Not good for internationals

They answer e-mails in Danish, forms in danish, wite cannot be translated. horrible.
If you are an international without fluency in the burocracy I would avoid.

On the 22nd of October, I had a Job Search Meeting with Career counsellor Mr Jannik Talleruphuus at Akademikernes A-Kasse. He had previously counselled me on the 19th of September. Thanks to his professional tips and perspective, both meetings were vital for improving my applications.

Besides, the October meeting was one that he kindly gave me as a bonus to help me with my job search. His vocational will is a precious, helpful treasure for people like me. So, I want to express publicly my infinite gratitude to him.

I am also grateful to Counsellors Mr Khurshid Sultan (for his fantastic facilitation of the four-week Network for Internationals event) and Mr Lars Thor Capion Nielsen (for the group and individual job search meetings).

Akademikernes A-Kasse has been a solid support in the job search process. I hope to continue counting on its valuable help.

Terrible experience for international people. For one month, I couldn't find them on the phone, the chatbox was useless, and they didn't reply to my emails, and it seems it will not be possible to get the unemployment benefit due to the deficiencies from their side.

Based on my bad experience, I won't recommend international students to join academics's A-kasse.

I have been a member of aka for more than one year. When Aka's employees consulted me about becoming a member, they introduced me to unemployment benefits and the requirements, which are Danish level or 600 working hours. However, after graduation, I applied for unemployment benefits, but they rejected my application due to a HIDDEN CONDITION of a full-time work permit in Denmark, which can't be obtained in a short time by international students.

In addition, I have checked the requirements on their website carefully, but I couldn't find the HIDDEN CONDITION. Therefore, I assume that they deliver the wrong message to attract international students.

Long story to short, don't believe in what they consult to you.

There are some good skilled consultants. Overall good.

This company continues to amaze me.... not only you can see from my previous review that they have put 2 months of unpaid punishment on me because OF THEIR incompetency, now they charged me again for so called "Karen Day" punishment which according to their OWN rules it is illegal to charge me during another punishment.... basically they break rules left and right just to keep you as a fool and unfortunately with no consequences for them... Sad... again!

I have been a member for 5 years now, the last 4,5 of which I have been working, and paying my kontingent without a delay.

It is an absolute clown show of customer service. I had an efterløns sum that I wanted to transfer to my pension. 1—It was very difficult to find information on how to transfer those funds. It seems they are obfuscating the process and information as much as they can.

2 - the people in customer service have no clue what they're doing when asked details about the transfer that I wanted to do. I had to go through 3 of them in 2 different calls just to figure out anything.

3 - once I found out I needed to fill out the form (AR 252), it seemed their form was wrong. One of the fields says to attach proof of compliance with an article from my pension fund. Otherwise, ask the pension fund to fill out something. I have contacted my pension fund, asked for documentation of that, and attached it to the mail to Akademikernes. Then -
I got a reply saying I needed to fill out another part of the form (which was the alternative if I didn't attach the proof of compliance from PF). When I asked them TWICE why the form say that I had the option to attach it as an alternative to sending the form to my PF, also with picture showing the option in the form - I just got stonewalled with "you need to send this to your PF to fill out Rubrik E" - no explanation, no attempt at acknowleding my previous messages, nothing.

4 - the same obfuscation strategies and techniques are used to hide the process of quitting their crappy company. This only goes to show how horrible and unprofessional they are about their members.

My advice Even if they're a cheap A-kasse - not worth it. Better pay extra 20-40 kr/month but get proper service.

Not expensive monthly rate but terrible service - no support at all, not individual advice, chatbot is useless and closing conv. just like that. If you’re not looking for support and advice - I guess its ok, otherwise look for a different akasse, where they pay attention to a member

Very good! I can highly recommend this A-kasse, it has been very easy to communicate and handle everything - especially in English.

Very helpful staff and a nice A-Kasse overall. Of course, they sometimes have problems with their systems or they are super busy, but I guess that happens everywhere. Keep up the good work!
