Bayley Croft development
Bayley Croft development. Amazing sales Michelle was great gave us all information that I requested and could not have been more helpful she’s an asset to the company. Overall the site is great location. Sadly I had a flood 4 months in due to a manufacturing faulty part but can’t fault SM they came in redecorated replaced all the carpet and any other damaged items. Sad thins is 1 year and 10 months in still not finished the snag list. Very close to done but not this is really frustrating. A year ago the grounds looked great but now not so much the grass is not cut well missing loads weeds and thistles growing everywhere and when the grass is now cut all the cuttings are left behind.and all over the pavement they don’t do anything like they used to. Today they have cut the grass and bottomed out the cutting bed causing mud patch’s with no grass. Think I’d buy a tractor and do the development my self and cut the service charge is so a better job.
Quality is non existent
Quality is non existent, safety, basic water testing and inspections before handover are non existent. Evasive customer care who deliberately ignore nearly every plea you make for them to fix substandard workmanship that is raised on your first remedial list.
Sales sell you the dream and the dagger slides in your back after you pay your money. Everything falls on deaf ears and you are left to pick up the pieces of a hollow promise of a good home at least meeting NHBC standards.
Avoid Stewart Milne and look elsewhere, persimmon do a more robust product than this mob and that is a fact.
BRACKENHILL- POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Awful service at Brackenhill Estate Hamilton. Snagging list still not completed. Complaints being kicked into the long grass or ignored.
Be very aware of reporting anything to site manager and or Sales team verbally. I would record your conversations, as, they, in our case were not logged of officially acknowledged when discussed as we accepted the keys (major issues with doors and windows, highlighted by Site manager on entry date).
They promised the world and quoted, quite ironically, that they are hoping to be a five star builder, going on to state they getting phase 2 right as they didn't get phase 1 right!! Then, within weeks of you moving in and no repairs being carried out, they transfer you over to their Customer Services who delay, delay delay and bat back emails and you get nowhere.
We have been quoted 7 day timelines for snagging to be reported, yet they cannot meet their own promised timelines or booked in appointments. The time spent chasing these issues is disgraceful.....
We have had Faulty heating which dragged our for over a month before it was fixed( during winter), Issues with the flooring, window ledges and windows, front garden left partially planted with promises made by the sales team, site manager this would be fixed immediately (In August) I am now deafened by the silence regarding the Front Garden as no-one will take responsibility for rectifying it.
Damaged kitchen, only partially fixed..... still waiting
Ongoing extensive issues with windows and doors that have been reported and not fixed. Faults reported to Site manager in August alongside subsequent other issues over the last 6 months, including emergency locksmiths/ joiners having to attend house to keep us secure and safe unfortunately causing further damage!
Customer Services are now refusing to even send an inspector out to look at the windows and doors that we have issues with, possibly a manufacturing issue and upstairs windows that do not open!
We have had a Customer Service Administrator make this decision through emails without her setting foot in the house? Yes this is the level of service we have received, quite unbelievable. At no point did the Customer Service person inform me of her Double glazing / joinery/ locksmith training, so naturally I am not accepting this response
We were told.........After moving in to an almost £300 thousand pound house just over 6 months ago, that our door and windows DO NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY!
I still have warranty on new windows that I put in my previous house from a local builder over 18 months ago, yet Stewart Milne will not even send out a glazier to fix our issues at Brackenhill on a 6 month old house?
How can this be right?
The response received from STEWART MILNE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. We will not be sending out anyone as you did not report the window issues within 7 days. ( We did, but verbally to the site manager) .
Brand new house and the guarantee on the windows only last 7 DAYS. UNBELIEVABLE and illegal!
Please be aware of this. We are now having to employ an independent snagging specialist, and seek legal advice.
They do not honour the Builders code of conduct with supplying you with emails / numbers of manager to escalate complaints. You constantly feel that you are being ignored in the hope that you will eventually give up!
They are apparently very busy just now.
If you have committed to buy, please be on your guard. Record conversations in writing if need be and ensure your sales team go over 7 days notice for windows and doors and get them checked by an independent specialist forensically or you will be in for a terrible time getting this company to fix anything.
I am aware of other residents on the estate with window issues within the 2 years getting these addressed, so to add insult to injury there seems to be a, "he who shouts the loudest" method of dealing with issues going on. What a way to treat customers?
You are made out to be a liar and an inconvenience for raising issues. I have lost count of the times I have waited in for work men that have not shown up.
