My husband was in a rush and applied…

My husband was in a rush and applied through this dodgy website after I had already got my visa through the official channels. As soon as it was put through I requested it be cancelled. I literally got the confirmation email after requesting the refund. They delayed the request by sending a refund form, by which time they said it was too late. There had been no processing at all. I received a tiny refund because they claimed it was already in their system. Always use the government website, these businesses take advantage using Google ads to appear at the top of the page and catch people who are rushing and quite happily take your money for nothing.

AVOID "ukvisaportal" for ETA visas in U.K.

I thought "ukvisaportal.com" was the official website of the UK government for getting an ETA visa. It certainly is not!! Avoid using this website because they charged me over four (4) times more than what the UK government charges. I paid them CDN $165, but the UK government site (gov.uk) charges 20GBP, equivalent to only CDN$37.

So I wrote ukvisaportal.com an email requesting a partial refund and they refused.

So, use the official UK website: gov.uk NOT ukvisaportal.com

The application process was intuitive…

The application process was intuitive and convenient. We had a bit of an issue uploading an acceptable photo of one of our passports, but Hanna B. from Customer Support guided us through resubmitting a clear, acceptable photo, kept us informed of the progress of our applications, and was incredibly helpful. We received our UK ETA approval within hours and are looking forward to our visit!

I accidentally used UKVisaPortal website for a UK ETA

I accidentally used UKVisaPortal to start an application for a UK ETA:

They probably paid Google to be at the top websites to make sure people click on their website and think its the legit government website. When I looked at reviews on the site it seemed good, but obviously those were fake reviews since I checked later and those reviews dates and times did not make sense.
I just wasn't paying attention (stupid, I know) and I should have realized when they wanted me to pay first and were charging huge amount of fees for a visa at 4 times the price. I started filling out the form and was having lots of technical issues and realized this might be a scam.

Then when I did some research, I noticed this was not the official website and did not need to pay these huge fees and allot of people were mentioning they got scammed by this website. The website would email me every 5 mins to finish filling out the form and send all my passport info and so on.

I asked for a refund through proper process as per their website, and I was still getting mails every 5 mins asking me to continue the process.

Go through official government website and be careful.
