Dreadful customer care Last week the “Bevel” Tallboy was…

Last week the “Bevel” Tallboy was advertised at £50 off £399.99 therefore £349.99. I didn’t order because the room was being decorated and so yesterday I was ready to place an order but found that the same item was advertised for £399.99 with a previous price of £449.99, so £50 off.
I decided to order anyway as it would complement the Bevel furniture purchased 4 years previously consisting a kind sized bed with mattress, 2 bedside tables and a large chest of drawers. Also from Oakland on the same order was a double bed with mattress and 2 bedside tables. Shortly afterwards a sideboard for the kitchen was bought.
Returning to yesterday’s fiasco, delivery for a small item was £9.99 but there was a 3 day window and I was unable to be at the property to take delivery.
I telephoned to enquire about an alternative delivery date which could be arranged but that would cost £49.99.
In the space of a week I would be paying an extra £100. On this telephone call I was put under a lot of pressure to go ahead with the purchase so much so that I finished the call, not rudely, but saying we were not getting anywhere.
A short time later the company called me back. Why I do not know because I was told that neither the price nor the delivery arrangements could be altered. Again I had to finish the call rather abruptly.
Hopefully the item will be substantially reduced when the company’s liquidator moves in.

7 days delivery promise? more like 7 months to complete order, or will it be 8?

Ordered way back in January a bedroom suite of wardrobe, chest of drawers, bookcase for my 82 year old mother, notified store at time of purchase that I would be her contact gave my email and mobile as the contact to organise deliveries.
She paid premium for delivery, 2 deliveries later, there is still no wardrobe. Spoke to customer service who told me they cdnt speak to me as I didnt pay for it, and then asked my mother for my email and mobile of which she would not know and refused for me to give it to her. The the customer service advisor found a note on the system saying I was a contact, and could then talk to me after 19 mins of refusing to engage with me, they told me due to the gulf sea situation there is a serious delay on deliveries and still waiting for a date for delivery on the wardrobe. My mother spent a lot of money and this is a shocking service, rude customer service, however I must stress the in store staff were as helpful and actually very good in trying to resolve. The furniture that is delivered looks great, just incomplete. Also told that there would be no compensation for the hassle, they changed my delivery dates for the first 2 deliveries several times. They have told me that delivery cannot be made until late July.

Awful

Awful ordered two three seaters and a chair back in January we knew delivery would be 22 may. So one week after getting rid of our old sofa and decorating and having new carpets one week before we were told it's now going to be 17th of June . They offer us £50 in store credit for unconvenients ..£50 is an absolute joke even if we took them up on it and ordered something which you cannot get anything under 500 pounds it will then take until Christmas to arrive and that is if we are lucky. Would never buy anything from them again so they can keep their 50 pound credit and put it towards a charity

Dump and Go

I am in the process of moving house and have spent north of £8000 with Oakland. The experience in the shop was fine. Roll forward now to delivery.
I was working in the morning, the deliver scheduled for 1430 in the afternoon. After finishing teaching I saw I had a missed call at about 1130 from the delivery guys telling me they'd be at the property in a few minutes. I call back to tell them I won't be there until 1400. The call goes straight through to a voice mail box so no joy there. I get to the house as quickly as I could to find they'd been, dumped the furniture on the kitchen floor and gone (there was a painter doing some work who was able to let them in.

I had paid for the Premium delivery whereby they are supposed to unpack and assemble the furniture in the correct room and take away the packaging.

I called the customer service. Their suggested solution was to reimburse me the extra I'd paid for the Premium delivery service and leave me with loads of furniture in boxes on the ground floor (most of the furniture is bedroom stuff). In other words, have a few quid back and fix the problem yourself. I refused.

Promised callbacks were missed and after 2 further calls to them I am still waiting to discover when someone will come around to do the job they've been paid for. To be fair to some of the customer Service staff they do seem to be trying to fix the problem in good time, but no one has yet been able to tell me why the deliver crew thinks it ok to turn up 3 hours ahead of an already broad slot time, and why did they then just disappear without completing the job.

Sidenote: I've just found out they didn't even deliver all the furniture and some items are missing.

