Avoid - Poor service - Hard to get refund.
Test kit sold by Boots but testing done by MHC labs. They held my sample in quarantine too long claiming I had not activated the test. Which I did before taking the blood sample. They have very poor IT systems. Difficult to get support to respond. Wasted my money. Now they are finding excuses to deley or deny a refund. So Avoid. They are damaging Boots reputation,

Terrible activation instructions and website
Instructions for activation and registration are really poor. This was the 2nd test I purchased as I did not activate the first correctly despite diligence. Super diligent with 2nd purchase and there were still issues with multiple vague emails requesting I take unspecified further action. No idea what I finally did right but will not be using this service again. Results were useful and well written but the journey to get them unacceptably poor.

Straightforward testing, slower results
I chose this service because it offered the option to complete blood tests from home, which felt like the most suitable approach for me due to health-related anxiety.
While the testing process itself was straightforward, the turnaround time for results was much longer than expected. Although the website states that results are usually available within 48–72 hours, mine has taken over two weeks currently and are not immediately visible on the Patients Know Best portal. The lack of updates during this time is understandably worrying. I am still waiting to receive results.
I would like to acknowledge that Lucy has been helpful and supportive while assisting me. Clearer communication and more accurate timeframes around results would help improve the overall experience.

Painful.
The actual process was efficient but using the provided lancets took a couple of attempts as the first one did not work but the second one worked so well that my finger would not stop bleeding for hours. The next day my finger was badly bruised and I had bone pain in the finger for a couple of weeks after.
I honestly do not think their lancets are fit for use and I would suggest they go back to the drawing board and redesign it as im not the first person to complain about them.

Unfortunately I had an email saying you had received my bloods and I should have my results in 72 hours , but that deadline passed 2 days ago and no further correspondence . I found all the items in the bix a bit overwhelming at first and i did struggle to find the barcodes. Viewing the video helps. Then just the wait for the blood to drip drip drip from your fingertips. Make sure there are no interruptions and remember to keep the box as you need to return the samples in that.

I had not checked the instructions…
I had not checked the instructions properly, so although I’d registered my account I hadn’t registered my returned sample. I realised a week later so sent an e-mail, got a quick reply and the testing was able to take place.
The result came back to me in the time specified. Now I can act on the results, with hopefully a successful outcome.

Minimally useful. Not really confirmed anything I didn’t already know. Appreciate that DNA is only one element in most health issues so its use is limited. Quite expensive but pretty fast turnaround.
