In 2021 I was stranded in Morocco after…
In 2021 I was stranded in Morocco after the Government there closed all transport in and out of the country , a Covid 19 prevention measure. I had 24 hours to leave. Which after much additional expense I managed to do. I travelled 6 hours by taxi the only way to reach Casablanca and the last flight out of Morocco
Travel Insurance assessment was done and refused by Rightpath claims handler. Despite an appeal, I was refused again despite my Travel Insurance being fully comprehensive and clearly did cover this event. After much corresponding I reluctantly accepted their refusal.
2023, in the Philippines, the airport was closed after a plane accident on the runway. All flights cancelled from that airport. I had 24 hous to reach Manila to get my return flight home. Again after much travel and expense, hotel
for a night, Travel to another airport and booking a new flight with a different airline , I reached Manila with 2 hours to get my flight home.
Again it transpired that Rightpath was the Insurance Assessing company.
Again the claims handler stated the circumstances of my claim did not meet the criteria of the Policy . I requested a reassessment, which was again done by another claims handler at Rightpath, they refused my claim for the second time despite me quoting the Policy section fully meeting my criteria.
This time enough was enough. I requested their official Complaints Procedure. I emailed the facts and accompanying documents to Lloyd's Headquarters in Belgium. I also sent the full facts to the EU Ombudsman , as the Policy was taken out within the EU.
Both agreed that my Claim was justified and correct and contacted Rightpath, who have now have agreed to accept my Claim.
This was all so unessary. Everything I did was honest , correct and was clearly covered by my Travel Insurance Policy.
If this had not happened on 2 separate occasions with this company I would have simply accepted their decision and dismissed my Claim, despite knowing I was right and justified. But to be refused unjustly twice by the same company was beyond belief.
The Claims Handlers simply dismissed my words and evidence with no reasoning other than " this is not covered by the Policy".
I seriously question this companies staff training and PR policies.
In future I will check out which company is being employed to assess any Travel Insurance Policy before I buy it.
I wonder how many other people have gone through a similar experience with Righpath and simply accepted it, as I did the first time in 2021.
BE AWARE.
Date of experience: January 26, 2023

I have read these reviews and so for my experience has been opposite to what i have read. I have had a pleasant easy experience so far with my insurance claim. I have been dealing with Jessica, whom is very polite, patient and has answered my question. As i have never made a claim before its a daunting experience to provide everything required. Jessica answered my questions I had regarding documents, which allowed me to provide what was required. My claim is not complete, however I believe they have a difficult job and am so far very happy with the customer service i have been provided.

1 STAR RATING AS ZERO IS NOT POSSIBLE!
I gave 1 star rating as ZERO is not possible!
Well I have finally had my case reviewed and Rightpath have decided not to pay a penny due to a family member having an existing condition which was not an issue at the time of taking out my insurance. If a close relative had an existing medical condition, let's say angina, a tumour, some form of cancer or any medical condition which was not an issue. Are you supposed to not take out any travel insurance for the whole time they have this, which could be years! My father was unexpectedly taken ill the day before I was due to travel (and has since passed away) and I had no choice but to cancel. Rightpath have made this whole procedure absolutely horrendous from the start, and their lack of understanding and compassion is truly disgusting as human beings! I am now escalating this to the ombudsman to review my case. AVOID THIS SHAMBLES OF A COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! THE REVIEWS SAY IT ALL!

Avoid these Clowns
My partner and I were insured with Insure and Escape but Rightpath Claims handled the claim.
A very clear and easy claim was made into a total charade by these jokers. Tried to make it as difficult as possible by constantly rejecting perfectly good evidence and asking for new evidence to be resubmitted time and time again in their portal, they were so pedantic about the wording that you could not proceed unless it was exactly what they required.
Had to waste hours uploading evidence , maybe they think they will wear you down eventually and not pay out on what was a very clearcut claim. Finally got my money but it was an absolute pain to get . I'll never use them again.

Catastrophe of Cancellation?
Due to Covid our holiday (March 2020) was cancelled mid way through. We had to pay extra for our flights to get back from Australia. We were paid out under catastrophe not cancellation. Cancellation was £3000 p.p. Catastrophe was £500 p.p. We eventually got £1000 in total instead of £1875.00. We paid for the excess up front so none was deducted. I would happily use Globelink again but not while they are linked to Rightpath claims.

