If I could give 0 I would

If I could give 0 I would. COMPLETELY DESTROYED MY PROPERTY. Probably close to a thousand dollars in damage and apparently my warranty won’t cover that. So not only does this company not care about your stuff at all. They will not off anything back after destroying your stuff.

The team offered a resolution on Friday regardless, which will remain standing for 60 days should you wish to accept this.

We've used Send My Bag twice over 10 years ago. They didn't disappoint this time either providing excellent customer service and a speedy delivery of our two suitcases on this third occasion. We highly recommend them.

My whole experience was send my bags…

My whole experience was send my bags was beyond anything I expected. From the calls before placing the order and helping me to organize myself around packing for a transatlantic move, to the pick up of the boxes, to the expeditious delivery of all the boxes everything was so smooth and easy and uneventful.

One surprise after another.

I sent two suitcases of my own clothing to Vienna, Austria where I was going to visit for a week, then travel to other countries. I was quoted a price at the outset which was increased after I entered my bags' size and weight. At checkout I got my first surprise, a $62.00 "fuel surcharge" was added. Then I got another surprise when their partner, DHL, remeasured my bags and increased the "total volume" by 29%. I determined that they probably failed to fully retract the handles, thereby adding an inch and a half to the length and width of each suitcase. This resulted in another $50.00 charge which I protested to no avail. THEN in Vienna my bags were held in customs for three days without any notice as to why. On the fourth day I received an invoice for $350.00 plus for "import charges." I had to pay this outrageous fee in order have my bags delivered to my hotel, but again protested. (To be fair, SMB does state that Austrian customs "may" charge import fees on personal items even if for temporary use while visiting, but it is indefinite.) Anyway, when I arrived at my hotel and received my bags, I saw that only the one had been tagged by customs and that neither had actually been opened. Further, the paperwork disclosed that my bags had never left DHL custody, yet I was charged $50.00 per day "storage" as part of the $350.00 plus. Again I protested to no avail. SMB was of no help whatsoever. The lesson: travel light, buy what you need when there and do not use this or any other service to send your bags.

The price is based on both the size and weight of the items, when these are entered on Step 1, we can provide a full breakdown of the costs including the fuel surcharge costs applied. This allows a customer to make their own informed decision on whether the service / cost works for them, and their needs / price point.

We are not passing on the full increase in cost and our fuel surcharge is one of the lowest in the global freight industry.

Reviewing your order I can see you spoke with the team via email who had explained why the duties and taxes had been applied and the advice we provide prior to booking.

For your particular destination we had asked you to print out the statement 'I wish for my goods to be cleared as standard import and accept duties and taxes applied by Austrian Customs'. You physically signed this and uploaded it after booking.

The team are still happy to work with you through the dispute process, they are pending a response to the email they sent you on 23rd April, if you can provide the requested images we can work through this with you.

Send My Bag made me feel very confident…

Send My Bag made me feel very confident that this whole idea would work, without my bag being lost or damaged. This was my first time using this kind of service, and I was so pleased with Send My Bag that I won't even try the competition! Navigating the customs forms was SUPER simple, I recommend paying a few extra dollars for the ability to make changes (I did), and it was amazing that so much was digital (e.g., customs forms). The DHL pick-up person was very friendly, professional and timely - the new/shorter pickup windows concept worked great. I received emails from DHL the whole time, and my bag traveled from New Mexico to England in less than five days! Impressed and highly recommend.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Sent a box of dishes within the UK , packed it in bubble wrap and even put fragile stickers on the box , only to reach the destination all broken .
Looks like they threw my box around .
Don’t waste your money here , not worth the complaint either . They refused to take responsibility.

Send My Bag is primarily designed for sending clothing, shoes, books and items that do not require any additional packaging when placed inside a double walled cardboard box or a suitcase.

Whilst glassware and breakables are not prohibited and can be sent, we advise against sending these, and they are ultimately done so at the customers discretion. The nature of the network means that scanners are unable to read 'fragile' stickers or labelling on your items. - https://www.sendmybag.com/support/faqs/question/113/

It is just terrible

It is just terrible, feels like once you pay and they take your luggage, they don’t care anymore, one week waiting and now I have to be the one chasing my luggage. Is this a good service? Thank you for giving me the stress I was trying to avoid hiring you.

Smooth and confident shipping

We had a need to ship some travel items home mid-way through our travels through France. Friends recommended SendMyBag. We found the entire experience to be easy and well-executed, from using their website, watching informative videos, reserving and paying, to package pickup and delivery.
