LONGOS READY MADE LASAGNA:
LONGOS READY MADE LASAGNA:
Purchased from Box Grove location in markham. No garlic, no herbs. Little sauce - dry ffs. Nothing Italian about this. They are pandering to EVERYBODY which means - BLAND. This is essentially hospital or airplane food. Bland, tasteless and over priced. I think Longo’s is dropping the ball.

I think making chorizo sausage taste like indian spices make it go too far.
Disgusting.
I understand having majority of indian people but chorizo is a spanish type of sausage and you can’t make it with indian spices!
Store is - Longos Maple Leaf Square

Longos Boxgrove still packing its shelves with American produce while other stores in Markham have been increasingly stocking theirs with either Canadian or from other countries.
With tariffs on American goods imposed as of tomorrow, It's like they didn't care to mitigate this and still don't care.
I'll be boycotting everything but it's meats.
Longo's app got to be the worst
Longo's app got to be the worst. Contacted their tech help (written & phone call head office) from last summer. Each time claiming to be working on it. The person that answer was decent - great but when I get a reply. Still nada - now Jan 2025. When you need to log back in - the verification code takes forever to arrive - how about simple SMS instead of email. Store employees are generally help while some should have stay home. Best if you know what you need and where it is located. Location of Yonge & Sheppard.
Service Excellence
Viktoriya from the Ham-Salami section at Longos, York Street, Toronto made our experience most memorable. She was really friendly and helpful. Even for items not displayed at her counter, she took us to where we can find the item we were searching for. Because of her attitude, we have been visiting Longos almost daily. Thank you Viktoriya!!
Visited Longo's at Maple Leaf Square
I visited Longo's at Maple Leaf Square today only to be reminded why I have avoided this store for so long. Every time I visit I have the following experience:
Self check through at Longo's is a nightmare. I accept some responsibility as I forget how terrible the system is - - I forget because competitors do so much better; not perfect systems but not the nightmare that Longo's provides. Today the staff assigned to Self-Checkout had to intervene at least 15 times because of how clunky the system operates.
Then the second nightmare - - the Rewards app. Every time I visit I have to reset my password; only to find that the app won't execute the reset. App requires a code be sent to email - - I retrieve code only to get message that it's an invalid code.
I have complained about this via "contact us" option previously only to receive no response.
Lesson learned as it's obvious Longo's cares not about customer experience. I won't return as I am fully adverse to punishing myself while spending good money.
No appeal to shop here
Since Sobey’s/Empire, it’s not the same.
St. Clair/Ave location should be more of a specialty store. It definitely is not.
All Longo’s brands and even Compliments???
The prepared foods section is just awful.
This location needs a vibe like a Summerhill Market and or Harvest Wagon. We find ourselves going elsewhere all the time. Basically a convenience store for us now. It is unfortunate.
They need to revamp the hot food section…
They need to revamp the hot food section...before it was easy to access the food that you wanted, but now you have to lean over with your arm and the spatula to get to some of the food items which is not exactly sanitary. Also the food here is bland with very little seasoning. Sometimes presentation is sloppy with bits of food going in other sections. On top of that these entrees are just too expensive as they make sure to make dense heavy food as they charge by the weight.
Quality no longer there
I have noticed that the quality of products has gone down in the past year. My family loved the Longos turkey burgers which were a staple in our house. They have a new supplier now and the patties are smaller and not as tasty. Will be making my own going forward. When I walk in the stores, they just seem so empty. Prices have sky rocketed but less products. They provide recipes in their magazine but don’t sell some of the ingredients listed e.g. miso. Very sad. I guess this is a result of being bought by Empire Foods.

The staff are very helpful and Knowlegeable.
The quality of the products is…LOW!!!
The quality of the products is extremely low. Fruits and berries are rotten, vegetables are soggy, meat is full of fat and fish.... I actually had to return the Salomon as once you open the package it wricks bad and has grey unhealthy color. Very disappointing provided the prices for these crappy products are very high.
Declining quality, quality assurance problems
As I write this on June 22, Metro and Fortino's are advertising fresh Ontario strawberries on sale, but my Longo's (southeast Oakville) is selling strawberries shipped in from Florida. Years ago Longo's set a standard for fresh produce, but it has slipped. They seem to be expanding and opening new stores beyond their capacity to maintain quality supply. I've also had the experience of picking two cartons of 0% lactose-free milk (again at southeast Oakville) and finding them both turned -- one was actually bubbling. One carton could be random but two cartons feels like a problem. I wrote them and they said they would inform the "senior management team." I thought this would mean that someone would identify the issue, figure out the problem, implement a solution, and let me know — but when, after a month, I had heard nothing from them, I asked for a follow-up. They said they don't do follow-ups with customers. The whole thing about informing the "senior management team" is apparently just a way of politely blowing off customer feedback. It's a way of making no real commitment whatever. So I don't buy milk from Longo's any more, and therefore I do much less of my shopping there. I've found that both Fortino's and Metro are better bets. On the positive side, I've found Longo's (Southeast Oakville) long-time staff helpful and friendly. They do seem to have considerable turnover in junior and part-time staff. The meats generally seem to be good quality. Fish is generally satisfactory but choice is limited.
I purchased a package of Longo's …
I purchased a package of Longo's Chocolate Almond Thins (113g package) on May 14th. When I opened them to taste, they were dry and tasteless and stale!
I looked for the BB Date and found it was Mar 6, 2024, so past the BB date. They should have been returned to the producer and removed from the display.
Purchased Longo's Shepherds Pie
Purchased Longo's Shepherds Pie - its awful, tastes like paste and is very high in sodium - would recommend to stay away from this product! They say is no artificial flavors, colours or preservatives...but if so , you would think the product would have some redeeming factors - all clearly not helping. If this is representative of their "portfolio" - I am not shopping there anymore.
Ungratefulness lack of customer service
I was at Longos today with my wife. We spent over $300 on a credit card. I then asked tge cashier if I could get change for a $20 bill and was told our store policy is to not give out change. I obviously complained to a manager and nothing was done. I will be attending Longos at least twice a week in the future to fill up shopping carts with perishable food products and leaving them in the aisles to be restocked. I will continue to do this until the store manager is fired and until Longos provides me with a gift certificate for $300
We are very disappointed with the…
We are very disappointed with the produce section & selection at the new store located at Argentia Dr. Mississauga. (produce is why we started shopping at Longo's stores over 40 years ago at the old location on Goreway Dr. which was actually a fruit market). Very small compared to the other locations we've previously shopped since 1982. Supply is quite short. For what was originally and primarily a produce retailer has ended up being an over-priced outlet for Sobeys where the priority on supplying quality produce in abundance has been lost. On top of that, when I checked the receipt at home I discovered the cashier overcharged my loose russet potatoes @ $.99 each, by putting in the wrong code for small white potatoes . The only thing I see going back for is the Cherry Pink Bacon which is exclusive to Longo's. And when I do I will be sure to use self-checkout.

