I recently had some issues with a monitor
I recently had some issues with electronics and to visit Ubreakifix in O Fallon MO. Kudos to Sixto who works at that location for the time and efforts to help me with the situation. He will get further business from me when the need arises.
7 visits to fix their own mistakes
I am giving 2 stars solely because the techs at Union City at least gave me no fuss about fixing the problems they created, but in all it took 7 visits to fix my phone and then fix the subsequent issues. Everyone here was very nice but they are unfortunately not very good at repairing phones.
I made an appointment on their website for the repair I needed, but when I arrived, they didn't have the necessary part. So next time I made an appointment, I called ahead to make sure they had the part... and when I arrived, they were missing the glue needed to actually USE the part. Third time they had the part and repaired it. Then I discovered they had left dust in front of the camera lens, so I had to go back for them to fix that. Afterwards I noticed severe microphone issues, so I went back and they explained they had left the plastic on the microphone. They fixed that, but then I discovered yet AGAIN they had left dust in front of the camera lens! Now the dust has been removed but who knows what other problems they have introduced. I wish I had checked reviews before going there, it was so many hours of my life I'm never getting back.
uBreakiFix needs to be held accountable…
uBreakiFix needs to be held accountable for their scams, intentionally damaged our $500 micro PC and $300 hoverboard to charge more for repair, but told on themselves because I had asked for a quote to upgrade not repair, both were running fine before we took it in, the PC was definitely not shorted out from water damage, got the diagnostic logs from the previous repair shop Compuzone Inc in Northwoods Charleston and even brought it to them again after and they agreed the PC had been intentionally damaged.
Took my phone in to repair a cracked…
Took my phone in to repair a cracked back glass on Iphone 13 Pro Max. Phone was working fine. The phone no longer had a working power button nor were the volume buttons working. They promised to order parts and repair since it was their fault. Parts came in and were found defective. Ordered parts again. This activity all took 3 weeks. The store Charlotte Pineville Matthews called after we dropped the phone off and indicated they were having problems. There has been no method to contact the store for the last 2 weeks as they indicate their phones are inoperable and are hard to repair. WE went back before closing only to be told the phone was now totally dead. At least they are buting a new phone because they cause damage but wait another week. The store does not call to inform us of pickup day/time. Over 4 weeks with no satisfaction. I will never use again. Please avoid.
Bad Service
Tried to make a time through the website several times and the page just spun and spun at every try. So I called the store and asked if they had the battery I needed he said yes, but come in the next day.
Next day I drive to the store and he says we don't have the battery, but he could order one. So I left the store and got it repaired somewhere else. Waste of time and effort. Store was in N Naples Fla
SCAM REPAIRS AT NEW HYDE PARK uBreakiFix | Asurion in New Hyde Park…
uBreakiFix | Asurion in New Hyde Park Long Island is TERRIBLE. Took my HP 2019 laptop in to be fixed after paying the $109 Asurion Requires from customers. This shop did not bother transferring my files from the laptop after installing a new harddrive. There was a spill on the computer that eroded the harddrive which they say had to be changed, but somehow this shop thought they could save the motherboard that had the same spill that turned corrosive. The keypad does not work with the "bounce" in the keys it used to have. Additionally they installed Windows 10 on my laptop. I spoke with the manager and explained I DID NOT WANT WINDOWS 10 on this laptop for numerous reasons.
He spoke of how he would get Windows 7 or 8 reinstalled. Also promised to transfer my files from the old harddrive which they had to search to find, though it was an item that should have been returned to me with the computer and he agreed it should have been returned to me and I should have been consulted before any software was put on the laptop. After all the talk and assurances, three days later they email to say my computer was ready to be picked up. I picked up TODAY and found THEY HAD DONE NOTHING TO THE COMPUTER, it still had windows 10 on it though I made certain they knew I did not want it on my laptop and I even provided three different versions of my own Windows7 on CD.. They transferred none of the other files to the new drive as promised and remove the Windows 10 files. They said the laptop would not take Windows 7, though that is what came on the laptop originally and was used all along. IN other words they did squat to the computer and just played games. Never even called to say anything, just pretended they had done the work.
This used to be a very good repair shop before new management and staff came on recently. Like most people who work for the big corporations he is really good at agreeing to do things he KNOWS HE HAS NO INTENTION OF DOING. Don't trust this guy or the shop with your equipment. They are trying to save pennies and take shortcuts. Guess there is a good reason the other folk who worked there before left the place.
From the start without even opening the computer the repair person dealing with my computer when I called to check after being notified parts were ordered was an arrogant jerk. I wanted to know what parts were ordered, he said an outercase was all. When I inquired about the motherboard he insisted THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR MOTHERBOARD. He had not even opened the computer to see what was going on inside. I asked him how could he know. The computer gave a warning that the motherboard was damaged and not to try to boot it up further. Several repair shops overseas said it needed a new motherboard that repairing it would not last due to the damage.
