Complete crooks - will ruin your holiday

Complete crooks. Basically weaponise your booking time against you, even if you are 10 minutes after the agreed time, they say you have missed your window and have to take it up with the third party.

It's all designed to make less sure folk agree to their full priced option, which they are still happy to sell.

Do yourself a favour, and AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.... It may ruin your holiday.

They told me they returned it but its still not been returned. I have been waiting over 16 days. They told me they're look into it but when I contact them by whats app they dont respond. Don't use this company or the parent company Al Kafi cars.

Terrible experience with this company

Terrible experience with this company. Before the booking, I contacted support about using my Revolut card because the voucher only said Revolut cards are “usually” not accepted, not fully prohibited. They replied that it would be possible to use my credit card if it was Visa/Mastercard and valid for longer than 6 months, so the communication was very misleading.

When I arrived, they suddenly demanded extra insurance because I was using a Revolut card. Since this was not clearly explained beforehand, I refused the extra charge and the rental was denied. They also refused to refund the €70 booking fee.

Later they claimed the voucher clearly stated Revolut cards were not accepted, which was simply not true. Very misleading and unprofessional service. Thankfully, my bank handled the dispute fairly after reviewing the evidence.

Avoid these scammers

When we got to the depot (having waited 40 mins for the shuttle bus) they told us we were "late" and the hire had been cancelled. This was despite the plane landing 15 minutes early and no delays getting through the airport. Wanted to hire us a car at a much higher price. I refused their kind offer and walked down the road to a reputable car hire company. Having been scammed once I was not about to give them more money to have another go! Avoid them at all costs. How do they sleep at night scamming visitors to Spain as soon as they get off the plane? Unbelievably poor

Avoid at all costs

We arrived at airport 50minutes after our booked time. They told us the car was no longer available and demanded €100 extra for another car. They said this was standard as we were ‘late’. Our booking agreement stated we had a 2-hour window to collect the car. They wouldn’t even send the shuttle bus to pick us up until we had agreed to pay the additional fee. We cancelled and filed a claim with Expedia. Then booked another car at the airport, which turned out to be cheaper anyway! These people are just crooks. Avoid at all costs.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
The operational office outside Alicante Airport is running a very sophisticated scam. Having now read several reviews on Trust Pilot , Trip Advisor and even their own website it is clear that anyone who takes out a deposit "fianza"will lose their deposit. This is not an accident or coincidence. It is their modus operandi. I have been hiring a c
ar week on week as I'm in Alicante for 3 months and have been doing so for 25 years, for it to sit on my driveway in case of emergencies only. I decided as i do not use the car every day to go with a cheaper option ...off Airport terminal. Well...the pick up was late ...young guy seened stressed ......but hey i got there 45 mins after i was supposed to..the pick up pretty uneventful...just surprised that the damages report was via email no paper copy..made it difficult to see on phone screen..but after making short video of car .i went on my way.
Fast forward... week later...young buck finds what he's looking for within.seconds...calls slim shady.... the one who doesnt take off his sun glasses! Ohhhh... well madam....and so it starts.....tiny dents which i couldn't have made given car was on driveway.....ohhh madam it's your word against ours....so slim.shady invites me into office...states for my benefit that the damage won't cost more than my 900 euro excess.... phew!!! What?? You mean you aren't going to have the damage evaluated?? So... i pick up the video that i took at pick up..there it is...the little dent. Slim shady looked very disappointed but asked Me to send the picture to Claims department? He admitted leaving it off pick up report. Oh so you can charge me for existing damage? Or so that you aren't accused of fraud ? ? I sent him whole video. Did he send to Claims department to counter his error? to counter his mistake? Hell no... he just made it my problem to liaise with Claims department at Urent until i could prove by the meta data in the video that he had made the error!!! The 900 euros was charged to my credit card within seconds but has taken me 2 weeks back and forth with Claims at Urent to prove that he was at fault and I'm still waiting for the refund despite Claims at Urent admitting the error. I am now trying to escalate this to Wheego which is a German company obviously franchise their brand across Europe. I am also trying to alert the subsidiary booking platforms such as stressfreerentals.com to the fraudulent activity of one of their agents.
WHEEGO Alicante is operating a fraudulent scam against all clients who do not have 3rd party insurance and who instead leave deposit of 900-1200 euros. In most cases clients will just accept as they will not have video footage despite knowing they've been scammed. Also irrespective of any "claimed" damage, the whole deposit is taken, no explanation , no quote, no rational evaluation just the whole lot. This IS UNACCEPTABLE and needs to be called out.
Irrespective of whether i get my full 900 euros back.or not i will be escalating this within my power to expose this particular branch of Wheego although other branches across Spain have also been mentioned as operating in the same fraudulent manner

I booked a car from Birmingham airport…

I booked a car from Birmingham airport at a wonderful rate. I took the insurance package too. I hadn’t realised the car was off site but as it turns out we had a great rental. Adam and zane looked after us so well. And on our return dropped our party of 5 back to the airport so fast. We had such a lovely experience. I would definitely use them again.

Wheego scam

Pro tip for Malaga: Wheego has no airport signage, because apparently finding them is part of the adventure. Call them, wait 30 minutes for the lone shuttle, then enjoy the surprise €40/day "insurance" fee for not carrying an international driver's licence — a requirement quietly composting in their fine print. Innovative revenue strategy. Zero stars if the platform allowed it.

