From the very first moment of contacting O'Hara's we were met with support, kindness and guidance. Anna could not have done more to help us create a fitting farewell for our son, listening to our needs and acting on them accordingly. We cannot thank the whole team enough for being with us through these very difficult days.

From start to finish, Anthony and his team were outstanding. I lost my Mum very suddenly, with no prior warning or health issues, and the way they handled her funeral was both deeply compassionate and highly professional.

Throughout every step of the process, they were there for us — explaining everything clearly, offering thoughtful advice, and always taking the time to answer our questions, whether in person, over the phone, or by email - often outside of regular hours. They even recommended a venue for the wake that we hadn’t considered, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect.

On the day of the funeral, everything ran smoothly, thanks in no small part to Anthony and his team’s attention to detail. The silver cars were a lovely touch - immaculately clean, comfortable, and dignified.

Losing a loved one is never easy, but O’Hara Funeral Directors helped make a very difficult time that much more manageable. Their care and professionalism truly made a difference. Thank you.

We went to a friend's funeral at St Mary's Church, Poole, this week. It was sensitively , smoothly and respectfully done (it was a larger coffin). Thanks in particular to Anna who led the team of pall bearers as they wheeled the coffin out and got it into the hearse. The walking in front of the hearse as it left the church is a lovely touch.

From the moment we called and enquired about funeral services, we received 5 star service. Anthony came to see us the same day and he was comforting, reassuring and very knowledgeable. He kept in touch with us throughout the process and checked in to see how we were doing. He recommended an amazing Celebrant to us, for which we were extremely grateful. The flowers he organised were absolutely beautiful & exceeded our expectations. The order of service they created for us was perfect and extremely high quality. The day of the funeral ran very smoothly and Anthony and his team guided us through every step of the way with respect, politeness and professionalism. Their funeral cars are so classy and elegant. The staff were reassuring and dressed immaculately. There were also lots of little personal touches which were unexpected but really appreciated. The memory photo cards and USB stick with the photos and music from the funeral service were lovely. Anthony kept in touch with me by email and was always quick to respond. The day we collected the ashes was made easier by the kind and helpful nature of John, who made us feel comfortable and cared for. Anthony and his team made what was a very sad and difficult experience for us very smooth and manageable. We cannot thank them enough.

I arranged my aunts funeral with Nicholas O'Hara funeral directors as my aunt had used them when her husband was buried on the same date 5years ago. Anna Jackson the director who dealt with all the arrangements was extremely caring and professional in her approach. I can honestly say nothing seemed to much trouble, she dealt with all the family requests and gave me useful local information to help us with the planning as I am not local to my aunts home area.
The funeral service was a lovely gentile send off that I know my aunt would have been pleased with, and made all the more personable with the words given by Chris Antell, the celebrant who officated. Many thanks to all the staff involved.

Unfortunately this is the second family funeral I have had to organise recently. Both have been handled by O’Hara’s, with my main contact in both instances being Bethany Agar. O’Hara’s offer every option you can think of (and probably a few more besides). Bethany kept in touch throughout the planning stages and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

We elected to have a church service, where Bethany acted as Funeral Director leading the cortege of immaculate silver Jaguar’s from our home to the church. Upon arrival she then guided the family to their seats.

Apart from hymns, where the church organist played, we also wanted some recorded music that held special memories for us. O’Hara’s organised this, and provided the sound system, which all blended into the service with total precision.

We had a beautiful service before our loved one departed in the hearse for cremation.

Even one of the pallbearers remarked to the vicar, it was the best funeral service he’d ever attended – praise indeed.

I cannot recommend Nicolas O’Hara Funeral Service’s highly enough.

The funeral for my Mother was carried out with great care and dignity, All the staff were excellent especially Charlotte who was the funeral director that looked after my Mum, and as a Family we would not hesitate to recommend Nicholas O'Hara funeral directors. Pat Scott and family.

Charlotte and her team took the worry of a rather complicated affair from our shoulders. The funeral service went exactly as we wished and my son, daughter and myself were treated with sympathy and respect and guided safely through all the procedures at a time when our brains weren't working very well at all.

Based on my own experience, Nicholas O'Hara staff provided their professional services with commendable sensitivity, understanding and courtesy. Throughout a difficult time, and at all stages, they evinced a genuine respect and regard for the departed person as an individual. Family wishes for the style, format and content of the Service were accommodated without problem. Indeed, helpful suggestions and guidance were offered and available where required: efficient and supportive without being in any way obtrusive. Valerie, my late wife, 54 years married and not easily impressed, would have rated them 10 out of 10. I'm not going to argue with her on that.

Charlotte made everything flow so beautifully for my Dad's funeral. Keeping us updated all the time on what was happening and nothing was ever too much trouble. The compassion she showed made us feel like she was part of the family.

My son tragically took his own life on 28/01/24. I requested that OHaras was the place I wanted him to go. All staff were so wonderful and guided us through the process. We were treated with such kindness. The service was yesterday and although it was one of the worst days of my life, Anthony OHara made it just beautiful. I picked Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors out of the air at a stressful time simply because it was a name I'd seen and heard. I don't think I could have done better. Anthony O'Hara and all the staff were always friendly, supportive and respectful and my husband's funeral was handled exactly in accordance with my wishes. Friends have spoken to me later commenting on how respectful the funeral director was and how impressed they were. Lauren and the team couldn't have been more helpful, kind and thoughtful. I was guided through every step, so much so that my husband and I have both now taken out our own funeral plans, again with the expert help of delightful Lauren, thank you all so much.

From the first contact, all the way through the service we received was exemplary. It wasn't the easiest of situations, managing differing family expectations, but Jon Austin understood the dynamics and provided perfect support throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and he made a very sad and difficult time as esy as it could be. The result was a send off for my Dad that he would have been proud of and I and my family were proud to have done.
