Hired the mystery machine from exmouth drove to coral bay. Had lots of fun. Living out my hippy days. People waving at us felt good lol reliable little wagon with everything we needed in it

Van was easy to drive, ran great! The paint job was fun and watching public reactions was entertaining.
I discovered to my dismay that the height was just not suitable to someone of my 157cm stature. I felt like I was mountain climbing to get in and it was nearly impossible with the bed laid out.
Equipment was rudimentary but adequate. Definitely better suited for younger, taller users.

2-5 Grip 4WD
Myself and 2 friends hired the car for a road trip around Western Australia.
Pros
The car drove really well and had a good in-car entertainment system and air con.
Wicked campers were very responsive via email and accommodated our request for earlier pick up at short notice.
We were provided with a roadside assistance number and he was able to talk us through a lot of questions about the car and the tent boxes.
Cons
The car had not been cleaned after the previous guests. We found food tins and empty packets in the car and the car, fridge and tent boxes were full of sand and the tents smelt of second hand smoke. Once we’d cleaned and aired them out they were fine, it’s just a shame we had to do this ourselves.
The fridge specifically hadn’t been cleaned and there was an empty shellfish shell in there.
A lot of the appliances seem old - the table and fridge are very stained/scratched. The tent box ladder is missing a screw which made it hard to put up / down.
The car / tent is advertised as fitting 5 people - there were three of us and we found it a little bit tight with all of our baggage so just be warned!
Overall the car does what is says on the tin but is rough around the edges. If you don’t mind that, I would recommend wicked campers as the process from reserving to hiring and returning the car was relatively easy and inexpensive.

Hired a Mystery Van from Brisbane to do a drive through QLD and northern NSW, despite its slightly rough exterior and interior the van was clean, well equiped and drove like a dream!! Fuel efficient even with lots of stops and starts and some very big hills! It was a perfect size and layout for a couple. Bed was a tad hard but got used to it after the first night. Still waiting for the bond back (but it hasn’t been 7 days yet) but the service and friendliness has been great. Would hire again!

I have been driving around with my rented camper van for the last 7 weeks. The price performance ration is really good. Despite the car being about 20 years old, it is reliable and in a good condition. It is equipped with a small sink, a toilet, a gas cooker, matresses and cooking utensils so I did not have to buy these things. As it is self-contained, there is a wide variety of possible campgrounds for me which has helped me a lot so far. I have driven more than 6000km on both the North and South Island and am glad that this car enabled me to see so many special places all over New Zealand! It does not consume too much fuel either which is additional advantage when it comes to large distances.
Overall, I am really happy to have received such an affordable and reliable car.

We hired the Mystery Machine for our travels on the South and North Island of New Zealand and it was a disaster from the beginning. When we picked up our camper van after hours we noticed that one of the tires was almost flat. The next morning we stopped at the gas station to fill up the tire and the vehicle wouldn't start after that. We were accused of backward wiring the battery when trying to jump start it which wasn't the issue at all. We missed a booked trip that day (value of approx. 750 NZD) because the roadside assistance support was on Australian time and didn't even contact us until the middle of the day. Contacting the company directly didn’t get us anywhere either.
The second van we picked up in Auckland wasn't much better - the key we received had a major crack in it and we handled it with a lot of care not to break it off in the ignition or while opening the vehicle.
After bringing all of our issues to the attention of Wicked Campers, we received absolutely NO response.
Needless to say, this is the last company I would ever rent a vehicle from again in the future.

We rented a campervan for 9 days and did a loop from Perth to Esperance via the coast and back via Wave Rock. The van is super well equipped, we had everything we needed. The sleeping area was spacious and comfortable, and we slept really well! Customer service is very responsive, answering my e-mails within a few hours each time. They're also very flexible. We were able to collect the keys quickly and easily. The only downside was that the emergency number didn't answer even though we'd called several times. The van works very well, even though it's not brand new. Overall a good experience!

We hired a car for eleven days as a group of tourists traveling around Tasmania. We were looking for a cheap company who would let people age 21 or below rent a car - and that’s why we chose Wicked Campers!
The car is what you pay for, it’s not luxurious and might have some damage already, but it mostly worked without problems. The reason we say ‚mostly‘ is because we experienced a flat tyre in the beginning of our trip. However, we were able to call them at all times and they told us that they will refund the new spare tyre within the next 7-30 days! While trying to fix the flat tyre, we noticed that there was no safety gear in the trunk - but we also mentioned this to them on the phone.
What we remember positively is that they gave us some chairs and sleeping bags for our trip which was very nice!
So all in all, we would choose Wicked Campers as our car rental again!

We rented a Jonny Feelgood 2 campervan for a 6 week trip of Queensland from Cairns.
The staff in Cairns were extremely helpful and informative. The car was reliable and spacious for 2 people.
We would definitely use these guys again and are very happy with the overall experience!

Wicked was the cheapest camper I could find at the time. We hired the Aventus camper. It was suitable for what we needed but uncomfortable in the warm weather with mozzies. Next time we will spend the extra money and go with something we can sleep in properly.

We rented a Johnny Feelgood 2 model for a seven week tour of Australia. Wicked Campers gave us a reliable vehicle to tour through NSW, SA, NT, VIC and into QLD with none of the travel restrictions you’d get with a standard car rental company. We covered almost 12,000 km of road and had the flexibility to change our plans when Cyclone Alfred devastated Brisbane and NSW... We reversed course and were able to spend 10+ days in fabulous Victoria instead, touring the Shipwreck Coast, the Great Alpine Highway and hike through fabulous National Parks like Otway, Mt. Buffalo and Alpine itself. The Feelgood van even had room for us to transport a telescope that we bought in Australia and took into the Outback north of Alice Springs to spend two weeks observing the stars, clusters, nebulae and galaxies of the southern skies. Top it off with a trip to Uluru along the Lasseter Highway and you have an adventure that we’ll never forget. We saw Australia up close and the fabulous stars of the southern sky... Our trip was truly out of this world... Thanks, Wicked Campers.

After a quick and easy online booking and check-in, all we had to do was pick up the camper and off we went (it took about 10 minutes). Our trip was very nice and problem-free, the camper never let us down. There were three of us in the Mystery Machine 2-3, which wasn't a problem in terms of space. The camper is simple but functional, making life in it easy and comfortable. Customer support was also super friendly and smooth, all in all, it was a very good experience, would do it again.

We had a great weekend with the van. It has all what it's said to have and works well.

We drove down the great ocean road and it was brilliant! The van was perfect, we got a lot of compliments on how the paint job looked as well. The bed was comfy enough and spacious for the 2 of us. No problems with the driving at all. Wicked campers provided everything that we had asked for and were very kind. Would recommend.

Great company if you are under 21 looking to hire a van. It drives well with comfy seats and a comfy ish bed. My van in particular is very old and needs things fixing eg broken table leg, broken dashboard , broken gas stove but overall good value for money.

Had a wonderful week with the mystery machine from Wicked Campers, driving along the great ocean road, it had everything I needed for a great road trip. I got a lot of compliments on the paint job, with people asking for photos, and the company themselves were very helpful, communicative and friendly with the pick up and drop off. Great way to see Australia!

We rented a Wicked camper from Perth. When we arrived we were told the hitop van we’d hired wasn’t available so had to have a standard van but were refused a refund on the price difference as we were told we were given a discount online. It’s a shame we weren’t told this before arriving. However the van was great and we really enjoyed driving it around, felt safe and reliable, and we had a good trip. The bed was rather uncomfortable but that’s perhaps to be expected with van camping!
