I have A & B Glass windows in a new…

I have A & B Glass windows in a new build house. I've had to call them out because the windows are so cold. If you move your hand across the wall, you soon know you're in front of the window because of the cold feel. The company came out and said there was nothing wrong. The only thing I can think is there is no insulation in the frames.
I've had two lots of double glazed windows in previous houses and they were never cold like these ones are.

Not Legally Compliant! Can't open windows when there is wind....

I recently raised my concerns i kept coming hom to my upstairs windows being wide open at a 90' angle, and that a safety latch was not installed properly to my new build Bellway.
Once raised, i got a call immediately from this company to tell me they are within spec and are fire escape windows. They are not designed to be open when there is wind was when i asked for a solution...i mean that is just ridiculous.

Having had to have new windows fitted in my previous house, i know it is a legal requirement (also a quick Google search shows this) that upstairs windows must have a safety latch but they have just refused to do anything about it.

I've now raised a formal complaint with my buolding company to get resolved, as i do not feel safe in my own home!

Terrible quality windows

New build Taylor Wimpey home with these windows. I've had them out during the initial 2 year warranty on the installation. 2.5 years since new and now almost every window in the house is sticking and one window is stuck closed. Contacted A&B Glass and they want over £200 before they'll send someone out. Terrible quality windows and rip off call out fees. Avoid at all costs. Like others I'd give a zero if I could.

Don't waste your money!!!!

I had to give one star otherwise I couldn't do a review! This company, its employees and their products are a shambles. Nobody gives a hoot, no matter how much you complain. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else, because all they'll give you is grief and lots of it.

What an awful company

What an awful company. Avoid at all cost. All our windows and doors of our new home from Barrett Homes fitted by them. Over 70% of the window beadings were fitted badly. There are huge gaps in the corners. Wish I could publish all the photos for people to see. And they would not correct them as they think they are within their margin. I will be taking this up with Barrett Homes. 5 star builder using cowboys.

Awful customer service and very rude

Awful customer service and very rude. if I could give a lower rating I would. We had a window shatter for no apparent reason (this has happened to a few people on our estate also) but they avoid taking blame for poor quality putting it down to a 'Impact crack' even though the window in question is always behind a closed wooden blind with an exercise bike and a pram infront of it.

New Porch

I ordered a new porch from A&B glass, They delivered on time and the two fitters (Lovely Guys) fitted it without any hitch, made a fantastic job of it, cleared everything up and left here with one very satisfied customer.
I would recommend A&B Glass *****

Avoid this company if you can.

Avoid this company if you can.
Unfortunately I can't as I have 10 year warranty with them. Every time big problem replace damaged glass and no aftercare at all.
I waited about a month for replacement, took day off for replacement between 8-12, after 10 am received a call from office that driver not coming and next earliest glass replacement available only July 26.
Simply laughing from customers.

Terrible

I am assuming "A&B Asset" is the same company as "A&B Glass". If not, my apologies.

Before you place an order with A&B Glass you might like to read this:
Having had serious issues a few years ago with another double-glazing company (Everest) I asked my builder if he could recommend somebody to supply and fit two replacement UPVC exterior doors, two windows, two sets of French doors and a couple of replacement sealed units.
It started well, with a pleasant and non-pushy sales rep. After a visit from two surveyors, the fitters (the same two individuals) duly arrived on the specified date. Below is a list of the issues we experienced:
1. Both sets of French windows were the wrong size. They had been incorrectly measured by the surveyors. With the original doors already removed, one of the openings needed to be boarded-up. SECOND sets of doors were manufactured and fitted. However, once fitted, the threshold was too low (below floor level) on one set and, on the second set, unacceptable gaps had been filled at the top and bottom. After inspection by the installation manager, THIRD sets were manufactured and fitted.
2. One of the exterior doors was also replaced. The original had been measured incorrectly and the top “hacked off” to get it to fit. Result: the door frame was not square and there was a gap at the bottom of the door. When questioned, the fitter said he was happy with the fit. The installation manager then inspected the door and it, together with it’s frame, was replaced. The new door had only some very soft foam filling below the threshold. Nothing solid. Consequently, when one stood on the step it flexed by about 13mm. This caused the mortar to crack and fall out on either side at the base of the frame. I have fixed this problem myself by ramming in “dry” mortar under the frame, as by this time I had little confidence that A&B were likely to make a satisfactory repair.
3. A glazing bar on the other exterior was cracked (poorly fitted) and was replaced by A&B.
4. Reasonably happy, I paid the bill, less a small agreed amount for the inconvenience caused.
5. However, noticing there was a gap between the two openers on one set of the French doors I contacted A&B and asked them to adjust the doors under the terms of the guarantee. I also asked for an invoice for the amount paid and some documentation relating to the guarantee. I had to make these requests three times before receiving a call to say an engineer would come out.
6. The engineer (someone who actually knew what he was doing) fixed the French door issue. While he was there I asked him to also adjust the door handles on both sets of French doors, as these were not aligned properly. I finally received an invoice in the post but have still not received any documentation regarding the guarantee. Nor a receipt, as requested.
7. Since the above, whilst cleaning the windows, I have noticed there is a scratch on the glass on one of the sealed units and there are flaws in the glass on five others. Also one of the external doors appears to have a crack in it. I have notified A&B of these further issues but have so far received no response.
8. Since then, I have now noticed the internal glazing bars do not align in the two windows.
9. Since then I have spent a frustrating few hours trying to remove excessive amounts of silicon filler applied by the fitters to one of the French window frames, before it was possible to make good the internal plaster-work. Also the silicon used to fill a gap behind the second exterior door step, before the floor tiling can be made good.
10. Since then I see there are fittings missing on the hinge side of one of the doors (“closure hooks”).
My builder will no longer be recommending this company.
