Absolutely awful customer service

Absolutely awful customer service. Bought a voucher, the foil and code scratched off at the same time. Followed the instructions to get a new code sent through.
No response after a week. Sent several emails and all information requested. zero contact back from them. Avoid!!

I’ve been delivered a damaged donkey…

I’ve been delivered a damaged donkey Kong cushion via bundle. I contacted the live support whom sent an email very promptly asking for proof of damage. 5 photos, sent explanation for the damage and product still sealed. 12 days later I’m still yet to even have a returns label or any form of contact other than my own. Raising concerns again via there live chat I’m simply told it’s been escalated but no time frame can be given. It really isn’t worth using the store they have no interest. Being ignored until I accept a damaged item is what it feels like. I also suggested a refund for the cushion it was in a bundle price so didn’t expect a full refund for the full amount if bought separate as I wanted to play the game been told to keep all items sealed incase they need it all back, had to buy the game again to be able to play it an keep the one in the package sealed costing further money.

Never had any problems

I've ordered a few items from Wii U to Switch. Only problem I had was my last order that looked like the top of the box had been pressed in to see what was inside of it. The side of the lid had sort of lines in it so that it could be closed. Would be better to use more secure boxes or pop some security tape on. Other than that, no problems.

Awful warranty experience- Nintendo Switch 2

I purchased an Nintendo Switch 2 and it comes up with an error when starting any game that software was closed because an error occured. Sent to Nintendo as under warranty and returned to me saying it is fine. It is still faulty! They did not test this at all so no repair attempted - TERRIBLE SERVICE. Please avoid Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony provide a better experience all round and give you the customer peace of mind. Agree with a lot of comments here - feels like a scam / robot. Think it shows how low Nintendo value customers.

I placed an order for a game hours…

I placed an order for a game hours after release, only for their system to mistakenly consider it a preorder. And because I didn't have a preorder payment method saved, they didn't authorise the payment.

However, they have still essentially taken the money via my normal payment anyway, but told me I have to wait at least 4 days before they try authorising it again. So they have taken my money without giving me what I paid for. I went to the live chat for help, was given no help and they closed the window. To be clear, I was polite towards the support member. I would not blame them for this bizarre system.

I then tried calling their support line but was told they only handle tech problems. Since it's a digital product, they don't even allow a refund. So I'm stuck with it after this shitty experience.

It's incredible to me that such a renowned company can treat its customers so poorly.

Literal thieves!

Literal thieves.

Ordered several items, one of which was not in the parcel. Jumped though many hoops to lodge a claim for the missing item, waited two weeks then to be told it was “denied”.

Thankfully not an expensive item. Will never purchase from Nintendo directly again. Absolute scam.

Unbelievably awful service from an international brand.

Placed an order for my daughter's birthday, paid for Express delivery (1-2 business days), order confirmation email recieved and transaction processed to take my money. A week later, I still had heard nothing from them, my order has not been updated on the website and has not been shipped. There is no way to call/chat them in real time, the only contact is via a Customer Services form which takes 2 or 3 days to get a response. I have requested to cancel my order and have bought the same items elsewhere. I am now trying to cancel my order and get my money back and days later I still have no response from them. Take your money elsewhere.

Even worse than Parcelforce!

Worst customer experience ever. Absolutely the worst. And I never thought I would say that after dealing with Parcelforce.
Tried to return a console I bought which was only three days after it arrived and it was still sealed. They refused and then messed me about for 3 weeks after I complained. Never resolved. Complete time wasters. An absolute disgrace. Avoid at all costs.

Worst customer service experience ever

This is really the worst customer experience I've ever had. It won't let me give zero stars!

I tried to buy a game for my son on his Switch, through the Nintendo eShop. The transaction didn't complete properly. The Switch's connection to internet is awful. I waited 15 minutes. Nothing appeared in his account. No email confirmation. No game to download. I then bought it via my Nintendo account online using a laptop.

Later, I found that Nintendo had also credited my son's account with the money. It was only £4.99 so I actually couldn't really care less. I contacted them to explain the double transaction. The emails I'm getting back, are so rude and patronising. I keep getting told that I authorised a transaction to credit my son's account, so have agreed to their terms and conditions.

They botched half a transaction.... But it's my fault. I didn't get any sort of confirmation for the first transaction, telling me I should wait before trying again. The second transaction was instant. Their 'systems' are crap.

Never buy Nintendo!

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever!
I saved up some of my Nintendo points to order some pin badges I wanted. When they arrived I received an empty box! Was so disappointed and immediately emailed them. They had me fill in a form, hand sign it and send photos of my empty box. It’s now been over a month of constant emails asking for an update and they still haven’t sent me my pins. So disappointed with the service received. You would think from a big business they would be better!

