Serious concern regarding an online purchase

Serious concern regarding an online order through Makro.

I ordered a Dyson Airwrap through Makro Online for my daughter’s birthday and noted that the supplier was K Logistics. Unfortunately, when the product arrived, the outer box was not sealed, the inner packaging had clearly been opened and very poorly resealed, and there were dirt marks and scratches on both the box and parts of the product. It honestly looked like an opened, handled, or possibly display unit rather than a brand-new premium product.

This is extremely disappointing, especially considering this was purchased as a birthday gift. I now have the inconvenience of logging a return and waiting for a refund.

@Makro — if third-party suppliers are selling through your platform, there needs to be far better quality control. At the very least, customers should be clearly informed if a product is open-box, display stock, refurbished, or sold at a discount due to damaged packaging. Selling premium products in this condition is simply not acceptable.

Schocking Online Service and Support

I have never come accross such a useless company as this. The pure incompetance is scary. Orders are either just cancelled without options or they just delayed for weeks without any reason why. You CAN NOT get to speak to anyone in authroity. Customers are treated like dirt from Makro/Mass Mart. The scary thing is that I though I learnt my leasson been trated this bad and again after a 3rd online purchase nothing has changed. The bad revies on review platforms and socil media is a pure warning to nevr buy online form these stores.

Worst service ever you will get the…

Worst service ever you will get the wrong items from 3de parties and they will tell you they can't help you just cancel item and order again...After the price went up would not recommend using this service feels like Makro does not give a shit about there customers...

I visited Makro Bfn last weekend (1st May) and bought Roll on that was on special (see photo). After the cashier rang the roll on, I saw that the prices were different. I made inquiries regarding the price differences after which the floor supervisor mentioned that the specific roll-on is not all on special, but on the shelf the prices were in two different places which showed that both were on special. please see photos. I was then forced to take the same roll on after which they also added it to the slip, but I did not receive it and then had to inquire again and then had to take the same one that I already had. I spent 30 min plus just to sort out the problem. There was also another person who had the same experience and he was not happy either. This was not the first time this had happened. The items on the shelf show special offers, but when you get to the till then the prices are not right, always have to take +- 30 minutes to solve the problem.

AVOID MAKRO ONLINE SHOPPING ‼️– Zero accountability for missing items

​I placed an order on April 17th for several electronics. While some items arrived, one item was never delivered. For three weeks, my order was stuck on "Ready to Ship." Every time I called customer service, I was given the same excuse about "courier issues."
​It is not the customer's job to manage a store's relationship with their courier. I had to send multiple emails and eventually threaten to involve the CGSO and my bank for a chargeback before they finally processed a refund. Their communication is poor and they will leave you in the dark unless you fight for your money. Order online at your own RISK.

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the after-sales service I’ve received after purchasing an LG InstaView fridge along with an extended warranty.
After the linear inverter was replaced, the fridge developed a very bad smell, which is both unpleasant and concerning, especially for an appliance meant to store food. I have been going back and forth trying to get this issue resolved, but there has been no proper assistance.
I reported the problem in-store on Saturday, expecting prompt support given that I paid for an extended warranty. Unfortunately, to date, nothing has been done. The lack of communication and urgency from the service team is unacceptable.
I expected a reliable product and efficient customer service from makro silverlakes, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I would appreciate immediate attention to resolve this issue as it is now becoming a health concern.
I hope this matter will finally be taken seriously and addressed without further delays.

Very bad service. After 3 weeks and many telephone calls nobody comes back to you. Grace at Makro Bloemfontein is the worst. And I suspect rasism as well but I will do my homework to confirm my suspicion

DON'T, JUST DON'T

Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON MAKRO ONLINE! I placed an order and it was meant to deliver in two weeks. It did not. I cancelled the order only to see that there was no stock! They wasn't my time! ABSOLUTELY USELESS!!!

Dont order online

Ordered 35items, they wanted to ship items 1 by 1 instead of shipping all 35 items at once. I cancelled the order and requested a refund, only few items were cancelled and other items were delivered 1 by 1. Been contacted a few time with empty promises to refund me in full. Was told to reject the items if the courier deliver it but the courier is just the middle man and i must receive the items and then log a return then must wait 15 day for them to inspect my return and decide if they will refund me. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING

Makro send me the wrong items.

Makro send me the wrong items after buying online on 17 March. Today is 15 April. I contacted them and returned the items asking for a refund to repurchase the correct items. They cannot do a refund to my business card because they are requesting a lot of documentation so I opted for a voucher which Richard Mokgotho has been promising for weeks now and I still have not received this voucher after endless calls and endless emails. You call their call centre asking for people that's been emailing you and all the operators say is they have no idea who these people are. As i said to Makro the itmes I bought must go to Zimbabwe.

No confirmation email and Order stuck on processing
I placed an order on Makro for a coffee table sold by a third-party seller (NHI consulting), and I am extremely concerned about the lack of communication and progress. I have not received any confirmation email for my order, which is very worrying. Additionally, my order status has remained on “READY TO SHIP” with no updates or indication that the item has been shipped.
As a customer, this raises serious concerns about whether my order is being handled properly. I expected better communication and transparency, especially when purchasing through a trusted platform like Makro.
I would like urgent clarification on:
Whether my order has been successfully processed
When it will be dispatched
Why I have not received any confirmation email
Please treat this matter as urgent and provide feedback as soon as possible.

On the day before delivery, Makro suddenly cancelled my order, stating the supplier was out of stock.It took them 12 days to realise they didn’t have stock and to cancel the order. This is absolutely pathetic service.To make matters worse, this item is only available online, so there was no way to check stock in-store. This was my very first online purchase with Makro, and unfortunately, it will also be my last.Extremely disappointed with the poor communication and service.

Buyers Beware

Buyers beware.

I purchased a sofa on the Makro website that is supplied by a third-party vendor. On the delivery due date, no there have been no updates whatsoever and Makro themselves did not even know what was happening with the order.

Luckily, I was able to get in contact with the owner of the third-party business, who was very supportive and friendly. She explained to me that the unit is misadvertised on the Makro website with a price from Black Friday 2025, and now the unit is going for normal retail.

Got back in touch with Makro and demanded a refund, whereafter I was informed that the refund will be processed 7-14 working days after the case has been closed.

The lack of communication and accountability is appalling. There should be no reason for the customer to go through such a painful process for a mistake on Makro’s side.

I implore you to take your business elsewhere where you can expect good after sales service, proper communication and a speedy and reliant RMA system.

Makro online shopping customer service… Worst Ever!

Makro online shopping customer service is the worst. Placed an order online, didn't have most of the stock, therefore I cancelled the order. 2 weeks later, 6 emails and 3 phone calls, nothing done but "ESCALATING" the problem. All I wanted was the order cancelled and refunded and no one can help but escalate the problem. Never again will I order online.

Makro is a massive shop WHAT HOUSE.

Makro is a massive shop WHAREHOUSE HOUSE.
Whatever product I am looking for on the website, it states available online only.
Why why why.....don't they have enough space in their shops??
I don't want to buy online .... It is not reliable. South Africa is a country with very unstable electricity supply. One will think that Makro will have a dedicated ilse or section where I can shop for solar lights, power banks and power stations (ups) etc. but all I find is a few Garden solar lights, solar flood lights and fairy lights. Really!!!

Very Poor Service

If there was zero option,I was going to choose it, the courier company that Makro using is unreliable,drivers are always saying they didnt get your location,then the next thing based on those lies Makro will cancel the order without even confirming with customer.If Makro is incapable of delivering orders why are they having an online store?
