I wanted to sell my car but they lied about repairs on it to pay me less
I wanted to sell my car, a Toyota urban cruiser XR that i bought brand new. However the assessor from webuycars lied in the report that my car had high quality repairs done after an accident. I asked them to show me where on the car this was repaired and they couldn’t answer. This is a scam by them so that they pay you a low amount. Obviously I did not take their low offer and will not sell a car to them again due to their dishonesty

One of the most disgusting experiences ever
I would love to give 0 here but have to do 1. Stay away if selling your car. Unethical and just disgusting. They assess a situation and try rip you off completely.
I was overseas and so a lot of arrangements had to be made. They provided an initial offer which I found fare. But needed to sort a few things before the sale. They were aware of this. And so getting car registered in Cape Town from Gauteng. Sorting out car fines. And a few small things. The delay was long and they had to redo the offer (which they were obviously aware of). My car had not moved due to travel and so on the day I replaced the battery for 2k. New offer they had dropped their price by R15 000. Presuming I would be desperate to sell. I find this sort of tactic immensely disgusting. No reason for the change in price. Claim of new damage to the car. When in fact it has not moved. They have a fulls script it seems on how to speak to you in this process and I found it just repulsive. For a company that I heard positive things about it is completely erased. Avoid.

Worst experience
Terrible experience I waited over 11 days for my car almost 2 weeks and it was coming 3hrs away. The manager at the PE branch has no customer service skills whatsoever and the finance person was the same and explained nothing. I logged a complaint online and I’m still waiting over a week later for a mail or call. I phoned twice and I wasn’t assisted.
Don’t buy from WE BUY CARS save your money.
We bought a Renault Kwid from We Buy…
We bought a Renault Kwid from We Buy Cars Nelspruit. The condition report said the car was serviced and everything was fine. It also said not dents or scratches. When we received the car, the car had a big dent as well as scratches. The brakes were finished and we had to replace it. The battery in the car was not even a car battery but a motorcycle battery!! We buy cars are full of lies and frauds. I will advise everyone that your service are poor and full of lies. Don't ever trust We buy cars!!!!! Will never buy from you again. The service as Nelspruit branch were horrible as well, we had to follow up constantly just to find out what was going on with our car. Horrible sale!!!
Stay away from we buy cars
Stay away from we buy cars. Don't purchase from them. They are the biggest liars and will sell you a Cat A car but you shall soon come to know it's a lemon. They will not assist and will look for all loopholes. They are the most dishonest company to deal with. Dont waste your hard earned money to buy anything from them not even a pen.
I bought the car on 20 September 2025…
I bought the car on 20 September 2025 at Gqeberha, under the sales person Charleston Ruiters. I have been asking him to send me the documents and number plate arrangement, I tried to call him and send him WhatsApp numerous occasions for these documents, however we keep on saying he will get back to me. I phoned head-offices their said I must phone him to do an arrangement. I tried to send him whatsapp again today 20 October 2025. As usually he said, he will do a follow-up. We buy cars is the good Company, I can always recommend someone to purchase a car from them. I already bought 3 cars under them, I never had any experience with any of their cars. This is my first experience ever and I'm frustrated. The people like Charleston Ruiters are the one who make the Company looks bad. I wish we Buy Cars get people who are dedicated to put the customer's needs first.

We Buy Cars offers an outstanding experience from start to finish, their team is incredibly efficient, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. What stood out from my experience was the warm, friendly customer service I received from Theodore Smit on PE; every interaction felt personal and professional, and he went out of his way to ensure that I was comfortable and informed throughout the whole process. He was always ready to help.
Absolutely Disgraceful Experience with WeBuyCars – Misrepresentation, Contradictions, and Wasted Time & Money
I have never in my life experienced such a nightmare with a company, and I have to warn others about what I’ve gone through with WeBuyCars. I attempted to purchase a Renault Duster 1.5 dCi 4WD from them, a vehicle that was advertised as “A Rated” and in excellent condition. What followed, however, was three weeks of lies, contradictions, hidden faults, and outright disrespect for my time and money.
From the very beginning, I was told that the only issue with the vehicle was a minor hooter wiring problem. Based on this information, I went ahead with the purchase, arranged time off work, prepared my trade-in, and even activated my insurance. Shortly thereafter, what was initially presented as a small, insignificant fault suddenly escalated into what was described as a massive wiring issue, with wires allegedly cut in multiple places. How a defect of this scale could have passed through a Dekra inspection without being flagged is beyond me and raises serious questions about the accuracy and integrity of the inspection process.
At one point, I was assured by Anthony Coleman, the sales executive handling my purchase, that the repairs would be carried out at no additional cost to me. Yet, later on, he contradicted himself and told me I would now suddenly be responsible for paying for the repairs if I wanted the vehicle, a completely unacceptable and misleading turn of events. To make matters worse, I was consistently given conflicting information throughout this entire process. For example, Joshua, the sales representative, would send me WhatsApps in the morning assuring me that the vehicle was repaired and on its way for roadworthy testing, while Anthony would phone me later that same day to say that the car had not even been fully repaired and was still on its way to the mechanic. This constant back and forth wasted weeks of my time, left me frustrated and confused, and destroyed any confidence I might have had in the process.
Each time I was told the vehicle was finally ready, I would arrange more time off work in preparation to collect it, even having to take unpaid leave at one point. This cost me not only money, but also leave days and credibility with my employer, as I was repeatedly forced to change my plans because of the false assurances I was being given by WeBuyCars staff. Just when I thought things could not get worse, after being told that the car was finally ready for collection, Anthony phoned me to say that during the roadworthy test it was discovered that the four-wheel driveshaft was missing. At this point, I was left with no choice but to cancel the deal completely, as the situation had become unbearable and I could no longer trust a single word being told to me.
So after three weeks of stress, wasted money, and endless contradictions, I was left with absolutely nothing. No car, lost income, wasted leave days, unnecessary insurance payments, and a complete erosion of trust. This entire ordeal has felt like being scammed. I was misled, contradicted, and deceived at every step of the way, and at this stage I have zero faith in WeBuyCars. A company of this size should not be operating in such an incompetent and misleading manner, leaving customers like myself out of pocket and emotionally drained.
I have requested a full refund of my deposit, which is the bare minimum given that none of this was my fault, and I would have gladly taken the vehicle had it been in the condition I was constantly told it was in. But the damage to my trust, time, finances, and peace of mind cannot be undone. WeBuyCars has lost all credibility with me, and I strongly urge anyone considering buying from them to think twice. My experience has been nothing short of disgraceful.

THE HAVE A WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE AND ALLOWED ME TO ASK ANY QUESTION THAT I COULD THINK OF. THEY SHOWED ME A VARIETY OF CARS THAT WERE IN MY BUDJET AND KNOW HOW TO INFORM PEOPLE IN A WAY WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE.
Great Experience!
I dealt with Alroy at the WeBuyCars pod at The 3 Arts Village in Cape Town. Alroy was professional and amiable throughout the process, from the first evaluation to signing the contract of sale. If you want to get your car sold and paid for fast and efficiently, then WeBuyCars is the way to go :-D
