Switch repair

Logged a Switch repair online given failure to read games. Switch us in warranty.

Received a DHL postage pack which contained very vague information..... postage was due to be pre paid.
Phoned DHL for info but phone number supplied didn't work. Sent the repair via the post office to avoid further delay
which cost 20 euro.

Received info after 5 days from Nintendo to say there was no problem reading games !, but repairs were required for screen & these repairs are out of warranty and will cost 125 Gbp.

I've requested further info.
Very dissatisfied.
In summary; Postage not covered, long delay, poor communication on repair & high fees requested.

Continue to wait on reply. So frustrating.

Cancelled Order. Cancel Nintendo.Co.Uk

Nintendo cancelled my pre-order without attempting payment. They then lied about my payment failing. To verify I spoke to my bank who confirmed the Nintendo.co.uk customer team had lied. I had also got bonus items in the order which cannot be reordered as they are one per customer. Note, the order was cancelled so I did not receive anything. I've been asking Nintendo for 4 months for an update. Worse still, I've a ticket going back a year and they "escalated" it. This means they never addressed it and never provided any updates. It's just disappeared. Genuinely just buy your games from Amazon or a game store. Avoid using this absolutely terrible service at all costs. I'm not even convinced they're real people. All I receive are generic replies. Utterly deplorable.

Nintento are an absolute joke.

Nintento are an absolute joke.

I bought a game from their eshop and played it for less than 15 minutes as it simply does not run on the switch. Contacted customer support for a refund which has been a colossal waste of time. I followed all their convoluted steps to get the game to work and surprise surprise it didn't work. Nintendo then told me to contact the publisher and that it wasn't their problem. I didn't give my money to the publisher, I gave it to Nintendo and Nintendo are directly in breach of UK Consumer Rights laws as they have sold me a product that is not fit for purpose. I guess you can do whatever you like when you are a big company. I'm no longer spending any money with Nintendo and will stick with Steam who actually seem to care about their customers.

If you are reading this, do not buy anything from the Switch eshop, you are better off buying the physical game so you can at least return it when it doesn't work.

Auto-renewal NOT AUTHORISED!!!!😡

Son hasn’t used his switch for a good 18months now and last year I had to contact them about auto renewals going out but couldn’t be sure I’d done what I needed so took that on the chin. However….they’ve taken another and I’m fuming as this has taken money from an account a bill was due from and so that’s been returned. I’ll have a bank charge, a charge from my car insurance and a missed payment on my file!!!!! How dare they just take money when there is NO card or payment avenue authorised! Robbing company!!!!!!! Cannot log any complaint with them as it is consistently shaded grey -meaning it’s not an option !!!!! No phone number either surprise surprise! THIS (here on trustpilot) is my only way to get this seen! Shame on you Nintendo!

How can I start with this?

How can I start with this?

The device I was gifted was fine, no problems, no situations but the pricing for the online game(s) for their Nintendo 3DS XL, the Nintendo Switch and more.

Seriously, making us PAY for their online service which WAS free for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii family of consoles?!

What the heck are they thinking by doing that?!

For example, I wanted to get a new game, like the new Legend of Zelda one, physically it was £44.99 but digitally it was £59.99?!

THAT'S NEARLY TWICE OR TRIPLE THE AMOUNT IT SHOULD BE PHYSICALLY!

So, Nintendo, you have A LOT of improvements to make to your current gen console.

Absolutely terrible customer service

Absolutely terrible customer service, only exists to try and cover their own back sides, known issues like blocking payments and use of cards are just blamed on banks and 3rd party security, they take zero responsibility for their broken service and customer support are honestly a frustrating joke, even after an hour trying to make a complaint the only response received still tried to blame my bank and suggested I was having a hard time understanding, total gaslighting to ensure they don't have to do anything

João A should be ashamed

Had a very minor scratch on…

Had a very minor scratch on anti-shatter layer on Switch OLED screen. Support stated it could be potentially fixed without repair. After being sent in they insisted the screen and battery needs replacing for £127. Also my Switch's data had been wiped for no apparent reason. Felt like I had been misled. Can only hope the item is returned without further damage.