Instead he used some cleaning fluid that makes the computer stink and gives a horrible headache from the toxic smell. How long can this last when you see the corrosion on the harddrive? it is clear that there was significant damage to the computer's interior. When my family member in the household was overseas with the computer on a college trip, everyone there said it could not be fixed or if it was fixed it would not last. At the college on returning, the IT department also said the motherboard had to be changed and keys were sticking, the touchpad was wonky. At that time the harddrive was still booting but giving errors.
Yet three months after the spill and a harddrive that told the story of how corroded the interior was ( the manager described it as if acid had spilled on it), they somehow patched up the motherboard? And the touchpad is not tight anymore but feels like stretched cloth now. The touch screen works differently too. It is much slower and only some things move, others get kind of stuck.
Don't waste your money with these people. They are crooks and liars. They know full well this repair won't last and it is a poor patchup job. My repair is NOT COMPLETE because they changed my operating system without permission and did a half-A--ed job. What is the point of insurance when this is what you get????
THEY DESERVE NO STARS, and if Asurion encourages this type of bogus sham repair, noone should buy their insurance. This was not cheap, $109 plus the monthly insurance fee. I wanted my Windows 7 computer fixed and the info/programs on the laptop that ran with it, and the built in DVD which is the last of this ty and is the main reason I paid for the repair to have it fixed rather than buy a new one in the first place. But if it was not fixable they should have been honest and done the right thing. It is time for competition to push Asurion aside when this is the end result of insurance. That's what's wrong with this Country, no viable competition is permitted to start up. They have taken over the repair shops so hardly any independent shops remain.
3 months, no answers
I shipped my device in february. It's May, I still don't have it. I have no email confirmation of any order or transaction, even though every time I call they have it on file, and I know they have my email address because I'm getting their spam. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, you're better off fixing it yourself.
Took samsung phone in for a cracked…
Took samsung phone in for a cracked screen only, told us it would be a couple hrs. Waited and then it would be Monday. Monday said it would be Tuesday. Tuesday get here now the phone won't come on, they saying motherboard messed up and need a new replacement phone. Phone was working fine just had a Crack down middle of a fold 4. Horrible communication and making up reasons.
Charged me, didn't solve a thing though.
I dropped off an xbox one. I stated that the problem was it wouldn't download updates. I said I don't know if its a hardware or software problem but had already gone through all the troubleshooting steps from Microsoft. They took the device and said they'd do diagnostics. They later called and said it needed a new hard drive. I paid $161 for the new hard drive. I got home and it still had the exact same problems I brought it in over. If they don't know what the problem is, they should say it. They should test a different drive to identify that as the problem. I think they didn't figure it out so they just said it needs a new drive. If you can't solve the customers' problems, don't charge them. It's better to return the item and say you can't solve the problem. I will never bring anything to them again and will tell others to choose another option.
Irreparable Damage Done but Refuses to Replace
This is for the Martinsburg location:
UPDATE 4/28: We learned from another uBreakiFix location that the issue caused by the failure of the Martinsuburg location is not fixable and after speaking to the General manger for the area, were told we should get a replacement iPad. However, Junior, the manager of the Martinsburg location has since REFUSED and said that we must allow him to "send it away" (for how long he won't tell us) and that he will NOT be replacing the iPad, despite what the General Manager said stating it "Is not up to him"
DO NOT use this location! They are dishonest, rude, and incompetent. Go elsewhere.
The only reason this place is getting even 1 star is because they did fix the problem for which we took it in. HOWEVER, not only did it take LONGER than we were told (and they were rude when we called to inquire after the estimated completion date had passed) but they ALSO created a NEW problem and now we are going to have to spend even more money to get it fixed.
So, we took our daughter's iPad in for repair after she broke off part of the lightning cable in the charging port and we couldn't get it out. When my husband dropped it off on a Monday, they quoted him about $150 to fix it and told him they would need to send it in for repair since it involved the charging port and any work related to that required pieces to be sautered. And that it would take about a week. So he left it with them. A week later, on a Tuesday, since we had not heard anything, he gave them a call to check on it. The employee he spoke to was not only RUDE but mocked him for actually expecting it to be done within the week. He said "They (the people they sent it to) didn't even receive it until Thursday so I'm not sure why you think it should be done already." When my husband explained that he had been told it would be done in a week (not a week from when the place it was shipped to received it) the employee called out to someone else "Hey this guy is wanting his iPad, how many more weeks is it going to be?" That other employee responded that it would not take weeks and to check back the following week.
It was finally done the following week... they had had it for two weeks (not the one week we were quoted)... so we drove to pick it up. Happy it was working, he paid and we left. On the drive home, we noticed that out daughter could not access some of the apps so further research indicated that the iPad was no longer connected to our cellular plan. After a call to Verizon, we realized that the iPad no longer recognized the SIM or even recognized that it had a SIM PORT. Someone they had broken it. So we called UBREAKIFIX a couple days later.
They said it couldn't POSSIBLY be as a result of something they did because "The charging port is not near the SIM" port and told us it was "Not their Problem that we should work it out with Verizon." Upon further argument from my husband, they said we could bring it back up and they would send it off to be "diagnosed" then they would let us know if they could fix it and how much. Which is RIDICULOUS, considering that they are the ones who broke it.
