Smooth and easy transaction. Thank you Sally!

We have to commend this Auction house, and especially Sally, for an excellent and smooth transaction.
Although we've not yet received our items, we're sure, judging by the service so far, that we will have no complaints in regard to the stated descriptions of the items.
After an extremely long auction with many lots, we were not expecting to receive our invoice for a few days, however it arrived in our mailbox first thing on Monday morning, with an easy option for requesting a shipping quote. This arrived literally within a few minutes, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the shipping quote was at cost, with no extras and very reasonable. We look forward to doing further business in the future. Many thanks!

Utterly unprofessional

I've got accounts on numerous online auction services which I use regularly and have done for many years now. This is the first and last time I'll use M&M Auctions.

I'll try to keep this relatively brief, but I've kept all correspondence and evidence which I'm happy to publish if the accuracy of this review is called into question.

I bid and won 2 lots through this auctioneers. Small wins, totaling only around £150 with shipping.

A couple of days after winning I received an invoice from M&M, I wanted shipping so I used the feature on their website to re-request an invoice with shipping included.

Aug 10th - New invoice, I pay immediately.

8 days later I still have no delivery - I have no communication from them. Nothing.

Aug 18th - I email asking for an update.

I get an email back in a few hours telling me that there had been some sort of flood in their storage room and that it was "very likely" that the 2 lots I won were damaged.

I was told "Will confirm tomorrow so we may need to credit you back if there is damage to these or at least send images for you to assess".

I was a bit annoyed to find they hadn't bothered to email auction winners directly to tell them of this supposed flood - Apparently there was an update on their website about it, but I think it goes without saying a simple quick email to people who've sent a company money isn't unreasonable.

SIX DAYS later, I hear nothing from them again.

Aug 24th - I email them asking if they'd looked at the lots and for an update.

Aug 25th - They respond, tell me one of the lots is affected, vague details about certain parts damaged and "We can send as is and offer a £20 credit or withhold lot 1568 and credit in full. If you could let us know, we’ll get it packed and sent today for you."

They told me on the email they'd send me photos - Didn't happen.

I respond and say it's probably best I just accept the offer of a credit (£20) because I can't see what's going on there via simple descriptions.

Aug 26th - They respond: "We have sent what was salvageable with the lot for you to have a look. Let us know what you think and we can sort something next week."

So, no photos, no acknowledgement of my request for a credit just sent the stuff without any info.

Aug 28th - A well packaged box arrives and I can see quite a bit is missing, as was expected - I'm happy with what is there though and respond to them asking for the £20 credit that was offered for the missing items.

A week goes by, I hear nothing (again).

Sept 3rd - I email them asking them for an update as I have had no credit and had no responses to me emails, again.

EIGHT days go by, I hear nothing (again)

Sept 8th - I email expressing my frustration that it's been 11 days since I accepted the £20 and have been ignored.

Sept 9th - They respond to me "My apologies, yes we’re fine with the credit, I will get someone to raise this for you."

THREE WEEKS go by and, you guessed it, I didn't get any further communication and no £20 credit.

Oct 3rd - I email them asking asking what is going on?

Oct 7th - They respond to me an email that is nothing to do with my issue and with another customers tracking information.

I respond saying the email makes no sense.

That was 8 days ago and I've heard nothing from this company since.

It's really not about the £20 and nor do I want it any longer - It's the point of it. To be subject to massive delays in communication, to be ignored and to have an agreement broken is just not on. They have treated me like rubbish. I gather its because this was only 2 little cheap lots, so they couldn't be bothered - thank heavens I didn't bid on anything with great value.

I will not use this company again. I will be sticking with more reputable services, ones I've used for years and never had a problem with.

Response to M&M Auction reply below - 31/10/22: I am disappointed in the rather dismissive response here but I can't say I am surprised. I don't leave bad reviews for businesses lightly, but when I'm treated poorly and forced to waste my time with numerous emails that go unanswered I think its pretty justified.

In response your points - "We're confident that they have not been ignored nor had the burden of losing out at all with the transaction with us"

Your confidence is quite irrelevant here because I provided a clear timeline of events that clearly show that I was ignored and treated poorly - If you'd like me to screenshot every email you sent me and every email I sent you and upload them to Imgur and link them all here for everyone to see, I am more than happy to do that.

I did get your follow up email after I left this review - As I stated in my review, I am no longer interested in wasting more of my time chasing a refund or credit.

We're disappointed the customer felt the need to leave a 1-star review on this occasion. Whilst with significant disruption caused by awful circumstances (as has been acknowledged) has not helped for a speedier resolution, we're confident that they have not been ignored nor had the burden of losing out at all with the transaction with us. Moreover, an offer of recompenses has been made for the inconvenience, but we still await the buyer's own confirmation and response to this. During busy periods, emails can sometimes take longer to respond to and whilst we have apologised for a genuine error in communication, we would always advise contacting us by phone for a direct and faster response to any urgent query.

Arranged to sell some old toys

Arranged to sell some old toys, shared email correspondence with Andy, who was very helpful in the first instance, supplied estimates, arranged collection of the toys. All was good and efficient. Then silence, I kept checking for update for auction on website but nothing, gone went the month when the auction was to be held (March) several email sent generic reply of soon. Eventually few weeks later half the toys were auctioned. In the main the descriptions and photos were good, some description differed from the photos causing some confusion to myself and I’m sure the buyers. The prices realised were fair to good. Payment was received in a good time around four weeks. I requested the rest of the toys I had sent to be returned to me, which was not a problem but I was charged £36 for them to be dumped in a box and sent back. While I believe they are very busy, they could improve their customer service throughout the full process to be inline with the customer service they provide to get your business. This was my experience and believe this is a fair reflection. Taking five minutes to update your customers is not a hardship it is what they are paying you for.

We're thankful to the author for their positive comments however we're disappointed they were not entirely satisfied with their experience. Unfortunately during times of staff illness and at busy times, it may take a few days to respond to emails hence always encourage contact by phone for a more immediate answer to a query. It was also disappointing to read returned items has been 'dumped' into a box since the author has not brought this to our attention previously to which we invite them to do so if they wish us to look into the matter further.

First time bidder

Have bid previously on M&M's website without success but this time my bid was successful. I found the buying experience very smooth and was very pleased with the cost, speed and packaging of my Dinky Toy. I refuse to pay extra for bidding online and prefer to use an auction house that operates it's own live bidding plus the facility of using their own P&P facilities at a reasonable cost makes M&M stand out from the crowd. Will I use them again, definately. They plus my usual auction house are now my go to websites.

A Great Auction House

Won a 'Lot' from this Auction House and I was really pleased with the efficiency of the Company. I use Easy Live Auction a lot and the fact that this Auction House provides Postage and Packaging makes life a lot easier. I highly recommend and will use again for sure. M&M is run very professionally and their Auctions have a great deal to offer.