Refuses refunds on games

Bought disney dreamlight valley from the eshop, I had emailed them within a hour for a refund because the game is completely unplayable. I have deleted the game and reinstalled it, deleted other games off my switch even though I've 40gb and a memory card but still not able to play it without it constantly lagging and jumping, but nintendo refuses to refund still. If they would release a physical card game would be able to return that for a refund but that's how they make their money.

Nintendo robbed me

I never received the game that I purchased as part of a bundle on store.nintendo.co.uk. I had to buy it a second time as it was a gift for Christmas Day.

Nintendo were not even remotely interested in resolving this with a refund. It's pretty clear that they are interested in innovation and fun technology, but be warned: customer service is not something they are focussed on. I had an honest problem, and despite doing my best to follow their customer service route they just wanted to take my money and run.

I hope they get called out on this eventually, lots of negative reviews here. Such a shame, as I was always a big Nintendo fan and this leaves makes my memories of playing Super Mario as a 10 year old on SNES feeling rather bittersweet.

What’s up with their processes?!

Not a great experience to be honest. I ordered something that was apparently back-ordered, but it didn’t mention it when you were making the purchase.

1.- When I checked with the live chat option in the website, to speak to someone I had to fill in all my details before the chat started. However, when I started talking to an agent, they asked me the same questions, even though I had just filled the form up. They said they don’t see the form.

2.- Then they told me about the back-order situation and that they don’t know when the items will be dispatched but ‘it could be months’ (???).

3.- Then they offered me to cancel and I said ‘yes’ since this was a birthday gift and who knows how long the wait was going to be for. Then they told me they would send my request to the cancellation team, without letting me know when to expect the refund or anything though. I had to ask them, but they didn’t know so we will see how long it takes now.

Overall it was like talking to someone who didn’t work at the company! I understand the agents do what they are told to and this review is aimed to the company processes, not the agent/s working in there.
However, being someone who makes a living from helping companies to improve processes and UX, I can say Nintendo needs a lot of help to get their Operations sorted out - what a bizarre conversation it was!

Poor customer service

One bag of 💩 customer service! I sent the console back last month, it was received by Nintendo on the 22nd of February, and 16 days later, I'm still waiting for acknowledgement and a refund. #NintendoFail #TerribleService 😡

Complete absence of customer service

Complete absence of customer service. Bought switch oled console and case using applepay on 25/1/2024.

By 2/2/2024 still No confirmation of order. Funds withdrawn from credit card. MyNintendo says "pending."

Chat bot does not function on phone, no contact number, no access to customer service.

Logged in via a friends computer- chat bot functions. Informed that their records say payment did not go through.
Explain that mine say it has and can they check again?
Not possible, we will email you and you can email us proof of payment. Then someone will review it and we might ship your console but it will not arrive in time for the birthday in question.
Emergency purchase of console from amazon as Nintendo order is not coming- amazon purchase not anticipated before birthday either but can trust it will arrive.
Receive email asking for details and a separate email confirming dispatch almost simultaneously.
Cannot cancel other order. Request to be reimbursed for shipping and return for alternate order and price match as gesture of goodwill.
No, just return it.
Explain i need the console for a birthday and the alternate will not arrive in time.
Just return it.

Irritated that I have incurred additional costs as they did not follow the protocol they gave us and they have no intention of reimbursing those costs.