I DO NOT recommend this place and we will never go there again. When we dropped it off, it was cellular capable. When we picked it up, it was not. Now we are looking at having to spend even more money to take it to Apple to get it fixed. Which I guess we should have just done in the first place. Lesson learned.
Save your money. Don't take the chance with this company.
Not even servicing what the Website claims
Went to the Website, entered my phone model with all additional stuff.
They sent me to one service location, 25min driving away.
Just to find out: they do not even service the manufacturer ( Motorola ) and are not even able to order parts !
I went to a competitor and they ordered a part ( 1 day ) and fixed in 1 hour.
Horrible service horrible all young…
Horrible service horrible all young kids with no work ethic period
I took my 2 month
I took my 2 month, brand new phone in because it wasn't holding a signal. After 7 weeks I called for an update. I was told they put 2 new mother boards in it and was told the phone could not be repaired. They said they contacted Google, I have not heard from Google. I asked them to resend the information and they told me they could not. They did not have a number for google for me to call. I was told I could pick the phone up. No solutions. Very frustrating.
WARNING!!
WARNING!!
If I could give ZERO STARS I would. I took my computer in for a new battery. It should have taken 3 hours. THEY BROKE MY COMPUTER AND TOOK 6 WEEKS TO FIX IT. During the 6 weeks there was an extreme lack of communication. I had to call them 95% of the time to find out what was going on. Since the main person I was working with quit putting notes in the system after the second week it made it even more difficult to find out what was happening. Even though the main person I was working with said he gave me a refund in the first week, he didn't, they kept my money for the whole 6 weeks. I suspect I wouldn't have gotten it back at all except I discovered in the 5th week that I knew the owners mother. I have 7 pages of notes from every interaction with this company so I can't put all that here.
And they lost all my data even though they have 2 posters in the store about how they can recover any data.
JUST DON'T GO HERE.
Fixed and educated
I took an old laptop in to the Reno location to get an upgraded hard drive. The person doing the work was helpful and patient with me, a near-total computer illiterate. Being happy with that result, I took a newer laptop in to get it upgraded. A different technician at the shop was was helpful and advised me that this newer laptop did not need an upgrade and suggested I contact my ISP to check on the bandwidth they were providing me.
Worker told me rudley that i was too…
Worker told me rudley that i was too early (10 minutes). I wad given the impression from the website that repair was between $40 and $50 and was informed to buy a
new device that he would charge $150 to $200. What a waste of time and gas!
Update
Update: This place is a absolute joke! It's the next day and the guy who was suppose to be working on my computer that called out yesterday and supposed to be in today, called out again. So I went to get my computer back and found out that not only did they do absolutely nothing, they were lying the entire time about starting the process. They never touched it. It's in the same exact condition as when I dropped it off. Now I lost two weeks of work and the money for the first month of the service program that they conned me into signing up for. I'm definitely working on my refund, but I warn you, if you go to this place it's at your own risk! If they had a zero or negative number rating I would have given it that! FACTS!
This is one of those if I could give 0…
Memphis, TN locations; This is one of those if I could give 0 stars I would situations. Terrible staff. Poor service. Poor communication. Poorly ran. Owner is monopolizing these shops only to hire unintelligent staff, manager/owner unable to manage situations, and overall poor service. Kept my work computer for over a month, did not start buy out process until I called corporate. Filed consumers complaint, did not respond. Terrible Asurion is making a mistake by allowing this Brian guy to monopolize these locations. He is unable to manage these locations properly. Not to mention he tried to repair my Mac book, the owner Brian or Brandon, and returned it to me saying it was all good only to travel out of the country, and find out I could not have zoom meetings, because it was not actually repaired properly. Part was said to be on order for over 2-3 weeks, but in fact there was no part at all.
I took my Galaxy Z Flip 3 in to have…
I took my Galaxy Z Flip 3 in to have the front screen replaced at $575!!! I come in to pick up the phone and open it in front of the employee for the 1st time and the back falls off! This broke the front screen connector. They blame it on the pop up I had on it. This Part worked fine until they worked on it. Now it's falling apart 1st time it's opened in front of them and it's my fault?!? Now I need to pay for more parts? If I had known I would have saved the $700 and bought a new phone. They take no responsibility.
Running a warranty rejection scam
Be very wary of this company. Took a Samsung Fold under warranty in to be repaired. They said that due to physical damage on the phone Samsung would reject the repair. The physical damage they referenced was very minor scuffs on the side of the phone where the hinge rubbed the protective case. (The phone was in a hard case from the day it was bought.) They claimed that if they fixed the phone under warranty that Samsung would refuse to pay them. They suggested I pay the $500+ myself. After going around with them it came out that "Samsung doesn't pay us what it is worth to fix these phones and they only make money when people pay themselves." Thus, they try to find reasons to reject warranty claims. I took the phone the same day to Best Buy, they repaired it and never even mentioned the "scuffs." Ubreak is headed for a class action lawsuit.