Update: Turns out there aren't any items missing - their records are wrong.
Some guys came around to make good the service and build the furniture. Unfortunately the wardrobe won't fit up the stairs (happens more often than not apparently), so they took it away. Was told refund would be paid in about 3 days. Nearly 2 weeks later still awaiting refund. Customer Service says they have no record of any item being returned and they won't issue a refund unless there is some evidence that it was. In other words, yet another screw up by them. They are currently trying to track down the guys who came to build the furniture and took the item away to confirm I'm not trying to scam them. So currently down one wardrobe and over 1200 quid. Currently getting witness statements from two people who saw the guys load the wardrobe and take it away, should this not get resolved in the very near future. This cannot be how to run a customer facing business surely.

Disgusting delivery service from cowboy delivery men

I ordered a two-seater leather Austin sofa last November. Paid in full. I was charged £99,99 for "premium" delivery . The sofa was due to be delivered in early February. I was told delivery was delayed due to problems in the Red Sea. I felt like canceling as the wait was too long. Lost all interest in the sofa. I was told I would lose 20 % of cost. Maybe more as the shop person was unable to clarify on the phone. I decided to wait for arrival.
The sofa arrived on the 12 March .
I had told staff when I purchased the sofa that I live in an apartment block with two flights of stairs.
No problem I was told . Buy premium delivery. I will be Brought into your apartment room and set up and boxes removed.
On the day of delivery, I got a call to stay they would be 20 minutes. I asked are there two people as I live on the second floor.
Van arrived. A plain white van, No Oakland Furniture on the side.
Two guys got out of the van. I had gone outside to wait for their arrival. I pointed to the emergency door which is used for deliveries. It leads straight onto the stairways which are wide with wide landings.
One guy started swearing. All "F " words . Effing this and that. No way was he going to carry large box upstairs . Said he had a bad back. One wonders why he was working if he had a bad back.
Refusing to move it. He stormed inside the building and he may have been before as he knew we had a lift.
A lift that is not to be used for furniture delivery.
He started mouthing off effing again in front of a neighbour who explained this lift rule was in place from the day the building was completed. Seven years ago . Builtfor residents over 60. He was rude to my neighbour.
Stormed back outside took a Stanley knife to the box and and started ripping it open on the driveway. I asked what are you doing? His reply was he was leaving it at the front entrance and I had to move it. I am 76 with a disabled husband . I said in that case take it back I will ask for a refund . He quickly cut the box off and told his mate to take hold and they lifted it and stormed off towards the door swearing and stating if it gets damaged they are not responsible. They got the sofa in the door but did manage to knock a chunk of plaster off the wall as they were not been careful in any way.
Made it into my apartment and knocked paint off my lounge door. The quieter guy of the two pushed the sofa into the area I wanted it . Forgot to plug in the cables to work the motor. He remembered when his effing friend told . So they plug it in and stomped out . Forgetting to show me how it worked and when I mentioned it the quiet guy handed me an instruction book and off they went.
The sofa was left not in a straight position . Not where I wanted it exactly. I tried to move but far too heavy.
I called the store I bought it from. Reported the delivery men and saga . I was told to report it to head office. It was also suggest I get a friend or family member to move it. I had paid £99.99 remember and the staff I spoke with was not helpful . Why do people assume we older people have families? My friends are all old like myself and we have no family I find that an insult . So after my reporting the issues all they response I got was sorry for the bad language. No offer to come and set it in place . No offer of a refund of delivery which would contribute towards repairs to door frame etc of the upset this caused me.
I thought Oakland Furniture had some nice things in the store but the aftercare is disgusting.
I have since found a guy to set the sofa in place . This should not have to happen . I don't ask people for favours specially after paying for a service.
Think twice before buying if you are concerned about delivery .Maybe Oakfurniture Land need to get better driver delivery men . These that came to me were a pair of cowboys probably contracted by Oakfurniture Land
If OakFurniture Land read this . Purchased 24 Nov 23
Maybe a refund on delivery would be a good idea for the grief upset I suffered .

sometime ago i ordered a blanket box from oakland furniture and shortly afterwards the hinge broke and after a couple of weeks it was repaired and low and behold its gone again same problem same hinge and after waiting several weeks and calls wondering why the part is delayed it miraculously appeared now it could be another two weeks waiting for the repair to be completed again so why does it take oakland furniture between five to six weeks to get a repair done and why don't they inform people about any updates about the process?

