Beautiful sinks but rubber protectors a disappointment
I purchased two mini sink soap dishes and a white protective mat for my kitchen ceramic sink. The items looked great and I was very pleased. However, the sink protector started to pucker after a few weeks of use and today after just 4 months of having it, it is going in the recycling (or bin). Sadly, the rubber type material has gradually softened, consequently ripped in places and basically has fallen apart, with little rubber crumbs left in my sink. I would have expected more life for the item. I will be emailing Customer Services to enquire but if this is a reflection of its longevity I’m not sure this product is up to Shaws standards. Delivery was fast, and well packaged.

Shaker 600 sink
My Shaker 600 sink was as expected great quality, well packed and delivered. I already have a Shaker 900 double sink which is why I chose to buy from them again. The free care pack is a nice touch aswell.

Excellent, efficient and friendly service
Two years ago I had a Shaws of Darwen kitchen sink installed in Germany with which I am still very happy. Recently there was a minor issue with a gasket of the drain, most probably caused by a mistake of the kitchen builder. When I got into contact with Shaws of Darwen, they responded quickly and extremely friendly and they sent me a new gasket without charge.

I work for a reputable kitchen company who have high-end clients. We ordered a sink from Shaw's, and unfortunately it had a scratch on it. Being a little up against it in regard to organizing other trades in quite a tight schedule. Shaw's (specifically a lady called Sandra) helped us immensely in getting a new sink out to our valued customer to ensure that the fitting didn't delay which could have been extremely inconvenient and costly. I can't thank Shaw's enough for how they dealt with this problem and the personal service I received with regular updates without being prompted, honest and realistic responses and actually one person who I could talk to about the problem rather than being passed around from rep to rep. This kind of service reflects their high quality products. The whole package is here with these guys. I would recommend them in a heart beat to not only other businesses but customers too. Thanks, Sandra and Shaw's, keep up the good work.

Belfast sink biscuit colour
I ordered unseen as we have no showroom available on the Isle of Wight. I particularly didn't want white and took a bit of a risk with "biscuit". I am not disappointed, it's a lovely Ivory colour and a really nice quality sink. We are, unusually, installing it with the overflow back against the wall and wall mounted Bib taps to give it the "scullery" look we are creating in our utility room which also is the most used entrance to our house. Well done Shaw's and also for not making delivery to the IOW prohibitive.

We have recently installed your Whitewell taps in our kitchen and just wanted to say they are the most wonderful taps we have ever had!! They make washing up a joy. Poor quality, not value for money

Glazing crazed within 12 mths of installation and areas now chipped despite fitting a metal cradle to protect base. Calls to Shaw's within warrantee period were rebuked with 'This is normal'. Gave up chasing. They clearly have quality control issues.

Our sinks follow a traditional fireclay design with a relatively flat base, so many owners do wipe around with a cloth after use. Crazing is not normal, but can occur in any ceramic sink. No manufacturer has yet discovered a method of preventing it entirely, nor can crazing be predicted in advance. Very few Shaws sinks develop crazing, but if yours has, you may be able to make a warranty claim. Chips are also rare, and its surprising that you've had problems given that you have a sink grid. Your review suggests that you made a claim within the warranty but it was rejected, and now your warranty has expired? Are you a UK customer? If so, we'd be happy to take another look at this if you email your details to our Customer Services team at sales@shawsofdarwen.com. If you're an international customer please email so we can advise you further.

I had expected better quality & customer service
I had expected a much better customer service and build quality. The weir overflow is not fit for purpose and does not have the flow capacity to prevent flooding. Too our cost on two occasions. We brought this to the attention of Shaws sadly no response. The overflow outlet so small in diameter at the base it cannot cope as intended.
UPDATE .. 2021 The sink is now blocked in the overflow and giving off terrible smell. Have to clean out almost daily. Company not interested in rectifying the issue. Poor customer service in my opinion. Avoid buy a Franke sink instead

We're sorry to hear that you had a disappointing customer service experience with Shaws, and especially sorry that you are not happy with your sink. The issue you raise is genuinely not something we come across very often, if at all.
No overflow that we're aware of offers 100% protection against flooding. Most modern taps, paired with high water pressure, are capable of filling a sink quicker than an overflow can drain it. The overflow weirs on our Belfast and Pendle sinks are design features, based on sinks that have been made for over 120 years. We don't specifically promote them as more resistant to flooding than other sinks. But you raise a fair point - could we make the overflow work better, given the design of the sink? We will look at it, although I'm afraid it will not help your current situation.

Needed some spare parts quite urgently. Customer services were incredibly helpful making sure I got the right parts with incredibly fast next day delivery! Parts arrived as promised and were perfect.

Our Customer Services team have been in communication with you, but to progress the matter further we do need a proof of purchase. Obviously that can be a rather frustrating stipulation, but some of our sinks are essentially unchanged in design for over 100 years and our Lifetime Warranty is a relatively recent introduction. Hopefully you can locate your receipt, or identify the retailer or showroom your purchased it from, and we'll be very happy to take things further.