Rubbish

I don't think I've ever had an order where something didn't go wrong

The UK Nintendo store just keeps finding new ways to fail, it's almost impressive. This time DPD didn't deliver (only tried once, to a designated shop no less). DPD apparently asked Nintendo for direction on what to do next (actually deliver, obviously...) but got no response, so the automated system is sending it back. Nintendo have cancelled the order, but the items purchased with platinum points cannot be reordered (as the system thinks I've bought them once) plus my points are gone. This was a split order with some physical games and Nintendo have advised this may happen again and there's precisely nothing you can do about it. I would obviously avoid the site, but they are the only stockists of some things so you have no choice. They've essentially admitted it's a lottery with no recourse if something goes wrong. You may get your stuff! Step right up and roll the dice!

Worst customer service I've ever had.

Worst customer service I’ve experienced, you can’t even get in contact with Nintendo Europe. Their chat bot is down , then they just keep giving you links to the wrong department. I say ‘they’ it’s most likely a bot.
My problem is with ‘mynintendo’ but you can’t contact them about that, they will just refer you to the main store, then the main store doesn’t deal with mynintendo issues.
Delivery is supposed to be 2 to 4 days , and to be fair my other items have always been delivered. But now I have an issue it shows how bad their responses are. My order has been pending well over that, I can’t even reorder it as it’s one per customer. This makes the reward scheme pointless for me now.

Having to resolve the issue with my bank, a tiny amount but hopefully it will flag them as a bad retailer, has scared me off from buying anything Nintendo.
There is too much competition from other platforms , PC especially, that provide Nintendo type games for you to be acting like this.

They have me runninng around like a head less chicken

Two weeks ago, I purchased for aniibos on the website, at which were dispatched by DPD, as of now I have not been able to receive any of the AMIIBOS, due to the fact that DPD failed to deliver it to the proper address. I've got in contact with DPD ox and then where could it have been delivered to, at which they established that they was even show themselves. So I then went to Nintendo, to flag the parcel is missing if they could send me replacement or if they could simply try and get DPD to pick it up, however the only response I got back from Nintendo was that I should just check with my neighbours where it was. This pissed me off, because they established me that they would send a form for me to fill out to report it missing, so I had to get back in contact with them again to ask them to send me that form over at which after I did the form, they didn't even flag up the parcel was missing to DPD, which is why DPD was unable to do a full on investigation of where exactly my parcel is as of now I'm waiting for Nintendo to get back in contact with Me surrounding of when they will open up this investigation, as well as considering just ask him for full refund, since I feel as if it's very unfair the fact that, I am having to chase up both organisations to see where my parcel is so that I don't lose £50.

Fun console but the online is a rip off. Go for PS or Xbox

The console is fun but the online membership is a total rip off. They give you a free trial online when you buy the console, but you can’t even use all the online features, it’s pointless. Also you need an online account for everyone that plays, not one per console. Swindle if you have multiple kids as they all need an account. Then if you pay for that, you still can’t play the retro games, you need the expansion pack, which cost loads more and surprise surprise conveniently doesn’t have a monthly subscription, only a yearly one. Very poor Nintendo, I remember when you used to be the best value for gaming, those day have long gone.

Can i give them less than one!?

Can i give them less than one!? Trying to cancel family membership subscription that was automatically taken, provided them with the information as requested in their receipt email in order to cancel and they keep coming back with stupid information requests to 'find my account'. Infuriating and dragging it on beyond the cancellation period.... if I do not get a refund on the back of my last email, I will hit the roof. YOU DON'T NEED MY SWITCH SERIAL NUMBER TO FIND MY ACCOUNT DETAILS!! JUST CANCEL! Appalling!

Should be on BBC watchdog

I look forward to the episode of Watchdog where Nintendo finally get called out for their atrocious customer service.

Ive had bad experiences before but nothing has ever come close to this.

I'm now taking my case to small claims court. I think Nintendo think I won't because it's not worth the hassle, they are in for a shock. I have a meeting with CAB to get things started, and I am not concerned about the cost either. It's principal and the way I've been treated is not fair, a breach of consumer Rights, and from reading the reviews here, I'm not the only one.

I will post the outcome of the case on here. I suggest other people also do the same, especially if
