This was my second total hip replacement, so I was more aware what to expect this time around albeit at a different hospital. What I perhaps wasn’t expecting was just how friendly, caring and even... See more

Absolutely first class experience for me. I think the best way to write this review is to simply put in here exactly what I wrote on the card which I took in to the Shepton Mallet hospital on my final post-op visit (along with boxes of treats for their staff rest room) - this was as follows:-
“I want to say thank you to all the staff that I met in my recent stay in the hospital.
Every single one of you was professional and efficient combined with pleasantness and humour.
My operation has been a complete success and I am truly grateful for all your efforts.
My sincerest thanks to you once again.”
I cannot praise the hospital highly enough as the staff and systems were simply superb - my thanks yet again to all there.

From the first appointment it was so easy, there was parking right outside the hospital , appointments really quick and efficient, staff helpful and friendly, the Surgeon was excellent , my knee replacement went so well, it’s six weeks after surgery and I am so pleased with how it all went so yes I would
Recommend Practice plus group Plymouth, I chose self pay as I had been waiting so long with the NHS and I put a deposit down and arranged a monthly payment with 0% finance which was so efficient. I’m getting my life back again with physio, I am so pleased with my knee replacement it’s changed my life.

The staff made the whole process seamless for my replacement hip operation, from the initial consultation and surgery through to discharge and a follow up phone call.

This service is complete rubbish. They keep you waiting for hours for them to answer the phone, just to tell you that you will have to wait 6 months to a year for an appointment. I suppose it is just indicative of our completely failing NHS.

Waste of time. Was sent there from 111.guy I see with beard bald head was so patronising and sarcastic. He didn't even look at my injury. Certainly wouldn't go there ever again.
6 months after having cataract surgery my eyesight is significantly worse than before and now in need of hospital intervention. The whole experience has been a catalogue of untruths and errors. Communication us poor and unable to speak with anyone other than than the switchboard operator who simply forwards messages.

I had a really good experience when visiting Practise Plus High Wycombe to receive a cortisone injection for my knee pain. It was a professional, well explained procedure. The whole process right from booking the appointment, was a positive experience.

I was referred for investigation and treatment of a shoulder problem. To begin with everything was good. In January 2026 I was put on a waiting list for surgery ‘in 2 to 3 months’. After six weeks I rang to check on progress only to be told I was (for no given reason) too great a surgical/anaesthetic risk - despite nothing haven changed in my medical condition, not even a birthday to put me in a higher age group. I was referred to Taunton and have had to wait another 10 weeks to get properly seen.
I wish I’d never dealt with them!

Do not book an appointment unless you will agree to an an operation. They are not interested in you otherwise. Number crunching only and appointment was a waste of time.

Having had many mri’s I would like to say the staff are very polite and helpful and the new scanner at High Wycombe was better than any previous scanners more room less claustrophobic and quieter

Both receptionist and radiographer were friendly and professional. I was a walk-in and hardly waited at all. I highly recommend Practice Plus.

I was referred to Plus Group Rochdale for Glaucoma treatment seven months I visited them in a wagon in a B&Q car park and they simply repeated previous tests. Although I was told that I was being referred so drops could be prescribed, I was then told I would have to be referred to an opthomoligist in Rochdale - three month waiting list. My appointment was then cancelled over a month ago. I have just received a letter saying I have a 15 minute telephone appointment with a nurse. My optician is bewildered as he referred me as an urgent case. After seven months I still haven't started treatment. I have already lost confidence in the organisation.

I was looked after and treated like royalty. Every process explained to me before it happened.

Very disappointing experience.
I had an out of hours visit through Practice Plus Group, and the main issue is what happened afterwards. The details of the visit and the prescription information were not sent to my GP, which has created unnecessary stress and disruption in follow-up care.
What makes this worse is that it has been extremely difficult to get this corrected. I have not been able to reach anyone who actually understands how to resend the consultation details and prescription information to my GP. I keep hitting a wall, with no clear ownership and no practical resolution.
For a healthcare provider, continuity of information is not a minor administrative issue. If the outcome of an OOH appointment does not reliably reach the patient’s GP, that undermines confidence in the whole service.
The clinical visit itself is only part of the job. Proper communication afterwards is just as important, and in my case Practice Plus Group failed on that.

PPG runs the NHS 111 service in our area.
They are clearly not interested in the 111 service and prefer to concentrate on the private side of their business.
When calling 111 the operators are very often rude, arrogant and aggressive. They lack basic knowledge and it does not occur to them that patients are calling because they have a health issue (and are regularly advised to call 111 rather than other services).
By the way, there is absolutely no point in raising a complaint with PPG. We did so a couple of years back after I was receiving text messages from them regarding a call I never made.
For approximately a month they kept pushing me around to different departments/locations, never getting anywhere and speaking to a very rude manager who advised they were too busy to talk to me.
Rather strangely, there was a constant IT issue throughout the period of my contact with them, therefore none of our telephone conversations were recorded from their side. Eventually they just stopped responding.
As someone who has life limiting disease I didn't have the strength to pursue this further.
Absolutely appalling company with regard to the NHS 111 service. If this is what the NHS is spending its money on, no wonder it is going downhill so quickly.
This should be the first area in which they make cutbacks.
