I have sold a few items on Vestiare and…
I have sold a few items on Vestiare and had a generally good experience. But two recent transactions have caused concern. One where a buyer pulled out due to excessive import charges and then I was quoted an addional 66% for 'customs & duties' that they have repeatedly refused to provide a breakdown of. This charge was in addition to the usual purchase charges. I checked with multiple online guides, including HMRC and cannot find any justification for these exorbitant costs. I don't want to believe they are refusing to provide details because they are hiding overcharging, but the repeated refusal to be transparent raises concerns as a buyer and seller

Vestiaire seems like a great platform. And it is. Until something goes wrong.
Undoubtedly one can get a real bargain, but the support and assurances around purchases are woefully lacking.
Three times I have had issues with the garments when they arrived. On all occasions the call line (or text line actually) was unable and unwilling to help.
In each case the garment was not as described. Either dirty (though described as never worn) or stained. Even providing photos of the issues they refused to help, citing regulations etc.
on one accordion I actually used their professional vetting service (at significant cost) but the service was also flawed.
There are bargains to be had. And I have enjoyed them. But the platform service is inherently expensive and unforgiving.
I would not recommend to anyone. Better to spend a little longer searching through EBay.
