I accidentally used UKVisaPortal to start an application for a UK ETA:
They probably paid Google to be at the top websites to make sure people click on their website and think its the legit government website. When I looked at reviews on the site it seemed good, but obviously those were fake reviews since I checked later and those reviews dates and times did not make sense.
I just wasn't paying attention (stupid, I know) and I should have realized when they wanted me to pay first and were charging huge amount of fees for a visa at 4 times the price. I started filling out the form and was having lots of technical issues and realized this might be a scam.
Then when I did some research, I noticed this was not the official website and did not need to pay these huge fees and allot of people were mentioning they got scammed by this website. The website would email me every 5 mins to finish filling out the form and send all my passport info and so on.
I asked for a refund through proper process as per their website, and I was still getting mails every 5 mins asking me to continue the process.
Go through official government website and be careful.
I used the portal for the first time and it is very user friendly with clear and simple instructions and a very quick response time.

I’m not very IT savvy so it was a bit of a challenge for me to email passport photos, email them to myself and drag and upload them. The rest of the process was straightforward.

No answers when contacting them for cancellation. They just keep going, and redraws your money on and on.

speedy results but the $115USD was a bit pricy

Web site is made to look similar to the UK site. It posts the cost of the ETA Visa from the Gov(Dot)UK/eta site, approx 20 Euro and somewhere on the page (conveniently not obvious), informs you they are charging you 100 Euro. They refer to that as transparent pricing. Go to the Gov(dot)UK/eta site.
Website friendly and easy to use. Some minor confusion on our part about the fees, which didn't seem to add up. We proceeded anyway, and both review and approval were fast and efficient.
We had made a mistake on the application but we received a call from a very helpful person. Problem was immediately resolved.
We've traveled a lot, and this application was the easiest ever.

My parents fell for this scam and paid over 190€ for their ETAs that would usually cost £20 each. I will be reporting this website to the UK police fraud department and the UK National Cyber Security Centre and encourage everyone to do the same. Impersonating government websites to operate a scam is a crime carrying prosecution and hefty penalties.
