I had a terrible experience with Virgin…

I had a terrible experience with Virgin Media.
When I cancelled my contract, I was wrongfully charged triple the expected amount, which felt completely abusive and unfair.
Worse than that, the company kept contacting me in an aggressive and threatening tone, constantly saying they would sue me if I didn’t pay, even though the service was already disconnected and no longer available.

It felt like intimidation rather than customer support.
Trying to leave a provider should be simple—this turned into a nightmare of over-billing and stress.
I strongly advise anyone to document everything and be very careful when cancelling with Trustpilot or Google Maps reviews like this one—customers deserve better treatment.

Avoid at all costs unless you’re prepared for a fight after cancellation.

Still waiting two weeks for service

Still waiting two weeks to have a Network cable fault fixed. As a new customer this is appauling service despite two tech visits. The Network techs lied that the issue was fixed. I have rang Customer Service 6 times to no avail waiting 40 - 60 mins to be put through - Rubbish steer clear !!

Sales Rep with targets

I called to check when my SIM contract was up and was told it was on a rolling plan. The rep then tried to upsell me a deal to add my family for €15 a month. I said I’d think about it and he promised to call back the next day. Instead, he signed me into a 12-month contract without my consent.

When he did call back and I said I didn’t want it, he told me I could just cancel but he never actually cancelled it. Now I’m stuck in a contract I didn’t agree to.

To make things worse, the SIM barely works: patchy signal, can’t receive calls, and endless “support” chats that go nowhere. I have a new SIM as of today and 0 bars of signal so its still not working.

Virgin used to have decent support, but that's not been my experience lately. The original sales rep clearly trying to hit sales targets and the support afterwards has been frustrating.

extremely poor service

I have a mobile plan with data, i lost the data connect. Two hours spend today on their chat bot and customer service line and it still isn't resolved. very poor service

Genuinely horrific service

Comically bad.

As others reported, my phone and data stopped working in early September. What followed was multiple calls to customer service (60+ minute wait each time), including being hung up on BY THEM twice.

Two trips to the city centre to go to their stores, neither of which could fix the issue. They told me it was a network issue. Finally when it all started working again, I was billed my usual monthly amount. No acknowledgement whatsoever on their part.

Now since I arrived back in Ireland last week after two days abroad in an EU country (where the mobile data didn't work) the phone isn't working again. Phone customer service today. 30 mins waiting, 15 minutes of the guy trying to help and then he hangs up on me. I am DONE.

Stay away from Virgin Mobile, absolutely shocking altogether.

Best avoided if you need help

Phone stopped making and receiving calls so requested a new sim online from virgin media.
No communication, no acknowledgement of my request.
No answer to my call 90 minutes in.
Online chat refuses to log me in.
Messenger requests go unlocked at.
Nonexistent service when issues arise.

2 days later and finally a rep answers my call somewhere in India ! Accepts that they have failed to look after the sim replacement but still cannot give me a time or date as to when this will be rectified. Utter incompetence from Virgin media.