Their customer service is an utter shambles. Disgusted with their service and intend on sharing this information as far and wide as I can until the customer Service team address the snagging list.
Visit Trading Standards for advice-highly recommend, They will offer legal advice as will Citizens Advice
I would love a response from Stewart Milne Customer Management and Resolution department. I am happy for them to visit our house, with the site manager who made promises that are now not being honoured to be present as we go over our snagging list too. I will be continuing to seek independent advice as to how to escalate this further. Stewart Milne, raise your game, disgraceful way to treat customers, resulting them having to consult lawyers.
Avoid Stewart Milne Homes!
Avoid Stewart Milne Homes!
The 5 star reviews are put on by their staff to balance out the bad reviews.
We have lived in our home now for 27 months and snagging is STILL not resolved. Please go to a different builder such as Taylor Wimpey. They are struggling financially and have massively reduced how much they spend and their quality of workmanship is awful. I cannot believe how terrible their customer service approach is. They simply do not care about their customers and are not interested in fixing their mistakes. Awful! Their staff turnover is incredibly high, we have dealt with over 5 different site managers and each claim to no nothing about our snagging list from our 7 day snag visit. I cannot stress enough how bad they are.
Further to my review of 24th January…
Further to my review of 24th January 2022 after last nights storm, 4 tiles blown away from the roof, clear daylight into the attic, this a TWO YEAR OLD BUILD and a worse storm on the way tomorrow. Could have been caused by a fault on the eaves
from last year , contractors not able to repair as too close to the boundary for ladders or scaffolding. Another Stewart Milne cock up. Cost the family 5k in solicitor fees so far not to mention mental health stress and our local MP on the case . Stewart Milne just be glad our small grandchildren were not in the garden at the time . Our daughter and son in law are desperate for a response from this crap company .
I again have had to raise this on Trust…
I again have had to raise this on Trust Pilot as I am now currently trapped in the building as the front door is closed and is not opening via entry system exit button or the safety lock which is there so as nobody gets trapped in the building is not turning. I have tried to contact the Site Manager and customer service but no response.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I couldn’t be happier with our beautiful new house. Stewart Milne as a whole company are incredible and we cannot thank them enough.
Our house is built to such a high quality standard with minor snagging which is to be expected with any new build.
The attention to detail and thorough care taken by sales, builders and every member of the company we dealt with throughout the journey has been exceptional.
Especially given these times with the pandemic.
We cannot recommend them highly enough!
We have numerous messages from friends/family asking who built our house.
Stewart Milne new build
Bought our house from Stewart Milne Homes recently and have had a great experience. Great sized rooms, finish is to a high standard and all staff we met and communicated with were really helpful and nothing was ever an issue. We had very minor snagging works when we moved in and these were fixed in a timely manner. We love our home, and what makes it even better is the amazing landscaping and street scene created on the development.
Excellent service & quality
We have had an excellent experience buying our new home, from the sales process right through to the house itself. The quality of build and finish is really impressive and the development itself well-presented. All the staff we have encountered have been friendly, helpful and professional. Would highly recommend.
AVOID AVOID!!
AVOID AVOID!!! After 12 years building is falling into pieces constant bursted pipes and mold. CHEAP windows and thin walls. Better go for a second hand house .
BUYER BEWARE
BUYER BEWARE. I had a written agreement with these people to buy a property with 5% contribution to deposit with lawn and fencing included. After a 100 mile round trip to visit the sales office and make a reservation I was told by their representative that the management had changed their mind about their offers, and renaged on what they had put in writing to me.
Avoid at all costs!
From the day our house was signed over to us with a massive gas leak, Stewart Milne have been totally useless! Zero customer care after signed contract. Will lie through their teeth to get the sale but ignore you straight after. Over two years in and only just getting things from 7 day snagging list done after constant emails/calls/NHBC involvement (to a very poor standard). Original snagging list was signed off behind our backs by site manager! Kitchen ceiling has collapsed 3 times due to faulty plumbing, garden drainage so poor that half the garden is a permanent pond, windows in kids rooms missing safety catches, foundation of kitchen floor so uneven you cut your feet walking on it, no cold water plumbed into main shower scalding my little boy plus hundreds and hundreds of decorative snags...Avoid Stewart Milne and save yourself years of stress and wasted time!
PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE…
PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE ENTERTAINING ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SO CALLED COMPANY.. STEWART MILNE LOVES TO FILL HIS POCKETS WHILE OTHERS HAVE TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS CRAP COMPANY . WORST HOMEBUILDERS IN THE UK. IVE HEARD ALOT OF TALK OF THE SOURCING OF THE CHEAP MATERIALS TO BUILD THE HOUSES AND THATS WHY SO MANY PROBLEMS KEEP ARISING. NOT A TRUSTED COMPANY . WANT TO LIVE IN A POOR QUALITY BOX ? WANT TO FILL THE POCKETS OF A EXTREMELY GREEDY OLD MAN? WANT TO HAVE ISSUE AFTER ISSUE IN A NEW BUILD HOME ? WELL THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE FOR YOU. I CANT EMPHASISE ENOUGH AND WARN BUYERS TO STAY AWAY OTHER WISE YOU ARE IN FOR A REAL MESS. ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES OF A ‘ COMPANY’
I wish you could select no stars
I wish you could select no stars. They don't deserve 1 star. They deserve minus five stars.
Do not give your money to Stewart Milne. They employ cheap contractors who provide cheap inadequate workmanship and then once you have moved in and you find all the problems with quality of fitting kitchens, bathrooms and carpets they don't want to know. Shabby, unprofessional, incaring management. Even their Director is unapproachable.
Terrible build quality
Terrible build quality, shocking after sales service, have never been so disappointed after buying numerous new builds from value builders with no issues using a highly priced Stuart Milne having over 200 snagging issues still not resolved 18 months later is unacceptable . Worse company I have ever dealt with
Fantastic Experience from Stewart milne…
Fantastic Experience from Stewart milne at Bayley Croft development The sales staff outstanding Michelle explained everything clearly and filled us with confidence she knows her site in side out. The site team Nick and Neil could not have been more helpful we love our new home and will not hesitate to recommend this company to others
Crap company
Crap company, they NEVER reply to phone calls or emails. Taking ages to get them to rectify simple things and emails getting ignored
Colinhill Grange development…
Colinhill Grange development Strathaven......Reed Way. Emergency call out in my opinion will wait and see if Stewart milne agree. Would be great if customer services could contact me to discuss and explain that after two years from purchasing a new build water is entering my property. On inspection the lack of cement between the bricks is a clear indicator of the issue. Pointing was on my snagging from day one. Which is still outstanding, covid has only been with us for 1 year so cant use that as an excuse as im in the property 3 years in August. By the look of it and the mould it has been leaking for a while. No one picking phone up in customer services. Email sent to customer services. Photos available to view.
Emergency number to call 03453583630 just shows how professional this company is when you call the emergency hotline. Automated voice tells you to hold to speak to someone. Then you are cut off every time. How can anyone take this company seariously if they can't get their emergency line in order.
Do not buy a Stewart Milne House!!
Do not buy a house through Stewart Milne. Such a shame because the plot of land we bought our house on is in such a good location. We have lived in our house for 3 years now and we have had nothing but problems. The estate is still not finished and they are even refusing to finish certain areas off, stating that they are complete. Many lies got told in the sale of our house and snags are yet to be complete, they have had 2 attempts at joinery issues, being a timber frame company you would think this would be easy, certainly not (still not sorted). They carried out work to our garden without our permission or knowledge (whilst at work) and have made a right mess of it. Now they refuse to have any responsibility in putting it right. Unfortunately I haven't got anything positive to say about Stewart Milne. Workmanship is poor and the customer services is unbelievably poor. Many houses on the estate are being sold due to the issues caused by Stewart Milne, which sums them up.
Stewart Mine Dargavel Village
Dargavel Village Plot 186 - Very attentive at the sales side ..but once you are in expect dreadful service. After 14 months we still don't have our 7day and 14 day fault list (its long) even barely started. Doors missing from kitchen, Completely different work surface finishes, No tiles or back splashes on kitchen or utility, Boiler yet to be boxed in garage door not opening. The worst plastering I have ever seen in my life...Outside pointing a disgrace. Doors that shut automatically that would take your fingers off. I could go on and on and on. Probably the worst company I know for after sales. Take your money get you in and then don't want to know you. I just wonder if Stuart Milne board know how poorly they are looking after their customers.. All my neighbours have the same feeling and we tell everyone. With a New house you are always going to get problems but a measure of a good company is how well they respond to fix these problems. I give Stewart Milne a 0/10.
