I am extremely disappointed with the after-sales service I’ve received after purchasing an LG InstaView fridge along with an extended warranty.
After the linear inverter was replaced, the fridge developed a very bad smell, which is both unpleasant and concerning, especially for an appliance meant to store food. I have been going back and forth trying to get this issue resolved, but there has been no proper assistance.
I reported the problem in-store on Saturday, expecting prompt support given that I paid for an extended warranty. Unfortunately, to date, nothing has been done. The lack of communication and urgency from the service team is unacceptable.
I expected a reliable product and efficient customer service from makro silverlakes, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I would appreciate immediate attention to resolve this issue as it is now becoming a health concern.
I hope this matter will finally be taken seriously and addressed without further delays.

Very bad service. After 3 weeks and many telephone calls nobody comes back to you. Grace at Makro Bloemfontein is the worst. And I suspect rasism as well but I will do my homework to confirm my suspicion

Ordered 35items, they wanted to ship items 1 by 1 instead of shipping all 35 items at once. I cancelled the order and requested a refund, only few items were cancelled and other items were delivered 1 by 1. Been contacted a few time with empty promises to refund me in full. Makro send me the wrong items after buying online on 17 March. Today is 15 April. I contacted them and returned the items asking for a refund to repurchase the correct items. They cannot do a refund to my business card because they are requesting a lot of documentation so I opted for a voucher which Richard Mokgotho has been promising for weeks now and I still have not received this voucher after endless calls and endless emails. You call their call centre asking for people that's been emailing you and all the operators say is they have no idea who these people are. As i said to Makro the itmes I bought must go to Zimbabwe.

I placed an order on Makro for a coffee table sold by a third-party seller (NHI consulting), and I am extremely concerned about the lack of communication and progress. I have not received any confirmation email for my order, which is very worrying. On the day before delivery, Makro suddenly cancelled my order, stating the supplier was out of stock.It took them 12 days to realise they didn’t have stock and to cancel the order. This is absolutely pathetic service.To make matters worse, this item is only available online, so there was no way to check stock in-store. This was my very first online purchase with Makro, and unfortunately, it will also be my last.Extremely disappointed with the poor communication and service.

I purchased a sofa on the Makro website that is supplied by a third-party vendor. On the delivery due date, no there have been no updates whatsoever and Makro themselves did not even know what was happening with the order.
Luckily, I was able to get in contact with the owner of the third-party business, who was very supportive and friendly. She explained to me that the unit is misadvertised on the Makro website with a price from Black Friday 2025, and now the unit is going for normal retail.
Got back in touch with Makro and demanded a refund, whereafter I was informed that the refund will be processed 7-14 working days after the case has been closed.
The lack of communication and accountability is appalling. There should be no reason for the customer to go through such a painful process for a mistake on Makro’s side.
I implore you to take your business elsewhere where you can expect good after sales service, proper communication and a speedy and reliant RMA system.
Makro online shopping customer service… Worst Ever!
Makro online shopping customer service is the worst. Placed an order online, didn't have most of the stock, therefore I cancelled the order. 2 weeks later, 6 emails and 3 phone calls, nothing done but "ESCALATING" the problem. All I wanted was the order cancelled and refunded and no one can help but escalate the problem. Never again will I order online.

Since my previous report on this site regarding the appalling service from Makro, I am blown away by how these complaints have increased. For those asking whether Makro ever reads these ratings...the answer is no.
I am now escalating this matter to the ombudsman.
For anyone who would like to follow suit, you can escalate your complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) at 0860 000 272, via WhatsApp on 061 510 5038, or through their website. The CGSO handles disputes involving retailers like Makro.

If there were 0 stars I was definitely going to put that. We bought a microwave at Makro. When it came home it was not working, we called them to inform them of this and they took it back saying they were going to fix it (what do you mean fix a new appliance) then months later sent it back and it was still not working. The service we received in Makro Gonubie was the worst they even said they will test if we did not ruin the microwave ourselves. We told them that we couldn’t even use it as it never worked. The microwave is still with them and they aren’t giving us feedback yet we paid a full price for it. Since then I cleared all my cart for future purchases. I want nothing to do with them. I’ve never been disappointed by a store I used to love like this.
Useless online orders courier company.
The courier delivery company which Makro seemingly mostly uses, Wumdrop, is in my consistent experience totally useless. No delivery on the day that the delivery is stated and no communication from the driver or otherwise why delivery is not done, and driver does not respond to attempts to contact him. On enquiry with Makro it is then stated from them that I was not available when delivery was attempted.

The worst shopping experience of my life. I'm left traumatised by Makro. I wish I had read the reviews first but I trusted them because they are a big brand. Ordered a Maono PD200X microphone and paid for it in full, and never received it. No communication as to why it never came, nothing. I wish there was an option for zero stars. Thinking of raising awareness on my social media and letting my audience know because we can't keep going through this as South Africans. This is abuse.