An absolute nightmare
I made a claim against my Globelink insurance and they passed the buck to this company. The claim
was for flights cancelled by Vuelling becase of Coronavirus. BA and Easyjet refunded me promptly but Vuelling continue to break the law by refusing to.
I had no reply for a month from Rightpath and after that I just kept getting rejection after rejection where they asked for documents like "cancellation invoices" which don't exist. After two months and a huge amount of work they rejected the claim outright saying they don't accept claims due to coronavirus. Even if that were a valid reason, they knew it was a coronavirus claim right at the beginning so why string me along like that? The EEC directive states clearly "The airline must offer you the reimbursement of your ticket," The Rightpath directive is "We have your money and we are going to keep it"

This company are your worst nightmare
This company are your worst nightmare. They are employed by Globelink insurance company to deal with claims. An exchange of one email will take approx two weeks. They will make unreasonable requests and go out their way to stress, frustrate and upset you, so that in the end you will abandon your claim. Avoid all companies that deal with this horrible company. Their conduct is shocking and they should be ashamed. PS.... With regards your reply. Myself and family have had policies with the same company for years. You first said my claim would need to be over two policies. Then next you said I was unsuccessful due to traveling outside date of policy. More rubbish as I have been with same company for years with no break it dates. Then you gave me the run around with your unreasonable requirements while I was stranded at the other side of the world during a pandemic, with only a mobile phone to gather information. This went on for months and and you were grasping at straws and STILL have not come up with a reasonable excuse for not honoring my claim. But Globelink have now lost at least eight customers due to this joke of a company 👏🏼

Slow and very complicated claims process.
Slow and very complicated claims process.
Claimed on my policy with Globelink International following a cancelled return flight from Vietnam as a result of Covid19. My claim was passed to RightPath and start of a lengthy, complicated process with instigated delay after delay.
Firstly claims form had to be printed, filled in, scanned and emailed to RP. Would be easier to fill in on line. Zipfiles not accepted and only PDF & JPEG files accepted. I had 11 documents to send. Each email sent I received auto reply stating 5-7 working days to get a response. Always responded on 7th day!! No short cut to get a simple response.
After lots of hassle and delay after delay, with 15 frustrating weeks I received final settlement.
Unfortunately you only get to know that your insurance company uses RP when you make a claim and with no option you have to follow their lengthy delayed process.
Be prepared if your claim is handed to RP!

Doesn’t pay out!
Easy and cheap to book online through Globelink Travel Insurance...unfortunately they just sent me straight to these this company called Rightclaim. Won’t pay out for a booking that was cancelled due to COVID at no fault of my own and I couldn’t accept a date change as unable to travel after the weekend of the booking. You’ve had two annual European policies from me but you won’t be getting another! I will take my business elsewhere and will not be recommending your services to any fellow expats living in London from now on. I have lost £180 for a flight and accommodation that I am UNABLE to use so vouchers aren’t worth anything when you can’t use them!

Avoid by any means possible
After an accident, I tried to claim from Cigna insurance who I pay my premiums to. They sent me a claim form which myself and my Dr. Had to fill out, I supplied all other (and hospital letters etc) information requested, which was the same as I had to do on a previous occasion when I made a claim.
Unfortuanatly, Cigna have passed my claim to this bunch of crack company's going under the heading of Rightpath. You would not believe the amount of additional information the are demanding before "considering" my claim. This is a mortgage protection policy covering sickness, accident, and unemployment. This ranges from my last 2 HMRC tax statements, to full details of all consultations, treatment, results etc from the hospital consultant and my Dr. Bloody ridiculous, I was admitted by ambulance and treated in resus by the hospital.
Unable to contact Cigna, so I've decided to pass the matter onto both the FCA, and FOS, the former requesting me to ask them if they are regulated by the FCA, and for their 'Firm ref. number'. I have requested this information twice, and both times they have failed to supply this information.
My advice, Ask every insurance company you deal with if they have any dealings with any of the following company's, and if so, run a mile and find a different insurer that manages their claims procedure them selves.
The old saying is true....You only know how good your insurance is when you try to claim.

This company were very good and fair on settling my Medical Insurance claim after an accident in South Africa . Only one bill was left outstanding at the end .but this wasnt Rightpaths claims fault it was the provider in South Africa who didnt seem to want to send them an invoice . So I paid on the statement to the SA company and Rightpath have given me details to claim back . All in All they were very good and the staff were professional and kept in touch to see if I was recovering okay .

Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful! Just got my second part of the refund after them refunding a load of my money to wrong back account in first place and then they’ve just refunded me £100 when I was owed £278! So someone please tell me where the rest of my £178 has gone? How can a company be so bad at giving us people our own money back! Not only has it took months which couldn’t of been the worst time of year but also you keep refunding people short of our money! Never felt so failed by a company in all my life!!!! What a great start to Christmas

A shambles to say the least. To be told they don't need anything from you, then oh yes we need a form completing, just waiting on a manager to email it to you. i get the form and send it back within 5 mins and a day later, same email again! Call them a few days later to check everything ok and guess what, no we just need a credit check now then we can settle your TC claim. This was Monday, today is Thursday and nothing done yet. Will never use this company if I needed to, they cannot handle it. AVOID
