and although the car is probably the best I’ve ever driven, my experience with their motability team was far from what you would expect.
I bought a mazda cx5 approved used car and after 5 months, I found that one of the rear window heating wire for defrosting was not working.
I took the car to burrows mazda sheffield and they give me a quotation of GBP357 to place the whole rear window! and saying that such malfunction is not covered by the used car warranty.
They cannot even tell a single item that is covered by the warranty!
The Allianz Global Assistance UK later confirmed me the faulty electrical heating wire is covered, and should not be charged!
Now trying to contact the Burrows again and they are just rediverting me to different people and wrong email address. Let's how it will end later. 100% no mazda car anymore.