An extra £100 to position furniture, screw on the feet and remove packaging

Looking for a new sideboard went to Oakland Furniture next to Metro Centre, Gateshead.
A sideboard was £599.99 but only until Sunday when it would increase by £100. Ok, it was a sale item so I could order immediately and I didn't discount it.
However, the salesman then explained if I wanted delivery and for them to take the packaging away it would cost an extra £99.99!
He suggested I just pay for normal delivery, which would mean it would be dumped in my lounge, and I would have to position it, screw on the feet provided and deal with the mound of packaging left.
He explained the £99.99 charge would be if i ordered one item or more.
What appalling customer service. No thank you Oakland, you haven't even enticed me to shop with you. Will be looking elsewhere

Later on I had a follow up call in reference to previous review and again understood the issue and kindly offered a gesture of good will. Again a very polite, professional and courteous lady.

Tracey is brilliant!

Tracey Gillan in the Customer Relations team is excellent. She is thoroughly patient, understanding, sympathetic when appropriate, and always listens - especially when you are really really angry. Tracey is much better than the other staff I spoke to there and is always reliable and very kind.

I am so endeared to Tracey for her ongoing calmness and help (even though I lost my patience - which was not Tracey's fault at all). I hope Tracey is promoted. She is my favourite thing about this company. I will never buy anything from Oakland again but at least now I have been made happy by a suitable and fitting remedy to the ongoing problems.

Thank you so much Tracey. You really are a wonderful person and outstanding at your job.

Never order from these again

My mum ordered a sofa set on. 10/11/2023 and they said it would be delivered on Friday 17/10/2023 between 14.30-17.30. very surprised and happy at the speed of this. When it never arrived in the allotted time I called them at 17.40. They informed me that the set was on the truck and they had 1 drop before my mum's. Waited until 19.00 and phoned back but they had finished for the weekend at 18.00 so I phoned the shop in Speke and explained the situation to Ray (who was very helpful), he said it is showing it is on the truck could I wait until 19.50. I phoned back and he apologised and said he will phone the head office up in the morning. Next morning Ray phoned at 9.45 to let me know that head office could not understand why it hadn't been delivered and they have put a new delivery date in for wed 22/11/2023 and I should phone head office 1st thing Monday morning. Head office phoned me this morning and said they will deliver Wednesday. I said I need the delivery today because I have had my 82 year old parents with disabilities sitting on dining chairs because their old sofa set went on Friday they said they can't do anything about it. I asked for the money back and they said it will take 3-5days, I said we need it now so my mum can reorder a new one. They said it's not as easy as that. I said we are in the 21st century now and you can transfer in seconds but they wouldn't have it.
Also when I looked online at the order it says it is still getting made.
So mum and dad have had to sit on camping chairs all weekend, I had to take 4 hours holiday on Friday, miss a meal Friday night, today I have to get a van to bring some chairs from my kids room( which I won't have back until after Xmas now) for them to sit on until they get a new sofa set with more time off work.
Will never use again.

Do not pay extra for premium

Do not pay extra for premium
Brought a bed for my daughter and decided due to her being a hardworking single parent care worker, to pay for the premium service, where you can change times, have the packaged unwrapped and put together for you what a shock
After waiting a period to get the bed only half the package for delivery, hence could not be put together.
Contacted so called customer services who then state they could not send the other part for 2 weeks. Therefore furniture from room has to be moved back up stairs again, nothing to sleep on for 2 weeks and trying to arrange delivery within work schedule.
No premium service here. And please do not get me started on so called customer service or the management who won’t even give their surname but requires all your details and even confirmation from the person getting the present , really poor excuse of service

I wish i had read these reviews before making a purchase. What a poor quality customer service they offer. Lots os errors on their side they make and apart from rote type responses ' I understand ' 'I apologise' you get nothing else. No solutions. All bunch of robots which includes the manager too.
The manager got frustrated too and didn't know how to handle me. Bare in mind I never was abusive but was very firm to report my concerns.
