Fortunately no import customs were due, it was free to import (probably because import rules considered it too cheap).
The embossed "hammer & sickle" shown on its bottom suggests the article was made in the former Soviet Union (CCCP).
Its workmanship and finishing is sloppy, but will suffice for its simple operation.