The manager Vito ,at the Longos on Greenlane is exceptional. He is all about pleasing the customer and making sure the store looks at its best. And he treats the employees very well The staff in general are very friendly and very professional.. We also shop at the Aurora Longos and their presentation of the store is very good and the staff are very professional and friendly. Janet & David

Longs is very overpriced for their low end products that they sell!! Their quality assurance does NOT exist!! I pay high end prices for fruit and vegetables only to come home and the next day they are uneditable !! Frozen and once it thaws it’s useless !! I SAY WE NEED A FORTINOS IN RICHMOND HILL !! I can buy the same bad quality at No Frills for way less!! My daughter ordered party platters and some were missing when she complained they did nothing about it !! I’m so sick of their price gauging and pretending that they are high end!! Very unsatisfied customer
Dear Longos,
Dear Longos,
Well...You have done it again. Ripping off the public with your greed and indifference. You've taken the one thing I have looked forward to every week and ruined it!
I have been eating Pizza at your 100 bloor Street East location in downtown Toronto for a decade. I bragged about it to my friends! I spread the word far and wide about Longos Pizza. It WAS genuinely good. Longos has been price gouging us all since COVID like the cartel that you are but at least you didn't skimp on the ONE thing that you were doing well. Pizza! This past month you cheap penny pinching d-bags decided that it was time to F*@% THAT UP TOO! The pizza toppings have been significantly reduced. The cheese barely covers the dough like a bad middle aged combover and I have to play Where's Waldo with the pepperoni .I know shrinkflation is your new business model but can't you just raise the price instead of ruining it? No!? We'll just pull the wool over our customers' eyes once again!
When I went to complain to the manager he said this is from corporate directly and nothing can be done... other than dislodging your micromanaging collective heads out from between your corporate avaricious a$$ cracks long enough to actually start listening to any of your customers.
It's the little things that count.
No wonder you are getting one and a half stars. You are hated .
F%$# the public eh!
regards,
Rob
Rock Hard bun
... my complaint !
"Hello To Whom This May Concern,
This morning I decided to do some shopping as one of my regular stores namely yours'.
The fruits and veggies are always exceptional in quality, bountiful with plenty of variety and selections.
The same can be said of your Meat and Seafood departments as well as the Hot Prepared Foods however ...
I have a real big beef with one of your hot sandwiches. I always try to time my shopping close to lunch so I can bring home a nice Meatball Sandwich. I've even shopped at your other store Downtown with the same results.
Here's my understanding of the buns in question for the sandwiches and that they are frozen then thawed the day of use and reheated/warmed before making the sandwich. Here's is the problem, the buns become very hard and almost stale like! ... rock hard like stiff Croutons! California Sandwiches would never ever use buns in the way like you do!! Theirs is a nice soft Italian/Portuguese roll/bun, not sure which, the way a nice Italian
Meatball/Veal/Chicken Sandwich ought to be and not cardboard ! I challenge you to do a mystery shop and you'll discover what I'm talking about but I'm guessing that it's a way of saving waste/recycling and getting one more day out of the product!
But this will come at a cost to the consumers like myself as this is the last time I'll ever purchase from that department again knowing what I know about the buns.
I've been in the Grocery Industry long enough that I like to think I know what I'm talking about.
You guys are doing a lot right but for me it's the details that count and this is one of them that you're
missing the boat on. Hopefully there will be some changes regarding this but it is what the Industry is.
A US company I use to work for would be jumping all over this complaint and a copy of this email would be disseminated, company wide, immediately.
Actions always speak louder than words regardless of where this email goes.
Thanks for you time.

Here's is their typical followup and my response ...
"Good afternoon,
Thank you for notifying us of the unfortunate experience with your last purchase. Please accept my apology for the inconvenience and negative experience with the bread.
You may return to the store with your receipt and product for a refund or we can apply a cashback to your Thank You Rewards card and then we will forward your feedback to our team.
If you do not have a card, please register an account online and select the option “I don’t have a card but want to sign up” in which a digital card will be assigned and we can apply a cashback. Please advise your card number then we will apply a cashback for you to use in store.
Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Guest Care Team at guestcare.

Hello,
Your response is typical and an expected attempt at satisfying a customer, no surprises. Firstly I do not have a Thank You Rewards Card nor am I about to sign up for one. the sandwich is in my stomach and if I could regurgitate it, I would. And should you feel you would like to go above and beyond "customer service" I will send you my address but as I mentioned before actions speak louder than words.