Missing product. Nintendo refuse to refund despite doing everything they asked

I preordered a Nintendo Switch 2 with items including a microSD card. Everything arrived on release day except for the microSD card. I raised a support ticket right away asking for a refund (not replacement) on the microSD card because I needed to go and buy one elsewhere on day one for data transfer. Three days later Nintendo asked me to fill in a form and sign a declaration, as well as provide photos of the packaging label and the contents received. I provided all of this including noting the packaging was fine and not tampered with, and everything went quiet. I chased and after two weeks got an email saying because my order was shipped and delivered successfully, I would not be allowed a refund or replacement and they would not take any further action on it. The issue is not the shipping or delivery. The card was not packed in the box. I replied with a complaint and they replied to say I needed to address it to ‘Supervisor’ for it to be treated as a complaint even though they had all info. I have done so and raised a dispute with my credit card provider. I’m disgusted at the way Nintendo have handled this. I’ve been a lifelong fan and they are essentially taking my money and calling me a liar. This has completely changed the way I look at them as a company. I had a minor bad experience with them (due to their customer service) about something else in the last year and this has cemented that they need to sort themselves out. I will not look at them the same way again.

0 stars for customer service. Think before buying the Switch 2.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Nintendo's products are good when they're working the way you'd hope. When something goes wrong, you're on your own.

I'm currently stuck in a death loop where I search for for an article that helps me buy vbucks for my children's Fortnite account, don't find a relevant article, select "contact us" and just get sent back to look at more irrelevant articles.

They've quite clearly made it so you can't just speak to someone so they can tell you what to do. No online chat, no phone number, not even an email address.

So now we have a Switch that they only really want to use for playing Fortnite but we can't get any vbucks on there, the in-game currency being a central element of the game. The console is of little use to us without that feature, as is the game.

I would think VERY carefully about customer service before buying your child the new Switch 2 as a birthday/Christmas present.

Really poor if anything goes wrong

Ordered two switch 2 cases, only 1 arrived.
I had to provide a ridiculous amount of evidence, which I did, and now I have been told it has been escalated. That was 8 days ago. Just messaged and they have said it is still escalated.
The customer service has been slow, transactional and feels like a scam.
Next step is to go to my bank and report it as fraud.

Missing order

I preordered my Switch 2 from Nintendo uk store in April. I had the notification on 05/06/25 that my order had been shipped by royal mail stating they were expecting it but it didn't arrive and no update on Royal mail for almost 2 weeks. After contacting Nintendo support I then had to fill in a form stating I had not received my order and heard nothing more until it finally arrived. Hardly any update from Nintendo, no apologies or explanation as to what what happened. I only got a brief we apologise for the inconvenience after emailing them to inform them that the Switch 2 had been delivered. I expected better service from Nintendo tbh but just glad it arrived.

Customer service unreachable, avoid.

Pre ordered a carry case for my Switch 2 with release date 05/06/2025 on the 29th of April. Gets closer to the date and my other stuff gets a shipping notice but not the case. Order shows as completed and tracking states Royal mail is expecting it, I suspect it's never been shipped.

Contact Nintendo store uk on 6th June the next day and escalate on the 10th of June and still have not heard back from anyone regarding a refund for the item they never shipped.

Only options for contact are email and they are incredibly slow to respond. Any other company would be able to deal with a simple issue like this within a week tops as its very obvious they haven't shipped it. Instead they are holding my money hostage to their awful customer service.

I will be raising this as a credit card dispute and reporting the store to trading standards.

Missing items

Ordered 3 Switch 2 cases for launch day. 1 case arrived in the box, despite the order confirming I’d bought 3 and was charged for 3.

I had to email customer service back and forth and wait around 2 weeks for a refund.

I was asked for pictures of the items that hadn’t arrived… luckily the packaging stated the weight so I took a picture of the packaging with a single case to prove the contents couldn’t possibly have contained 3 cases.

I was issued a refund with minimal fuss but waiting a few weeks was a pain. Plus, making this mistake meant my kids had no cases for their brand new consoles on launch day so I had to order from Amazon, forking out more money while waiting on the Nintendo refund.

One of the worst customer service experiences

Pre ordered a Switch 2 having bought many Nintendo consoles over the years and fortunately (till now) not needing to get in touch with their customer service. Switch arrived all well but was only set up and left in its dock overnight to use the following day. Fast forward to the following evening and the Switch was removed carefully from it's dock with a nice new vertical scratch half the height of the screen. Have reached out to Nintendo C.S and they've been nothing short of useless. Days long waits between email replies as they have closed down both their phone and chat services since the launch and when asked for a straight answer as to if the warranty will cover a screen replacement before sending my brand new, barely used console off to them to "assess" I've now been met with 2 separate emails across the aforementioned days long waits, effectively dancing around the subject, one informed me it would need to be assessed so they couldn't provide a cost estimate, the next repeated the same message and then went on to suggest that if not purchased through their own Web store to return or replace with the retailer I purchased from. Very good suggestion when they have no stock to replace themselves and there is no stock elsewhere to buy another should I be able to get a refund.

You'd think a company of Nintendo's size would know how to handle the release of new hardware and the hiccups that may follow. Appalling experience and will absolutely be the last time I either pre order or purchase a new Nintendo product.