SCAM

I rented a car with Wheego Bulgaria (Contract RNT-2430) from March 29th to April 1st, 2026. Upon returning the vehicle at Sofia Airport, a missing key was reported. The official "Vehicle Condition Report Form" generated by the company and signed by me clearly stated the total cost for the key was 345 €. However, instead of charging the agreed amount and releasing the rest of my 1.000 € security deposit, Wheego liquidated the FULL 1.000 € from my bank account. It has been nearly a month, and they have ignored all my emails. This is an unauthorized charge and a complete lack of professional integrity. I have already initiated a formal chargeback process with my bank and filed a complaint with the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commission (KZP).

No car available

Dispite having a written confirmation for a rental car, I was told at the pick up counter that no car was available for me and I would need to take the matter up with the broker.
I was forced to rent a car from a different supplier for an inflated spot price - never again with Wheego

Wheego-Vilinus airport, scamming buisness

Wheego-Vilinus airport, Lithuania
This is not a car rental company, it is a scamming operation. They try to scam you with extra insurance despite full insurance. They deny checking the car with you (so they can fake damage and cleanliness of the car). They give false claims of damage to the car and give false claims of the car being dirty.
I got a 1.100 euro bill sent for scratches on the side mirror that were not there when the car was returned. Pure scamming buisness any 5 star reviews are propably not real customers.

Dreadful Company

Refused to accept my credit card as it only had my initial and not my full name. Allowed me to use my debit card Ona totally new booking at £210 for 3 days, original booking, £100, lost. On return, tiny scratch, charged me £428. Unable to claim it back from my car hire excess insurance as they specifically don’t insure books with wheego! That’s the type of company they are, insurance companies block them. Highly recommend you do not use wheego!

Got a car, and collection agency

Got a car, rented, all good. 6 months later collection agency gets on me for unknowingly having gotten a traffic ticket which wheego never informed me of during the rental period.
Happy to pay a traffic ticket, but to learn about it 6 months later with tons of late fees and no communication from wheego is a joke.

I strongly advise against renting a car…

I strongly advise against renting a car from Weego. This company uses unacceptable practices aimed at seizing the customer's entire deposit. In my case, they unlawfully withheld 3100 PLN for damages that either did not exist or would cost a mere fraction of that amount to repair.

Why you should stay away:

Intentionally looking for "damages": Upon returning the car, the employee immediately pointed out three issues. We had a photo of the first "damage" from the start of the rental – only after showing this proof did he withdraw the claim. This clearly proves their bad intentions and dishonesty.

Invisible scratches: The second "scratch" turned out to be just dirt. Even after we cleaned and dried the area, the employee insisted he saw something. Even if there were a micro-scratch (invisible to the naked eye), the cost of removing it with a simple "one-step" polish would be symbolic—around 50-100 PLN—not thousands!

Stone chip on the windshield (so-called "bullseye"): The company is demanding payment for a full windshield replacement due to a microscopic chip on the passenger side. The damage is smaller than a 2 PLN coin and is located more than 10 cm from the edge. According to industry standards, such damage is repaired with resin in 20 minutes for about 150-250 PLN. Claiming the entire windshield needs replacement is a complete lie.

They took 3100 PLN from us, while the actual repair costs (if any were even necessary) would not exceed 500 PLN. This is a blatant scam targeting tourists. I have used Weego in Gdansk before and it was perfectly fine, but this specific branch is a completely different, dishonest story. I warn everyone – read the negative reviews and believe them, because they are 100% true!

What a bad experience we encountered

What a bad experience we encountered with this company!!!!!
Firstly we hired a car from them at birmingham airport online for 3 weeks at the cost of £235: brilliant 👏 we thought.
The pick up was planned for 11am. Then unexpectedly we were delayed at an airport and we contacted them at 8am, as soon as they opened, to let them know that we would be late, but in the country later that same afternoon. They informed us that they could only keep the car for 2 hours. We arrived at 5pm and they had told us that our reserved booking had been cancelled and then offered an alternative to the tune of a further £310 extra on top of our original £235 and only SUV available to hire at that time leaving us with no choice but to go ahead there and then, and we were also told we must have the car valetted before returning the vehicle. Never have we had to have a valet upon returning a car from any hire company. We were told that when returning the car, as we had an early flight out of the country, someone would be there to accept the return, when this was discussed with a manager, this was a categorical no as this is something they do not do, thus making us late for check in at the airport, hence we had to return the car a day earlier to avoid delays.
Upon returning the vehicle to them, they inspected the vehicle telling us that there was a very minor scuff to the front quarter of the car, which was then made worse but the inspector rubbing against the panel with the sleeve of his coat.. after we stated we had video evidence of all the panels, this was insisted by management to be viewed. As this was not good enough, We were then told to return to the office to pay for the damages, and the car would have to go back to the dealership to be professionally rectified. This would cost us an additional £150 extra, which we outright refused to pay after being completely screwed over when initially hiring the car. Another manager then inspected it and said "its fine, no problem, no charge"

Customer service here is non existant and would highly recommend that they undertake a training course on how to properly run and manage a car hire company

Avoid at all costs, check other car hire firms before using these con artists
