New to the app & not a lot available in…
New to the app & not a lot available in my immediate 5km radius. However if I'm. Going a bit further there are some good options in Silverdale & Orewa it's important to get the timing right, as in reserving a surprise bag before it's taken & also I only reserve 1 if I'm going to be in the area already for an appointment etc.I've had 2 great surprise bags ....good luck

It was my first time using the app and…
It was my first time using the app and didn't see the confirmation..At the store it was confusing because although Ihad paid with my credit card and reserved earlier I was unable to show them proof so I ordered and paid again on the app with the cashier..Later that night I saw the confirmation for both orders on my phone but it wasn't really worth going back to rectify it as I live 12K away. I still feel that I got a great deal and was very happy with the order and I will make sure that I get the confirmation for next time. Thanks Susan

If the app doesn’t work, you lose out on the money
The app wouldn’t load so after paying $18 for this particular rescue, I wasn’t able to pick it up because it wouldn’t show me the location the timeframe Etc. When I got onto the help section , the chat bot didn’t even try to decipher what I said and just said sorry you couldn’t make it.

Peanut Allergy- No warning!
I know the bags are surprises, however I am severely allergic to peanuts and I wish that I was able to put that option in my order or they would great bags for those with allergies. The cookie bag smelt heavily of peanuts and when I asked the employee who provided the bag for me of peanuts were inside she was unable to provide any information. The cookies I received clearly contained peanuts when I opened the bag and, therefore, the entire bag had to be thrown away which defeats the whole purpose of reducing waste.

Because Surprise Bags comprise surplus daily items, it remains the customer's responsibility to verify suitability, though we kindly encourage asking store staff for ingredient details upon collection.
If the contents of a Surprise Bag include allergens, customers may refuse the collection directly at the store and contact our support team. This allows us to issue a full refund while ensuring the bag can be put back online for another user to save, thereby preventing food waste.

I've had several wonderful experiences, some bad ones
I've had several wonderful experiences, good qualities of fresh tasty food. But three times I have been disappointed... small quantities of cheap food. The worst was the $8 surprise meal from an Indian restaurant. The food was just one small container of curried rice with a little overcooked goat meat. Not worth the trip.

I got 2 lbs of macaroni salad
I got 2 lbs of macaroni salad. It is delicious! The owner told me he makes the mac salad for Rubino's and other delis, restaurants. It usually sells for $10 per pound. It is located in an older structure. The front door was locked. Had to go around back through what was a storage/kitchen area. But do not let this keep you from getting one of these tasty salads!

Easy to use the app, once downloaded, great quality items at hugely reduced price! I've had a bag from Greg's and a sweet pastry bag from Starbucks and was surprised at the amount I got for such a cheap price (£2.99) I got 6 items in each bag! Also, this app helps reduce food going to waste!
